for now, i refuse to spend money on these:

gadgets. i already have every gadget i need, i don't need the latest ones.
I don't mind if my HP laptop (which i'm using right now) is already 6 yrs.old because it is still serving me well.

car. good thing i don't know how to drive. Owning one entails a lot of costs: parking, maintenance, and gas. Though I might consider this in the future should the need arise.

make-up. hindi kasi ako mahilig  ;D

bags, shoes and clothes na imitation. better buy local original ones rather than those.

nice thread. i refuse to regularly spend on...

overrated and overpriced coffee which i can pay for a meal.
gym memberships because i'd rather jog outdoors
pricey overnight hotel accommodations, well, maybe except for my future honeymoon. ;D
expensive restaurants. i hate getting a huge bill for so small choices or servings of food.
branded clothes. as they say, it's not what you wear but how you wear it.
jewelry. this is so unnecessary. wala akong hilig talaga.
salon hair treatments.
anything imitation.

when it comes to gadgets, if i could afford it, i would buy. again, IF i could afford it. i'd rather get a high end gadget than a low quality one. but this should be a rare splurge. what makes buying gadgets impractical is the need to constantly upgrade once a new model is out, which of course does not entice me. i buy what i only need, which is a cellphone (which also serves as my camera and music player) and a laptop.

Gadgets, especially cellphone - I'm not the type who needs the latest, most high tech cellphone. I'm old school in this way - my cellphone is really for just text and calling, I don't surf the internet or play apps with it. I also don't own a tablet (iPad or Samsung), because I have a laptop which I use for work and for my lifestyle, I think it's redundant to have both. My only necessity is an iPod, because I go to the gym or run outdoors a lot and I can't workout without music.

Designer handbags - I know that some people consider them as investments, but personally I don't think I can ever get myself to spend 40k or even more for a handbag no matter who designed it. Besides, I've tried window shopping in some of the luxury stores in Greenbelt, I can't even find anything that I like.

Expensive gadgets (e.g iphone, ipad, dslr)- i just can't take shelling out more than 20K for depreciable assets.

Car - for me hassle ang car because of additional expenses you have to incur: gasoline, parking fee, spare parts, yearly insurance. I can take a cab if I really need a private transportation

Cable, Internet subscription We dont watch tv a lot and on weekdays I worked so I dont need an internet everyday. Okay sa kin yung 100 per week, 3 days unlimited internet every weekends.

Expensive clothes/ bag/ shoes
- next year luma na kahit matibay pa, or sawa na ko sa design. i prefer variety e

Insurances - I'm still single, insurance are just an added expenses to me.Besides, I have an insurance from the company.

Things I refuse to buy:

1. Apple products and any other products that force you to buy a new one once the battery is dead and can't be replaced without wrecking the gadget or force you to buy their expensive accessories
2. The latest "hot" gadget. Mabilis malaos ang technology today. I have to be absolutely sure na need ko yung isang item before buying. Wait a few months, bagsak presyo din yan.
3. Trendy clothes. Trends come and go ang mahal pa. Better dress stylish yet comfortable.
4. Very high heels or platform shoes - di kaya ng feet ko. Same with stilettos.
5. Whitening products - absolutely rubbish products in my opinion. We need to get over the obsession that to be beautiful is to have white skin. I'd rather have perfectly healthy skin with no black- or whiteheads and with a slight tan. I'm too pale already :(
6. Junk jewelry - I have somewhat sensitive skin especially my ears.
7. Expensive restaurants where they give you a tiny amount of food for the price you pay. I love to eat a hearty meal :D

1. Gourmet coffee. I do have a penchant for milk tea, though. so I guess tat defeats the purpose.

2. Full-price airfare tickets. I always go for budget carriers, and even with that, I still wait for a sale.

3. Gadgets. My iPod Touch is four years old. My laptop is five years old. My iPod shuffle is three years old. Only my digital camera and smartphone are less than a year old, but they're all basic with entry-level features.

4. Gambling. No way, not at all.

5. Printed books. I can find their digital equivalents at half the cost.

6. Magazines. I read them in beauty parlors while getting my hair and nails done, but that's about it.

7. Shoes. I wear comfortable flats which I can get for cheap prices at the SM department store.

8. Car. I live in a condo just five minutes away from where I work. We have a rarely used family car which I could use, if only I knew how to drive. Can't be bothered, though, because I have a temper problem. I'll just add to the crazy drivers on the street.

i dont want to spend money on:

* latest mobile dahil sobrang bilis magdepreciate ng value, what's important is magkapag text at call
* dining out on expensive restos
* signature bags/shoes/clothes/make up
* full airfare cost

on the other hand, i am very willing to spend money on:

*  car, because service ito ng anak ko sa school at may baby kami para hindi siya mahirapan sa pagcommute kung pupunta sa doctor or other places.  I don't want her to experience tulad ng sa ate nya noon na pag may emergency ay wala kaming mahiraman ng sasakyan papunta sa doctor.
*  baby stuff like avent bottles and other avent products, safe para kay baby
*  school for my kids
*  house renovation
* gold as an investment

pagdating sa akin kuripot mode  ;) but for hubby and kids walang limit...  :D
It's not easy loving someone from a DISTANCE but the PAIN of being far draws the love closer, the longing to see THE ONE you love reaffirms in the heart that the love is FOR REAL...

1) Iphone or any other Apple product. I think this brand is overrated and I could have the same functionality and quality (and sometimes more) on a gadget that's half the price (windows phones, maybe android). Actually, I'm mostly pertaining to phones since I don't care for tablets or laptops at the moment.

2) On the other end naman, super cheap-o products na sobrang sirain or pangit ang performance. Maling pagtitipid. I only made this mistake once when I bought a Cherry mobile phone.

3) Already built desktop computers. I could always have a trusted friend build me cheaper one with better parts.

4) Gambling. Not fun for me.

5) As others have said, cable tv. Di lang talaga sulit when you're out of the house most of the time.

6) Mga wheatgrass, supplements at kung ano ano pang *no approved therapeutic claims* at *human nature* products. Gagastusin ko na lang sa pagkaing masustansya.

Postpaid subscriptions with cellular phones. Takot ako ma-overcharge. Sa prepaid, kahit inubos nila, hanggang dun lang iyon.

Gadgets - iphone ( important for me is naseserve yung primary purposes ng phone, i.e. call and text)
Postpaid load - mas nakakatipid ako pag prepaid
