First there was the original Columbian version, then an American version starring America Ferrera. Now, we can finally call Bea Alonzo our official Betty La Fea after ABS-CBN confirmed the news in a press conference last Thursday.
PEP reported that Anne Curtis, Valerie Concepcion, Angel Locsin, and even Pokwang were rumored to be the Pinay Betty, but ABS-CBN Business Unit Head Deo Endrinal said that Bea has always been the top choice to play the title role. Before GMA's version of My Name is Kim Sam Soon was announced, even Regine Velasquez was also one of the choices.
Now, let me ask you, who is your favorite Betty? America Ferrera sure makes a hilarious Betty, but Ana Maria Orozco still wins my vote. Who can ever forget her and her amazing transformation? I can't deny that the male actors in the American series were cuter, though!
Well, now that it's all over the news now, we're definitely excited about announcements for the casting and the final release date, and hope that our Pinay Betty comes at par with international Betties.
