taking care of your car
« on: June 13, 2012, 06:30:12 pm »
Hi.

Let's share tips on how you take care of your car.

Do you wax your brand new car? How often?

I saw some scratches kanina (very minor and hindi visible unless tingnan mo ng maagi), what I did was to apply a rubbing compound. Nawala din after but is this safe? Just saw the rubbing compound from my father's tool, yun kasi gamit nya.

^You prolly used a buffing solution (hopefully that's what it is hehe). Buffing solutions are good for minor scratches, yung basta hinde malalim na gasgas. It also makes the paint shinier. Be careful though with too much application kase nakakanipis ng paint coat yan in the long run.

Whatever I want, I get. If I can't, I don't stop TRYING.

^It's used lang kase pag mejo madame na gasgas. It can make the paint look shinier but it makes it thinner naman every use. Alagaan na lang din ng wax.

Whatever I want, I get. If I can't, I don't stop TRYING.

^Is your car manual or automatic sis? My car is automatic and naturuan naman ako ni hubby ng basics and na-observe ko na din sa kanya mga dapat ginagawa but most of the time, taga-report lang ako and sya ang nage-execute :p

With my automatic car, alaga sa atf fluid. Pag madalas daw kase natutuyuan ng atf, dun nagsisimula masira ang transmission. Ayoko na mangyari samin yan, nasiraan kame before ng transmission sa mistubishi lancer (pizza type) and ang mahal magpapalit :(

^mual sis. Nag-abroad kasi si hubby kaya sa kin iniwan. Minsan di ko na alam kung tama ba price na binabayadan ko kapag dinadala ko sa talyer kapag nasisira kasi wala talaga akong alam.

^Oh no :( Hirap nga ng ganyan sis. Sana trusted mechanic yan sis ah, kase ok na sana magbayad ka ng mejo mahal kesa naman mahirapan ka and as long as maayos ang pagkagawa. Baka you have guy friends or relatives na marunong sa car. Or better yet, try reading car forums and ask questions there. May sariling forums ang Honda, Mistubishi, Toyota etc because they have car clubs ganyan effect. They're very helpful basta sa certified members ka mag-ask ng questions and help. Yung hubby ko kase he buys and sells cars on the side. So minsan pag nagkakasakit ang car and mejo hinde sya familiar, nag-aask sya sa forum for recommendations.

Basta still within warranty period, i recommend having your car serviced sa casa. We prefer it this way talaga kesa sa mga banawe.

Re cleaning, regular car wash lang samin and by regular, i mean once a month lang. Haha. Silver kasi both our cars, di halata masyado ang alikabok.

Tire pressure is always checked pag nagpapa-full tank kami every 2 weeks.

Iwasan ang mga butas. Mag slow down sa humps. :) madami kasi akong nakikira na hindi madyado nagm-menor sa ganon.

^ we dont use a car cover. Dapat malinis ang kotse if you use this kasi your tendency to put it on the car and take it off is to drag it. If the car is dirty, yung dumi will be dragged together with the cover potentially scratching the car.

We just park in a covered area and if we park elsewhere, ensure walang tutulo sa car na mga dagta from trees or from dripping pipes.
