^ sis i was there too and about to rant as well. maybe next time let's look for a baking seminar na may bayad na lang. at least dun mas mukang okay and mas organized. nakakainis lang kasi super excited ako to learn. pero parang wala din akong natutunan. ang ingay as in! kanya kanyang tayuan na yung mga tao, so hindi na ko nakigulo.

parang magiging malambot ata sis miksha yung pie or dough kung liquid ang gagamitin mo instead of butter.

I've read a lot of recipes using oil for pie crust. and they can still be flaky.  :) one article even said it's easier for beginners. so, yes you can use oil for making pie crust.

as for the cookie dough, one article said that if the recipe calls fo creaming the butter and sugar, then the answer is no. and usually it's a bit denser than the usual cookie dough that's made with butter. if the recipe says only to whip or mix the butter (in your case, oil) with the sugar then it's a yes. alternatively, you can use yogurt or applesauce in place of butter.

you're welcome. :)

yogurt is very versatile, you can use it to replace butter or egg. :)

i'm not quite sure about using yogurt for butter and eggs all at the same time. pwedeng applesauce or any pureed fruit for butter then yogurt for eggs.

please see this link for more information about substituting eggs when baking:

Hello mga baking sissies! :) I made chocolate brownies last night. First time ko kasi laging cupcakes yung ginagawa ko. I'm not sure kung masyadong manipis kasi yung gawa ko kaya ganon. Ano kayang pwedeng gawin para maimprove ko next time? :)

ganyan din palagi yung brownies ko pag kina-cut ko. ang ginawa ko last time gumawa ako, after taking out the pan in the oven, pinalipas ko muna ang 10mins then i put the pan in the freezer para mabilis mawala ang init. then after 30mins, i took it out from the pan and i used plastic knife to cut it. hindi na nag-break ang brownies ko! by the way, i bought my plastic knife at sm for only 45 pesos...

BROWNIES

Ingredients:
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Directions
1.   Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch square pan.
2.   In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the chocolate mixture. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
3.   Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies set up. Do not overbake! Cool in pan and cut into squares.
