Hi mga sis, si Doc Jay, he quoted me 50k for ear cartilage for bridge and 25k for tip so sure na gumagawa din sya nito. But, Dr. Magallona said, the cartilage for bridge is not that smooth as compared with goretex. He used to do cartilage before. Another doctors I know of this expertise are Dr. Conrado de gracia and Dr. Valerio. they are advocates of own tissues for rhinoplasties. Hope this helps.

mas natural looking ba talaga ang goretex compared to silicon? in general... i've read na goretex is more natural looking... pero i also read that silicon looks better in females and goretex naman sa guys.. or depende talaga sa skill ng surgeon yan?

pansin ko sa goretex, medyo bilugan yung sa part ng bridge. Yung walang edges yung side. pansin ko lang ha (Katrina Halili and yung mga kilala ko na nagpa-goretex from  Threads 3,4 pa yata yun dito sa girltalk, ganun din). Kaya nga siguro medyo musculine ang nose ni Katrina Halili? Ganun ba? SIguro depende sa doctor. Ang alam kong style nang doctors dati (sila Alex de Leon, James Joaquino, Shimmian pa ang popular threads nun), ang goretex hindi aabot sa tip. bridge lang tapos sa tip, cartilage or kung may [textspeak!]-anong hocus pocus ang gagawin ng doctor sa sarili mong cartilage ng nose. Mas complex. Hindi ko na alam ang approach ni Doc. Jay of Faces and Curves.

Ang silicone, pag sakto ang shape na ginawa sa iyo ng doctor, ang ganda ganda ng outcome. Ganda ganda talaga! sobrang rarampa ka at mukhang natural na natural.. na maganda... however.... wait ka lang ng 2 years, ninipis na nga ang skin mo at medyo nahahalata na... actually pagdating sa halata, ang makakahalata baka ikaw lang din, sarili mo rin kasi conscious ka. Baka yung ibang tao hindi. Siguro mga 10 years pa nila mahahalata.

May parang nabasa ako na approach ni DOc. Jay na binabalutan niya ng cartilage ang silicone para hindi maging defined yung edges? (most likely, alam kasi ni doc ang long-term problem na ninipis ang skin at makikita na rin ang edges ng foreign implant)

Example, si Alice Dixson nung umuwi bagong dating ng Canada para sa Hampaslupa teleserye, ayun obvious na obvious ang implant at tabingi na... then after 2 weeks or so, humarap sa camera ang lola niyo at ang ganda ganda na ulit!

Si Charlene Gonzales din, dumarating rin sa point na bakat na bakat na ang implant and then after 2 weeks din, OK na ulit sa The Buzz.

Ang opinion ko lang, sa akin lang,  between goretex and silicone, ang lesser of 2 evils is SILICONE talaga (I-shape), maganda ang OUTCOME, pag na-infect mabilis tanggalin at hindi masisira ang nose mo, pwede mo ng i-keep nose mo kahit walang implant afterwards, kelangan lang nating mag-research lahat kung pano ma-a-address ang shrink-wrapping kung pano to ginagawa ni Alice at Charlene, now.

Cartilage for me is very intensive pagdating sa surgery. Last resort ko na yun.

sis insekyora i agree. though i have researched many western doctors who performed operations on asians and no, they do not exaggerate, since they are licensed and smart enough to understand facial proportions based on ethnicity.

i just really pray sa pilipinas maging ganito yung method para marami ang makaenjoy ng ganitong dekalidad na serbisyo.

you're right. Meron naman sa kanila alam ang proportion, pero usually ang Pinay nose kasi dapat mas maliit pa rin. Example ko si Lani Misalucha, proportion naman sa face niya, pero hindi na siya mukhang Asian now. Sa california niya pinagawa.

Si Dr. Conrad de Gracia (cartilage) yata ng Medical City ginagawa ito, kaso hindi sumasagot sa emails ko nuon, hindi ma-kontak lolo niyo tsaka yung surgeon diyan sa Armed Forces parang Juan pangalan niya or Sanchez apelyido, yun cartilage yun.

insekyora - yung cartilage wont affect your ears/ rib cage?... kapag rib cage magkakascar ka sa abdomen db... sa ears naman, hindi mo pd galawin for a few days gaya ng ilong mo? pero no change sa itsura ng ears mo? hmm... parang sa Korea ko na gsto... kaso you would need a Korean friend para makamura... as long as tourist ka mamahalan ka nila... tpos masungit sila after the surgery... hindi maganda after surgery care nila...  i read it in a forum somewhere long time ago... pero kung may local friend ka, binibigay nila local prices and mas accommodating sila...

Girls, thank you sa mga inputs.. i just want to know from all of you., Sinong doctor ang magaling sa ALAR PLASTY (regarding scars)... because i have seen 2 rhino patients of my breast aug Doctor. Their nose are so beautiful and proportion to their face but Super TURN OFF ang alar scars..... 

I want to confirm if Doc Jay's work on alars do not show much scars. thank you gurls.

i see... grabe sis, with all these info medyo natatakot ako magpagawa ulit ng nose... ganun naman ako ever since, game na game tpos bigla aatras tpos game ulit... ahahhaa... although never got far enough as to even consult any surgeon... ako kc super perfectionist ako... gsto ko one shot perfect shot... ayaw ko ng mga mistakes mistakes... i dont like the idea of revision surgery... haaaaaaaaaay.....

Sis ang humble opinion ko dito, since nasimulan mo ang research mo dito, hindi ka pa rin titigil sa ganitong pattern. gusto mo ayaw mo gusto mo ayaw mo, pero at the end of the day, gusto mo talaga sis! kasi andito ka pa rin. naghihintay ka lang ng fully maka-convince sa iyo. Pero always remember imperfect ang lahat sa mundo, mahirap maging perfectionisa lahat ng endeavor meron talagang risk (naks!).

Ako, kahit ngayon feeling ko numinipis, yung mga may kakilala sa akin hindi nila pansin. And, wala akong pagsisisi. No regrets. Gusto ko lang malaman sino nag-me-maintain nung kay Charlene at kay Alice Dixson  Pero sabi ng lahat ng kausap ko, hayaan ko daw, natural naman. O.A. daw ako.

Kasi sis, sobrang laki talaga ng igaganda mo. Sobrang laki ng confidence na ibibigay sa iyo. Kahit mag-pony-tail or hair-up ka palagi, taray, harap mo face mo sa lahat! Ang laking bagay ng magandang ilong sa Pinay. Mag-i-standout ka . Di ba minsan kahit wish mo lang one day mag-mukha kang artista? eto araw araw! super rewarding, kasi may psychological benefits din tingin ko eh, kaya tayo nagpa-ayos ng nose kasi may mga psychological trauma tayo na pinagdaanan mula pagkabata sa katutukso sa atin ng "pango" "pango" and yan ang dahilan kung bakit nag-uusap usap tayo sa forum na ito sa ngayon. Parang support group ika nga! Gaganahan kang mag-salamin lagi after 3 weeks ng surgery.

Sis, kung sa akin lang, OK pa rin ang silicone (yung I-shape) yan ang pinaka-REVERSIBLE. Yung iba no turning back na, ma-re-repair pero di na mababalik sa dating ilong. Yung ibang technology, puro beta stage pa, testing period pa. Goretex parang around 10 years pero ang silastic 50+ years na tested. (yung mga medpore wag mo na iconsider super tigas daw). May silicon tayo sa katawan (you know Silica?) our body actually needs this along with calcium. Kaya kahit nasa ilong natin, tolerated and kilala ng system. Ang goretex on the other hand is a synthetic fabric.

Kung magaling ang doctor, masisiyahan ka talaga. So far naman, hindi naman mga doctor wak-wak pinag-uusapan natin dito. Puro mahuhusay.

Sis, baka sa kaka-urong sulong mo baka umabot ka hanggang thread 342 nito, at mga anak na namin ang kausap mo rito just kidding.

to sum it up, sa mga gustong maging maayos ang ilong at ipa-fix, IT'S ALL WORTH IT as in!   You will be happy.  (basta sa tamang doctor ha at sabihin niyo yung gusto niyo sa doctor at sundin ang instructions niya)

Hi tartyjud! Im on my 6th week post op.. I can say magaling talaga si Doc Jay sa Alar.. If there's one thing I really like about my nose it's the trim he did on my alars. I really commend him on that.  Alam mo before, yan din yung kinakatakot ko na magmukhang pinisil yung ilong ko or mukhang pinilit paliitin tapos yung mga scars na yan. Pero no, ginawan niya ng curve yung nose ko kasi dati mukha siyang kweba hehe I can even send you pictures just to prove it and for you to compare.
Now with the scars, True mahirap talaga siya takpan. Thing is, maganda nga yung pag-shapee sa alar ko kaso yung stitches kasi nasa paligid ng butas ng nose ko so visible talaga siya (Iba pa yung nasa gilid ng nose). Now what Im going to suggest is, wag kayong excited masyado tanggalin yung mga dead skin cells while recovering (1st week). Kasi ako nun, gusto ko na matanggal lahat ng traces nung stitches so over over naman ako sa paglinis tapos tinatanggal ko talaga yung mga scabs forcibly. Of course lilinisin mo yung wound, pero kasi ako noon sobrang halos i-scrub ko na ng cotton buds yung area para lang matanggal yung mga dried out skin. So ayun, kung ano yung mga tinuklap ko before dun din sa spot na yun exactly lumabas yung scars although its not that super obvious naman.. Maliit lang naman siya, so ngayon sobrang alaga tuloy ako ng Scar Reform Cream hopefully it'll lessen the visibility of the scars. Hope this helps!

hello everyone. i had alar and tip with dr. jay first wk of april. i am grateful na maayos naman ang surgery. even post op was good. doc said mabilis daw ako mag heal, thank God. and yung scars ko, honestly, di sya noticeable. walang nakakapansing iba. pero kung OC kang tao, baka mabother ka about it kasi may konting redness. but for me, di ko nga tinatakpan ng makeup and okay naman ang itsura.

as for the result, it's too early to tell. i cant say yet. actually, me, my bf and my friend do not notice any diff. my family on the other hand said nag improve daw ang shape nang konti

two wks pa lang naman and 3rd month pa ma reveal real shape so im hoping for the best. im happy doc didnt overdo it.

i guess may pros and cons ang natural looking. the upside is, di obvious na nagpagawa ka, ayaw ko ang pisil nose look. ang downside is, di malaki ang diff dahil natural nga lang, so di super laki improve ng itsura mo, konti lang, so do rhinoplasty wi realistic expectations possible din kasi na wala kasi akong silicone or goretex kaya di naman drastic ang change. pero kung dati 7/10 ang nose ko, sa ngayon 7.5 /10 pa lang.

Thank you Sis Ishie. yes please, pwede mo ba isend sakin pictures? ihatecats_v@yahoo.com. also, kung may close up shot ka nung scar? hindi ko kasi ipapa alam sa bahay na magpapagawa ako eh. kaya ayaw ko talaga ng scar. since madami nagttestify na subtle and natural looking gumawa si Doc Jay.

I think, for healing.. smokers tend to form scars compared to non smokers.
I have another question, when is it best to put scar cream after suture removal? what type of cream is the best?

Hi Sis Andrea, thank you for sharing..=) i think your nose looks just fine, kaya konti lang ang inayos ni Doc. Ano bang sabi ng Bf mo? kung possitive ang reactions niya, be happy.=) kasi siya lagi ang tumitingin sayo. Hindi naman siya mag lie sayo diba?

my bf said no diff daw lol. pero kasi lagi ako naka makeup e, i always contoured my nose.

my family who see me everyday since i was a kid, and always without makeup, sila naka notice ng slight difference
