If you don't mind, what's the highest blood sugar you've had? Are you taking medications? Ako kase I've been getting my blood sugar for almost 2 weeks now, before and after meals. I still eat the same except di na ko masyado kumakain ng sweets, nandadaya pa nga ako paminsan. I'm not taking any medications yet pero may feeling ako I'll be given metformin kase halos twice taas ng blood sugar ko. Wala ring specific diet binigay sakin basta no more than 2 cups of rice a day. Madalas pa nga kame kumain sa labas and nag Pizza Hut kame sobrang nag sipke sugar ko after. Walking helps a lot, kapag kumakain kame sa labas after eating lakad kame and di naman lumalagpas blood sugar ko sa 110, most of the time nasa 90+ lang. Kaya any physical activity after meal helps a lot kahit house chore lang. Sabi naman ng ob ko aabot lang kame sa insulin kapag umabot ng 200 blood sugar ko. Buti na lang nakikita ko blood sugar ko everyday atleast bago ako umabot on my 20+ weeks controlled ko na.

Highest reading i got was 186. I attributed this to my eating white rice so i stopped eating white rice and white bread altogether.

^ wow, no white rice and white bread. white bread i can give up but white rice, no! i dont like the taste of brown rice. haha.

i remembered lang. during my first week kasi i was asked to do calorie counting muna, no insulin yet. my endo said 1700 calories per day. di pwedeng super kulang like 1500. i had to be as close to 1700 as possible.

i had na all my 3 meals plus 3 snacks including my bedtime snack, i was still way below. so i ate 5 teaspoonfuls of ice cream as an added bedtime snack to meet the 1700 calorie count. sympre the next morning super high blood sugar reading. haha. i think 180+ din.

i used to eat half a cup of rice lang for lunch and dinner but white rice. and my breakfast was usually pandesal from the neighborhood bakery so panay hangin yan and di uso and wheat. hehe.

then my OB pala didnt prescribe mga anmum and the like, regular full cream milk was ok, i took cowhead na dark blue. my endo asked me to ask my OB if i could take calcium supplements instead, like caltrate, so that the glass of milk daily wont eat up my calorie requirement kasi di naman nakakabusog ang 1 glass of milk daw.

and nakakababa nga din if you eat green, leafy veggies but i had to regulate those kasi high in iron yan and i already had very high iron levels.

Sisses anong fruits pala ang kinakain nyo? Ang hilig ko kasi sa oranges eh diba matamis yun. Ang apples ba okay lang or matamis din?
White rice din ako every lunch and dinner pero 1 cup lang naman. Pag breakfast and merienda wheat bread with raisins. Minsan naman nilagang itlog or oatmeal cookies.
Though ok naman yung ogtt ko, pero natatakot pa rin ako kasi diabetic ang dad ko. Kaya lang minsan kasi pag hindi ako nakakain ng something sweet parang feeling ko nanghihina ako e.

^ i used to eat the usual fruits but in moderation. Like if i ate grapes, 10-12 pieces lang.

My dad is also diabetic and per his doctor, desserts should be taken as dessert and not as snacks.

Sisses ano ba dapat kainin kapag may GD? Para mapabilis pag baba ng sugar level? I had my ogtt last sat saddly mataas siya though hindi naman ako diabetic dahil nga pregnant ako. Eh ang hilig hilig ko pa naman sa sweets

^ Eat brown rice instead of white rice, wheat bread instead of white bread. Take ampalaya juice. Iwas sa sweets.

nagkaron ako dati ng GD. overweight kasi ako then pinagdiet ako ng ob ko. then i lost 7kg. then clium fiber ako araw-araw. panay gulay ako then iwas sa matatamis. then panay galaw din ako para magburn ng calories. i had series of OGTT. yong last ko maganda ang resulta. i dont know kung dahil lumagpas sa 8hrs ang fasting ko. or dahil nagsi-sip ako ng water pag uhaw na uhaw na ko. kasi nabasa ko na allowed naman ang small amount of drinking water during the fasting bago mag-OGTT. halos kabisado ko na yong resulta sa itsura pa lang ng blood ko sa syringe pag kinukunan ako during the procedure. pag nakita ko parang malapot yong dugo at misan may bula-bula pa. for sure, mataas ang blood sugar ko. pag calm lang at smooth ang itsura ng dugo ko, ok sya. pinag-CAS din ako to make sure kung ok ang measurements ng baby at so far ok naman measurements. wala naman nakitang defects  :)
