The Eraserheads Reunion Concert held Saturday night was cut short when lead singer Ely Buendia was rushed to the hospital after the band went into intermission. He was reportedly brought to the Makati Medical Center after collapsing backstage. Further reports said he is now in a stable condition.

We already had a feeling something was wrong when, after singing “Lightyears,” the 15th song before going into intermission, Ely suddenly kneeled onstage and leaned on his guitar before the lights were turned out. The supposedly 20-minute intermission lasted for almost an hour before band members Raimund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala returned to the suddenly brightly lit stage with Ely's sister, Lally, who announced that her brother had to be rushed to the hospital. She apologized to the audience and implored for their understanding since the grief caused by the recent passing of their mother has taken a toll on the singer’s already poor health (he had a heart bypass a year ago).

After being asked by MTV Philippines President Francis Lumen to pray in silence for Ely for a minute, the crowd left Fort Bonifacio Global City open field in an organized manner.

The E-heads opened their much-anticipated reunion concert at around 8:15PM with “Alapaap,” complete with fireworks display. They got the crowd both pumped up and nostalgic by performing hits such as “Ligaya,” “With a Smile,” and “Huwag Mo Nang Itanong.” The concert was really rocking, even if there was no exchange of words from the band members or any spiels at all, except for Ely’s occasional quips like when he greeted the crowd “Merry Christmas” before launching into the hit “Fruitcake.”
