Tax Identification Number (TIN)
« on: April 04, 2012, 07:24:30 pm »
Got my TIN year 2002, was single then, employed in a private company and now married na ako and working overseas.  Kumuha kami ng condo and they are asking me about my TIN, if i have an existing daw, need nila photocopy of proof and dully filled out and signed.. kaso di ko na mahanap, mahanap ko man, single pa ako dun. Can i just fill up the form BIR 1904 form to get a new TIN with my married name?  Or if i can still use my existing TIN kahit na single pa ako nun, where can i get a copy of it (aside from asking a copy from my old company? as much as possible sana ayaw ko ng kumontak dun :-\) Wala kasi akong makitang details sa website ng BIR. Help naman po. TIA!

sis, punta ka dun sa revenue district office (RDO) ng BIR kung saan ka registered... kung di mo alam, normally kung saan malapit yung company office mo, dun ka nila ireregister.. pwede kang humingi ng copy nung record mo or apply for TIN ID or kung may old tax certificate ka, kunin mo na lang dun.. minsan nakalagay din yan sa company ID eh

caveat: do not get another tin kasi crime yun

You can call or email the BIR to get your TIN number (as long as you're certain that you already have one ha). If you're not certain, you can also call or email them. That's what I did - kasi nga it's prohibited under the law to have more than one TIN numbers. Sumagot naman sila  :)

Nagpa-update lang ako nung nagpalipat ako ng RDO. Initially registered kasi ako sa province and I've been working sa Manila na and dito na rin mas convenient for me to file the ITR. Naka-enumerate naman sa Form 1905 yung reasons for registration update. :)

I guess, you just need to present the old one... and ask them to just update your information.
