« on: September 24, 2011, 06:34:23 pm »
Mga sis I really need help. Im actually a call center agent and I want to go back to school as well. I just dont know how I can handle it or how o balance my time. Im afraid na baka bumalik nga ako sa school tapos baka mamaya ibagasak ko lang lahat dahil sa work ko. I need money but I want to study. To those who also work and study please share your insights I really need you advice.Thanks. I will really appreciate to those who reply. :)

Hi, why don't you try home-based work? I have a friend who's into odesk. Working student din sya. graduate na sya ngayon. kung call center ka, i would suggest sign up ka sa odesk and look for technical support jobs, or data entry jobs, dollars per hour  ang sweldo mo dun. goodluck!

Ako sis, I was a working student din back when I was in UP Manila. It was hard and I was doing thesis pa at that time. But I had no choice kasi pinapaaral ko kasi sarili ko, buti na lang mababa lang tuition sa UP. I started when I was in 2nd year as student assistant. Nakaraos naman until 3rd year even I was earning 25/hour lang nung. But came 4th year, I applied in a coffee shop and got in. Of course, mas mataas kesa sa ineearn ko nung SA. So this is one of your options, apart from odesk which I think is a good idea, since hawak mo yung oras mo. I had a great time while working in Coffee Bean, stayed there for 7-8 mos. Just had to resign kasi a month na lang, gagraduate na ako, and I needed to finalize my thesis.

With workload, minimum of 4 hours and maximum of 7 hours. Usually 4 hours ako when I had classes but on weekends, ayun 7 hours talaga. Managers are understanding naman when it comes to working students eh.

sis, yung friend ko call center agent siya dati nung undergrad. hindi siya nagfu-full load sa acads so mejo matagal grumadweyt pero awa ng diyos nakatapos naman. nakakagimik-gimik pa siya nun. hehe.

proper time management is the key. you can also try what other sisses had suggested. apply in a coffee shop, tutorial centers or home-based jobs. raket lang ng raket!

good luck sayo, sis! kayang-kaya mo iyan ;)

Hats off to you!  I'm so glad na you still want to go back to school and finish your studies kahit na you're working already.  That takes a lot of dedication.  May mga tao kasi na once they start earning money e hindi na bumabalik, and though may kanya-kanyang reasons naman (not enough money, etc.), iba pa rin talaga kapag nakatapos ka, sayang kasi diba, nasimulan mo na.

Try mo oDesk, I know a couple of people who have day jobs tapos may 2nd job through oDesk.  Kailangan mo lang ng reliable PC and fast internet connection.  Good luck!  :)

Ako sis, I'm also a working student. I work 1hour (per student) a day as an Elem./HS Tutor, kaya di naman ako nahihirapan pagdating sa schedule.. pero if I were you, siguro 'wag ka na lang muna mag-full load sa school. Take ka mga pakonti-konting subjects para di ka mahirapan, and make sure na malapit yung workplace sa school na papasukan mo para maiwasang ma-late either sa school or work. God bless!
