When you gave birth, how long bago kayo naligo?

Hi sis,

tanong ko naman, meron kasi kasabihan sa chinese, na after manganak, mga 1 month after bago sila naliligo, para daw di mabinat and all.

Yung strictest rule nun is actually pati daliri mo bawal mabasa. pero yung iba, naghuhugas naman daw ng kamay.

I have a friend na parang nagsisisi kasi niligo nya daw agd after nya manganak, now yung mga likod likod nya, balakang, etc laging masakit.

Sa mga mommies here, how long after nyo manganak after nyo maligo? and sa mga TTC/pregnant women naman, how long nyo iniisip bago maligo after manganak kayo?

I always bathe the soonest I can. Usually the day after. I've 4 kids, all via NSD. Di ko matitiis not bathing, esp for THAT long!

The day after I give birth sabi ni OB I can take a bath na pero since ayaw ako payagan ng mom ko I waited for 3 days before taking a bath.

Sabi rin ng OB ko I can take a bath na agad but I listened to my mom and my tita to wait for at least a week. My first bath was with pinakuluan ng dahon ng bayabas hahaha! Baka daw kasi "mabinat" kaya tiniis ko talaga.

may advantage ba talaga pag ganyan katagal???

If whole body bath, right after lumabas na ako ng hospital. It was 3 days after I gave birth. Masakit pa kasi yung tahi and hindi pa ako masyado makagalaw.

less than 12 hours after giving birth. Hahawakan niyo ba baby ninyo if you're dirty? eewww

^my thoughts exactly!!! Plus with all the blood & sweat (from laboring), yikes! No way. Correct me if I'm wrong ha. I don't believe in binat etc. IMO, if there's no scientific explanation, I don't follow it. Superstitions, "kasabihan", and the like. More often than not, I've noticed, the older generation IMPOSES this on us. Though with my eldest, I had the most difficult healing, my mother-in-law gave me the bayabas thing, too. Heard of its healing properties na way back. Tried it once. After that, I just went back to my betadine & ointments.

For my first delivery, nagpashampoo ako on my 4th day + sponge bath lang then after a week and 1/2, ligo na talaga, nicover lang yung wound ko

^^yeah literally blood and sweat. my ob said it's ok naman as long as its warm bath. once nawala hilo ko, i took a long warm bath. nakakawala din ng pagod and it gives you extra strength for the long nights with the baby. btw i gave birth normally for both of my kids. i just dont know how it is with CS.

i had my son via cs, sa asian, took a quick shower the day after delivery.  yung dressing nung wound was replaced by my doctor.  wala naman ako na feel na masamang nangyari, he's now 5 years old.

i gave birth thru nsd, and i took a bath AGAD, as in the moment na natransfer na ako sa  room ko bumangon ako and went straight to the bathroom, although the nurses advised na wag muna kasi baka mahilo... di ko matiis, sa recovery room pa lang sobrang uncomfortable na kasi ang feeling, as in ang lagkit lol and i dont believe in binat din

oo nga e.. di ko maisip yung 1 month na di maliligo na yun.. di ba pag nga nagparebond, 4 days lang walang ligo yung buhok pero anlagkit na pano pa kaya kung 1 month!

tingin ko pag sinunod ko yang one month na yan, malamang maging solo ko na yung kwarto at yung asawa ko sa sala na matulog hehe

I gave birth thru cs nag sponge bath ako ng warm water sa hospital then after that almost a week and a half akong walang ligo. My in-laws are super traditional so old school kung school, with matching hilot and bayabas. Everything was asar except the hilot part which is like a 10-day massage spa.

i gave birth via CS. took a bath a week after my delivery. OB ko ang nag-advise sa akin non.

CS ako. naligo ako ng bongga after 1 week, although sabi ng ob ko pwede na after 4 days. pinalagyan ko ng tegaderm yung tahi para makaligo ako. nagpunas lang ako ng 1 week kasi ang hirap maligo dun sa hospital tsaka walang heater.

after giving birth, nun dinala na ako sa recovery room, I was advised by my attending nurse to take a bath, kasi mas maigi daw un to start the wound healing,  warm water nga lang daw

pero nun nakauwi nako, pinagbawalan na ako ng tita ko at mom ko na maligo esp with cold water...so punas punas muna ako ng pinagkuluan ng bayabas sa body tapos pinagkuluan din ang pang wash ko sa pempem together with betadine...one week ako di pinaligo. after a week, pinaligo na ako pero mainit na pinaglagaan ng bayabas pa din...di din ako pinaghuhugas ng malamig na tubig even sa hands at feet, uugatin daw un mga binti ko...

i did a full bath a day after i gave birth (normal delivery). my doctor and nurses said it was ok. what i regret was, i went to the supermarket with my husband after i was discharged ( 3 days after i gave birth), na-ambonan pa ako and it was spring so it was stlll
 a bit chilly outside. i was shivering after that. i thought mabibinat ako. buti naman hindi nangyari...

sinunod ko yung Gelai..almost 1 month ako no bath at all..punas punas lang ng maligamgam na water..lol

On my first delivery - normal - naligo ako on the 2nd day, sa hospital, in the morning, bago ako nadischarge ng 12 pm.

On my second delivery - via Csection - i took a full bath on the 3rd day, sa hospital bathroom din.

I asked the doctors and nurses if it was alright to take a bath, wala namang masama - old wive's tale lang na masama maligo, kasabihan lang ng matatanda kung baga. Para sa akin, kung wala namang medical prohibition, basta feel mo maligo, go!
