If you missed Vanessa Carlton and her mad skills on the piano, you'll be happy to know that she's back with a new album, "Heroes and Thieves," under The Inc. Records, which mostly produces urban acts. And it gets better because "Heroes and Thieves" promises the best batch of songs she's ever written--plus, she even works with Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins and singer/songwriter Linda Perry. How's that for an awesome comeback?
Listening to "Nolita Fairytale," the first offering from her new album, we can't help but notice that her lyrics have matured, and the melody is catchy as ever. "That song is really about finding joy in unexpected environments," Vanessa says about her carrier single. "How sometimes losing things makes you realize what you have, which is like a quasi fairytale."

Among her newest batch of songs are the soaring "More Than This," the excruciating break-up song "My Best," and a new beautiful ballad, "Home." Her mentor Stevie Nicks also supplies back-up vocals in "The One."
The best part is, Vanessa Carlton will be in Manila to sing songs from "Heroes and Thieves" and bring us all back to memory lane with her hits "A Thousand Miles," "Ordinary Day," "Pretty Baby," and "White Houses!" You can catch her at the TriNoma Park on May 9, the Glorietta Activity Center on May 10, and the Alabang Town Center Activity Center on May 11. Finally, we won't have to walk a thousand miles just to see her.
