Video editing as a hobby
« on: August 07, 2012, 10:02:46 AM »
im sorry i have to place video editing under the hobbies section rather than the techies. i was hoping i could get more replies here since i heard video editing shouldnt be as techie as it should sound. (Other than the fact that  you could edit videos through your laptop or iphone. )

I heard there are a lot of plug ins but im totally clueless. I just downloaded this free app in app store. Magisto. it will automatically make the video editing for you. Im still exploring it.

In my opinion what makes the videos in youtube click is the right video editing.

Sa mga magagaling dian- paturo naman :)

For beginners, I suggest Windows Movie Maker (or iMovie as per Heatherette's input kung Mac users kayo). It's probably the easiest to tinker with at hindi intimidating although slightly less user-friendly ang interface ng new version that came Windows 7. Dito rin ako nag-start mag-edit ng videos and it made things easy for me. If medyo marunong na kayo mag-Movie Maker and would want something better, Adobe Premiere pwede rin.

I use Sony Vegas Pro nowadays. Mas madami effects, easier to dub films, color correction, integrated audio, and takes shorter to render than other softwares. With Vegas, I can render a 1.5-hour video in 15-20 mins which would take 45 minutes to an hour on average. I don't recommend this to beginners, though. Medyo tricky siya gamitin at first.

I suggest practice muna with the easy softwares. Madali lang 'yan mga sis, laru-laruin niyo lang 'till you get the hang of it. :)

^ Sis, pwede talaga mag edit ng videos sa Windows Movie Maker? Marunong lang ako gumawa ng parang picture presentation pero kapag video e hindi na. I'm planning to edit our wedding video sana. Kaya kaya?

Thanks!

I used to do MTVs as a hobby and as a gift to my friends when I have the luxury of time. Actually di naman siya time consuming especially if you use Muvee. I don't know if it still offers 30 days trial period. I've done mine within that timeframe lang. Combination ng Windows Movie Maker and Muvee ang ginamit ko. Unfortunately, my pc was replaced and lost them. I still have my Mac so I just put videos together using IMovie. I'm ready to move on to new video editing softwares. I'm also open for suggestions.

not as a hobby, but i sometimes edit for films and documentaries.

we use Final Cut Pro 7. its pretty easy to learn, actually.

when we were being taught editing, they'd make us practice by making movie trailers like -- make the film Apocalypse Now a comedy or make Legally Blonde a legit courtroom drama.

yeeeaars back, i was just using iMovie, which if you're familiar with, and want a more advanced program, get Final Cut Pro X.

I think that's the one I have in mind. Thanks for mentioning that. I've been following some YT personalities and they often mention using Final cut. I'll research more on this especially the cost. Thanks!

^ No sis it's free. I have Windows 7 and I remember downloading the software from a website without paying a cent.

Yes pwede mag-trim sa movie maker, add animation effects, subtitles, etc. Andun na lahat yun. :) Hindi ako nag-uupload sa YouTube sis. The videos you make/edit in WMM naman can be uploaded in YouTube. Just choose the compatible format (.MOV, .WMV, .AVI) that can be uploaded when you export your video na. :)

Video editing is also my hobby!
Kapag may nagustuhan akong song especially love songs, madalas kong nilalagay yung mga favorite couples ko sa vid =)

Gumagamit ako ng Cyberlink Powerdirector 11 kasi madali lang mag edit ng videos dun!
