Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, the power love team of GMA Network of Marimar and Dyesebel fame, will have a free birthday concert tonight, 7PM, at the Araneta Coliseum. Dubbed “Let’s Celebrate,” the star-studded affair will serve as their joint celebration, since their birthdates both fell on this month: Dingdong’s on the 2nd and Marian’s on the 12th.
Their fans are expected to flock to the venue to catch a grand dance showdown and other special production numbers by the pair. We can probably expect a lot of hip-grinding samba moves from Marian, while Dingdong is sure to showcase that signature appeal which earned him a spot in E! Entertainment’s 25 Sexiest Men in the World, along with the likes of David Beckham.
Other GMA-7 stars who will join the love team in this affair are Regine Velasquez, Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, Diana Zubiri, Iwa Moto, Bianca King, Tanya Garcia, Regine Tolentino, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paolo Contis, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Alfred Vargas, Marvin Agustin, Dr. Hayden Kho, Jay-R, Jay Durias, and Ogie Alcasid. Will Dingdong Dantes' real-life girlfriend, Karylle, skip the show, however?
The seemingly innocuous event, however, seems to have stirred some controversy thanks to Annabelle Rama, who appeared in last Sunday’s episode of Sharon to air her sentiments against GMA-7’s move to hold the concert on the same day as the premiere of For the First Time, her son Richard and KC Concepcion’s first movie together.
The Dingdong-Marian birthday concert will be aired on GMA-7’s Sunday Night Box Office (SNBO) on August 31 after Ful Haus.
