@iamsuperizch case to case basis ang length can be 6 months to more than 1 year. sa tourist visa, medyo malabo sa spouse, greater chances kasi married naman kayo. but of course the approval will boil down to the quantity and quality ng proof ng relationship. question lang if you dont mind, are you guys living together before your partner went to canada?

thank you Patchi2012, Showermist and Lonelymiss28,ang helpful nyo talaga, sana mameet ko kayo, where you guys located?dito ako sa kingston ontario, and 30-1hour bus away from the city, so not possible ang night classes sakin since di accessible ang school sa area ko,and one more thing is pharmacist ang employer ko,so shifting schedule nya, sometimes gabi na sila umuuwi, and di rin fix ang day off ko, minsan weekdays =( so di talaga possible habang LIC ako,so ang plano ko antayin makapag open permit and find other job tapos kukuha ng night classes or day tapos night ang work, tinitignan ko lang what will work for me after my contract here, kasi di rin ganun ka nice ang employer ko, madaya sa oras, long hours without ot pay, egyptian and sudan sila, so open permit or residency na lang muna ang priority ko, and syempre save save muna while i can, and tagal pa =( sana mabilis lang ang taon, baka lilipat din ako ng toronto after here kasi may relatives ako dun, thank you sissies, malaki na rin pala ang rate pag sa mga careaide no,tapos pwede pumart time if ever, may caregiver certificate nga rin ako from tesda kaso it will expire na rin 2013. =)

^just so you know, you can't use that caregiver certificate from TESDA to work as a careaide dito.

I am from British Columbia :)

angel_babyteen i'm here in TO, better na mag save ka muna sis, try to enroll nalang once naka open ka na, since if makikita mo, sa work permit mo, di ba not allowed na mag school. So better na safe, my friends who are nurses sa pinas, after nila naka open na, they request a form sa college of nursing in ontario for assessment eto, dyan mo malalaman if ilan ang pwede ma credit sa yo, my cousin, who's an RN in pinas, then naka work sa sg for 4yrs, 1yr nalang na  spent nya in schooling sa centennial college. Then her sister right now is on her last yr. sa george brown naman, practical nursing, 2yrs eto. pero nag pre health muna sya ng 1yr, since di sya nurse sa pinas and undergrad din. This are based lang sis sa mga relatives at kakilala ko ha, not on my own experience kase nga di naman ako nurse/nursing grad. I just asked them. Re sa english sis, don't worry, makaka adjust ka din, pinoy tayo sis, mabilis naman tayo maka pick up e.

^^you can volunteer sa church for now. or you can volunteer sa mga organizations, visit volunteer.ca or toronoto volunteer something.

it'll be good on your resume too.

some volunteering requires you to  be 5 years na dito. start small, yan ang advice ko sa iyo.

^medyo tricky ang conjugal partnership. kasi ang alam ko pag mag-apply ka papuntang canada kelangan  naka black and white lahat, so may docs ka ba na nagpapatunay ng partnership nyo? ang tawag kasi dito nyan ay common-law, at nakalagay sa lahat ng docs nyo na common-law kayo, like taxes, docs for the kids etc.

Just want to share mga sis, may co-worker asawa ko dito and may naka penpal from russia then pumunta sya dun at nagpakasal, so pagbalik nya dito sa canada kasama na nya bride nya kaso sa airport pa lang nag dissappear na beauty ng asawa nya as in biglang nawala sa airport, so sya ngayon ang nalagay sa alanganin dahil sya ang nagdala sa babaeng yun dito and take note kasal sila nun and dumaan sa legal na proseso and ganon pa rin nangyari.

^sis sorry i re-read again your post, at nabasa ko na undergrad ka pala, so i asked again yung friend ko na bago lang nag pa assess, sorry daw pero, di ka pwede magpa assess pag di ka grad e. don't worry dami kang pwede mapag aralan, once naka open or naka pr ka na. better save muna ngayon, pag pr na kase you can apply for osap or student loan din.

^ano ba nasa contrata. kung di ako nagkakamali kasi yung friend ko na kinuha kong lic ay may 2 weeks vacation with pay. kahit na sabihin mo na di sumusunod sa over time pay yung employer mo pero yung sa vacation dapat may bayad yun.

sabagay depende rin sa employer yun. kasi mostly na kilala kong employer pag nagbabakasyon sila dun din nila pinagbabakasyon yung lic, para di sayang yung oras. alam mo sabi nga ng karamihan pinaka magandang employer dito ay caucasian kasi considerate sila sa employee nila and most of them but not all ay di nagta-take advantage sa lic. pinaka worst daw ay pinoy second is indian.

thanks showermist and lonelymiss28, ok lang sakin no,work no pay, kasi unfair din sa kanila, dami lang mga pinay na nagsasabi na dapat paid yun kasi ganun daw sa kanila, kaya nakakaconfuse.
and yup mostly caucasians daw considerate, ganun yung ibang mga LIC dito, one more thing is minsan nagaadvise sila to change employer, kasi daw ako rin mahihirapan, yun nga lang parang ayoko, kasi tatagal na naman process ng pag apply ng open permit or residency, so tiis na lang ako hanggat makakaya ko =)
