^--- Yes and No

Yes, you can just dump 12K on your SA and just let it sit there, replenish it once it went below the minimum maintaining balance.  Your EIP will just get 1k from that account each month.

No, since you can also have only 2k on your SA account.  Your EIP can still get 1K from that account every month.  You'll just have to deposit some more on your SA so that EIP can get the 1K from it.

Let say, nag-open ka ng SA sa BDO for only 5K today.  Simultaneously, you also opened an EIP for a BDO Equity Fund that would debit your SA every 5th day of the month.  Since tapos na ang May 5, at meron pa naman 10days before June 5.  (10days is the minimum number of days to start the EIP auto-debit based on the date you chose and the date you execute the request)  May 16 pa lang ngayon, kaya meron pang exactly 10days before June 5.

Pagdating ng June 5, EIP will automatically withdraw 1K from your SA and use it to buy an Equity Fund.

Kaya on June 5, your SA will have a balance of 4K, while you have an Equity Fund worth 1k (equivalent sa kung ilang shares ang kayang bilhin ng 1k na iyon sa price ng Fund sa araw na bumili)

Next month, July 5, your SA will have a balance of 3K, and your Equity Fund will now have x amount of shares.

Nagkaroon ka ng 2k and you deposit it to your SA.

Instead of having only 0.6667unit, you'll now have 1.3309 units (2003/1505).

nagsignup na ako nito kanina sa branch ko, sabi nun nac itetext na lang nya ako tom since wala yung manager nila. pinili ko yung 1k a month muna

darating ang time na mararamdaman mo, maliit lang pa lang kawalan ang 1k a month.  kung gusto mo magdagdag ng auto-debit, just go to the bank and sign another auto-debit form.  pili ka lang ulit ng date at amount na kakaltasin.  let say 20th of the month and another 1k.

I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out. :P

Yes pwede pero as a regular investment and not as an EIP
which means it has to be 10k at a minimum.

paano sis kung nag-open ka 10K na agad at nag-EIP ka pa for monthly additional to your 10K investment bibigyan ka ba agad ng certificate?

you can actually do this... invest agad ng 10K, bibigyan ng CoP (pero syempre may processing days) kasi hindi naman resibo lang ang CoP, galing pa sa investment head office nila

then, enroll that Trust Account to EIP for additional funding.  same thing would happen, that you would get another CoP once you've reached another 10K

EIP is just an auto-debit facility that allows poor investors like us to dabble in investments as if we are millionaires  ;D ;D ;D

Must arrange this one this week.

Pwedeng mag-top-up ng kahit anong amount anytime diba? On top of that regular P1k minimum autodebited per month? Irregular kasi ang laki ng income ko (but I always have income per month) so I was thinking that maybe I could do additional deposits.

^---if you're thinking of adding amounts on your EIP randomly, then NO.  That's not possible.
The EIP subscription is fixed and scheduled as such.

BUT, you can always deposit any amount, any time to your SA where the EIP gets its fund.

jmeangel is technically correct.

But you can invest OUTSIDE your EIP
hence you can invest anytime you'd like
but it would have to be a separate investment
and thus you will have to invest 10k at a minimum
(10k is the minimum for most funds)

Ay ganun?

I guess in my situation mas appropriate ata na ipunin ko na lang up to P10k before investing. Park it old way - through time deposit until I get the P10k required sa mga UITFs.

Thanks!

what i did was start at only 1k kasi iyon lang ang sobra ko nun sa budget ko.  after finishing all bills/payments, nag-sign up ako for additional EIP subscription on a different date.

kaya ngayon 2x na nag-kakaltas si EIP sa SA ko.  ok lang, i kept the SA at 5k maintaining balance.  minsan tumaas, minsan bumaba.  basta magdedeposit lang ako sa SA every pay day.

I know they are better with time deposits, but I also understand the risks too.

I'm still undecided whether to opt for 1k sa EIP or do it the old way as I have described above.

But that's interesting. 2 EIP. Magkaiba ba ng type of accounts (one equity and probably the other balanced) kaya ka nag-open ng dalawa?

Tingin sa situation ko isa lang ang makakaya ko because there's still this risk sa mga freelancers na tulad ko - na possible na mawalan akong income especially when sick. Almost anything autodebited from my account doesn't work for me. Let's see.

I just wish na sana pwede in the future ang top up sa EIP para simplified lang ang financial account ko sa mga UITF. It can be cumbersome to keep track of several financial accounts listed for a specific financial goal.

Another question po.. Nakalagay kasi to sa website:

 "Underlying Investment:
The following Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITFs) are available through the EIP:
* BDO Peso Money Market Fund (PMMF)
* BDO Peso Fixed Income Fund (PFIF)
* BDO Peso Balanced Fund (PBAL)
* BDO Equity Fund (EQUITY)
"

If tayo pipili, which is better kaya among the four listed above?

2 EIP for the same fund.  Fixed Income
1k every 15th and 5k every 30th

you'll choose.  10k ang starting ng Money Market, the rest are 1k
here they are in a nut shell.  pili ka according sa personality at goal mo, huwag sa kung gaano ba ito kabilis kumita.  remember ang investment parang negosyo, pwedeng malugi ka

* BDO Peso Money Market Fund (PMMF) - super safe at mabagal, parang time deposit without the too long withholding period
* BDO Peso Fixed Income Fund (PFIF) - relatively safe.  more than time deposit or SDA
* BDO Peso Balanced Fund (PBAL) - half and half.  half bond (safe), half equity/stocks (risk)
* BDO Equity Fund (EQUITY) - 100% equity/stock (take your risk)
