Bloated Tummy in Puppies

Hi!

My 3-week old puppies are usually in a rush to drink their milk (I bottle feed them coz their mom's under medication), and I noticed that a number of them are bloated. Naaawa ako sa kanila because the bloated ones are always trying to throw up. Tapos I read pa an article that if the bloating isn't remedied, it can be fatal to young pups. I don't know what to do...

Thanks sis. I tried teaching them to feed off a shallow bowl / saucer and it works better than bottles. The bloating was caused I think coz of the air inside the bottle...

There are bowls with parang golf balls that help slowdown their eating/drinking. Meron nito sa tiendesitas. They look weird but they work daw.

Ps: try to feed them one at a time also so they wont compete for food.

I dont know if this would help, pero kasi after nila dumede, yung nanay would lick their tummies diba. From the chest down to their privates. This stimulates the pups to pupu. Im thinking, baka eto kelangan? If the mom doesnt do this, baka a little help from you is necessary. Again, im not sure. Naisip ko lang. Kasi pag pupu baka kasama na rin pag pass ng gas. Hehe

Yung burping a pup, di ko rin alam. Need to google it. =)

you can burp puppies by holding them upright tapos light na tapik-tapik sa likod after feeding. mararamdaman mo naman pag nag-burp na sila, parang babies lang hehe.

They usually poop on their own after feeding or minsan, tulog muna sila after feeding then tsaka sila magpu-poop pag-gising nila. Hehe! Di pa sila nagsosolids sis eh. 4 weeks na sila nung Wednesday. They're starting to grow teeth na nga eh. Kaya lang gusto ko muna sila ma-deworm bago ko i-introduce sa solids. Di lang ako makaalis ng house ngayon kasi may sakit househelp namin...

Ang cute! I'll look for those bowls pag napunta ako ulit sa Tiendesitas.

I feed them one at a time talaga sis kasi naloloka ako pag sabay-sabay. Nagkakagulo sila, talagang stampede kung stampede. Haha! So isa-isa ko lang sila kinukuha para i-feed from a saucer. Kelangan ko din bantayan the one I'm feeding kasi pag di binantayan, yung feet nya, sinasawsaw din dun sa saucer. Hahaha!

BTW, they lick each other's privates din pala so I have no problem with them peeing or pooping. Ang problema ko is cleaning up after them. LOL!

^ sis yun pups ko 3 weeks palang kumakain na ng cerelac kaya hindi bloated ang tummy, minsan i mix dog food tyaka milk yun favorite nila

^ Really? Hmmm. Anong klaseng Cerelac and dog food sis? Yung dog food, imamash sya sa milk, right? Yung "bloated-ness" nila don't last long naman na ngayon. About an hour after their feeding time ok na. But still... Hehe! Better safe than sorry.

okay naman yun mejo malaki ang tummy sis, yun baby cerelac okay na yun sis, pero mas okay yun dog food samin blinender ni hubs para madali eh hollistic yun dog food tapos puppy love milk, lumakas na nga yun 2 pups  eh sila lang natira sa 6 na magkakapatid

Thanks sis! I burp them na regularly right after feeding. Ang cute cute nila mag-burp! Haha!

One of our tenants who breeds dogs for a living suggested I buy Beef Pro for pups daw. It's good but not  expensive daw.
