sis khymmm.. Not that way na pahiya in public..., as sis purple said, longer working hours, di masyado makapagchika chika while work, as in work kung work, then some bosses are really very demanding.. buti na lang boss ko steady lang.. syempre minsan minsan may mga krung krung moments ang boss, i think di naman maiiwasan yun but meron talaga as in terrorist.. yung isa ko friend na Manager sa 7-11 here.. as in may sakit siya di makapasok eh walang ta-tao dun sa store.. as in "I don't Care" si Area manager nila.. eh pwede naman siguro tumawag sa ibang store kung may mapapahiram na staff. My father naman before (hiwalay na sila ni mother), di kasi nakapasok for 1 day kasi yung nanay ko biglang ni-rush sa hospital yung boss niya fired agad siya kasi AWOL daw... though nag sorry naman siya at pinakita niya yung hospitalization docs, wala pa rin..

Hi mga sis! Our company has a sister company in SG. And biglang nagkaron ng hiring. Last week ko lang nalaman and i was recommended right away by my supervisor. Positive naman response ng SG company and sent an email if i'm interested to join his team. So I said yes. This afternoon, they emailed me back and told me na yung HR will contact me for the necessary documentations needed. I never expected na ganun kabilis since yung 2 ko dating kasama sa office na nauna na (2010 yung isa, April this year nakapagstart yung isa sa SG), hindi naman ganito naging process since ininterview pa sila while sa akin, they will not interview me na daw since i was "highly recommended" daw. Yung passport ko kasi hindi pa naman expired pero single name ko pa. Ok na ba yun and attach my MC na lang or dapat talaga i-renew ko na para married name na nakalagay? Sa province pa kasi ako and ang tagal ng passport processing dito since target date nila for me to start is mid July.

^tsutsat, it's better if you have your passport changed with your new surname. Strict din sila sa documentation. Baka yan lang ang maging problema mo pagpunta dito, sayang naman. Pwede ka siguro ipa-expedite yung processing, yung rush pero may bayad

@khymmm, if you're a fresh grad or if you don't mind na parang back to square one ka, pwede mo siguro itry since shouldered naman ng company yung living expenses mo. Agree ako kay chinkee. you can actually use this as your stepping stone to get another job in sg. Nung nagstart ako dito, nasa sales ako at sigurado akong chicken pa lang yung experience nung 19yr old sa giordano sa naging working hours at working environment ko dun sa sales job na yun. I used that job to stay in sg at naghanap ng bagong work. Ngayon, I'm very happy to have found a new company..I'm in a better company, I have a better position, i like my colleagues and i like my bosses. Take note, this is a local company pero okay mga bosses. Depende pa din talaga kung san kang company mapadpad, swerte ka kung mabait yung boss, malas na lang pag yung mga pangit ugali napuntahan mo.

^sis tsutsat, Congrats :-) Actually sis, i've heard of that cases na rin.. parang ang nangyari is "natransfer" lang ng "area".. like one of my Ofcmate (nung OJT ako) sa pinas.. she was about to marry her fiance here tapos nag-ask siya sa HR nila kung meron ba dito opening yung sister company nila or pwede kaya siya i-transfer dito, God's blessing talaga at meron opening plus Highly Recommended din siya since from her OJT dun na siya sa company plus her good credentials na rin.

Also sis, if you have time asikasuhin mo na yung docs mo sa pinas pa lang. Kasi yung mga documentation dito alam ko si-ne-send pa din nila sa pinas that's why mas matagal ang processing time dito... baka yun pa magpa-delay (*sana naman not*) if in case you work here.

@sis av pareho tayo. What makes it more difficult is im bread winner. So kung magreresign ako from present work at hindi makahanap ng work there. Patay pag looser dun. Hirap pa naman maghanap ng work sa pinas. Pero why not take the risk din. You will never know unless you try

i've met a lot of pinoy engineers na din dito but civil, electrical, mechanical
I know few ECE grads but nasa IT (isa na ako dun).
kaya di ko rin sure kung in demand ba dito mga ECEs.
my officemate (local) is an ECE grad too, his previous job was communications engr but nagshift din siya sa IT. But now, he wants to go back to engineering and according to him, madami naman openings siyang nakikita online.

try mo sis to apply online. malay mo, if you have the experience and the skill, you might get hired from Pinas pa lang.

^thank you sis. I've been working for 4.3 years now. Eto nga at puro pagssend ng CVs ang ginagawa ko.. hahaha!

Kung may malaking ipon lang sana ko gusto ko din mag walk in sa sg. Mas mabilis daw yun kaso as in sugal nga daw talaga ng time, effort and money..

i suggest aside from sending resumes online sa mga job sites, since meron naman nakalagay don na email address ng company mismo, you can also send it directly (so 2x ang sending mo - 1 sa jobsite, another sa email). just create a good covering letter as your email then attach the resume. ganon ginawa ni hubby non.

pero, swertehan na talaga. yong isang kilala namin sa SG, uuwi na lang daw muna than maghanap siya ng work don kasi di na raw nirerenew contract nila.

na-reject ng MOM yong renewal so di na siya nirenew. Pero there are also some company ngayon not renewing employees on contractual basis.

ah okay, thanks. due for renewal na din kasi ako end of this year. ang alam ko meron isa na-reject yung pass nya tapos umalis na sya sa company pero ang alam ko gustong i-appeal ng company yung tao lang yung sumuko

hi sis, is that amount per month? Anyway, assuming its per month, that is around 10k SGD na rin..

And I think it is possible. Again, first, depende sa company size yan syempre, I know MNCs who pay for their GMs around 15k SGD per month.. pero usually this persons are from Europe, America and Australia, Although I also know some SMEs na sometimes bonuses can account to around $50k, syempre depending on the Income for their fiscal year.

Next, depende din yan sa applicant/employee, If you have Extensive Experience and Educational Background regarding sa aapplyan mo, then you can fight for that kind of salary diba?

Last, (although I think this might only be minor If you can really show your employer what you're capable of) employment competition in SG is very tough. You may be faced with other applicants na with similar education and experience but who are asking for a bit lower compensation... As we say, business is business, some companies might hire those who are asking for lower pay to save cost then, i-t-train na lang nila extensively dun sa company.

Source of information: My mom kasi is working as a HR. Me naman, sa IT sa isang real estate company, but yung kasamahan ko na nasa Marketing dept, sometimes MNCs would come to us asking for relocation services for their expats and syempre when they present documents, nakalagay dun kung magkano yung per month na salary nung employee...
