Enjoy these new Q Channel 11 shows for September

Sep 19, 2008 by FN's Trixie Reyna

So what’s in store for us in the only local channel for women?

The channel that claims to know women best, Q-11, presents a lineup of new shows that are all about women and the things they love: lifestyle, information, good taste and flair, and most of all, a lot of fun. It does this with its commitment to bring more lifestyle offerings, acclaimed shows, A-list stars, and topnotch talents in mind.

Will they measure up? Find out by checking out each of these new programs that just might pique your viewing pleasure.

Survivor
The original Survivor is now in its 17th season! This season may just be the most grueling adventure yet as Survivor castaways compete in exotic, rugged, daunting, and beautiful Gabon, Africa. Widely-regarded as Earth’s last Eden, Gabon is one of the world’s last remaining sanctuaries that still have pure, untouched wilderness. This season also marks the first time that Survivor is shot in high definition (HD) format. Get ready for some outwitting, outplaying, outlasting—not to mention lots of intrigues and backstabbing—as Survivor: Gabon airs every Friday beginning today at 2PM via satellite and 7PM on primetime.

House Life
This home improvement show is hosted by Tessa Prieto-Valdes alongside a team of young and talented interior designers, a.k.a house agents Tristan Jovella (do-it-yourself man/handy man), Aissa Gonzalez (home aesthetic expert), and Marilen Faustino-Montenegro (home aesthetic expert). Tessa and the house agents will tackle anything and everything about making your home a better and classier place to live in. House Life airs every Monday at 7:25PM beginning September 29.

Power of 10
Hosted by top comedian Drew Carey (of The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?), this new game show is all about fun and games as contestants try to guess how a cross-section of Americans would answer questions about different topics. Power of 10 premiered last September 3 and airs every Wednesday at 8:30PM.

Amnesia
This new comedy game show comes from Mark Burnett, producer of Survivor, The Apprentice, and Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? Hosted by award-winning comedian Dennis Miller, this high-energy program challenges contestants to answer questions from their own life. Amnesia will surely bring some laughs as their very own blasts from the past come at them. The show premiered last September 11 and airs every Thursday at 8:30PM.

DoQmentaries
Hosted by broadcast journalists Rhea Santos, Pia Arcangel, and Connie Sison, DoQmentaries is a monthly one-hour-and-a-half documentary program that focuses on stories and topics that concern women. Its pilot episode aired last September 13 and will henceforth air every second Saturday of the month at 9:10PM.

And while these are not new shows, you might still want to check out a fresh crop of yummy recipes from Q’s successful cooking shows.

Ka-Toque
Who wouldn’t be amused by the engaging chefs of Ka-Toque—Darlo Lopez, Mitchie Sison, Niño Logarta, Jonah Trinidad, and Jeremy Favia? Supposedly the most watched cooking show for the last three years, the chefs were chosen out of hundreds of aspiring chef-hosts from different culinary schools in Metro Manila. The show has featured over a hundred celebrities and over 300 recipes. You’ll enjoy the entertaining and informative cooking demonstrations, one-of-a-kind recipes, and mouth-watering dishes. Ka-Toque airs every Saturday at 11AM.

Quickfire - From being one of the Ka-Toque chefs, Chef Rosebud Benitez went solo as the host of Quickfire. The show, which airs in three ten-minute recipe capsules, is now in its second season. Its ten-minute recipes are great ideas for working mothers and busy women who need to cook fast and easy dishes for their family. Be inspired by the ease, convenience, and creativity involved in each dish prepared. Quickfire airs on the following timeslots: 10:30-10:40AM; 11:50AM-12:00NN; 6:00-6:10PM; and 7:15-7:25PM on weekdays; 9:00-9:10PM on Saturday; and 11:50-12:00PM and 9:00-9:10PM every Sunday.
