kakabalik ko lang galing bacolod kahapon. though di talaga travel ang purpose ko sa pagpunta ko doon nakalibot pa rin ako sa ilang tourist spots.

medyo mixed emotions ako sa bacolod people, though mas marami namang helpful.

sa eastview hotel kami nagstay ng officemate ko dahil doon din ginanap iyong seminar namin. maganda at malinis ang hotel. ok din ang staff nila though parang di sanay sa maraming guests dahil di nila agad nalilinis ang mga table sa cafe nila during breakfast.

buti rin at nagbibigay ng 10% discount ang merci's kaya medyo nakatipid kami sa pagbili ng pasalubong.

need itineraries for Bacolod - Iloilo - Guimaras tour. pa-share naman po mga sis sa mga nakapunta na. Dating po namin sa Bacolod is wednesday night last flight and back to Manila by Saturday 6:00 pm.

^been to bacolod two weeks ago for a friend's wedding. we stayed at planta hotel for one night and went back to manila the following day. we had no time going to the ruins. but we went malling - to rob and sm. rob has expanded na pala since the last time i was there, and its kinda similar to nuvali kasi al fresco ang dating - with wide open spaces, fountains and garden. we're supposed to go to mambukal but there was no more time as everyone was in a rush.

what i don't like is their airport. it's supposed to be new but the aircon is not functioning and parang walang maintenance ang pre-departure. there are so many flies at the airport lobby and at the cr outside.

been here july last year (2011), stayed in silay,at my officemate's cousin's place. nice ancestral house, narra talaga ang walls, ceiling, floor. the place was near balay negrense pero hindi na aku nag picture picture since may something daw duon.. then we always passed by the spooky trees, na ang kwento ng mga locals dun wag daw titignan or something, kaya you'll notice it na yun na lang ang trees within the vicinity. and even mga developer takot duon.. sino ang familiar sa story na ito, please share it naman. kasi naman ang kasama namin that time nag kwento midnight na so aku takot makinig at tumingin.

mas conservative ang place sa silay, pansin ko lang.
places we've been to- the ruins, sayang lang at maulan that time at hindi naman na witness na nagturn gold ang house nung 5pm ba yun or 6pm (memotry gap)
municipal hall- cool hang out place din pag medyo tight budget kasi nakaupo lang kami sa may flag pole while watching group of teenagers, dance practicing, parang sasali ata sa showtime

; and yung fountain nila.
lunch- aida's chicken (masarap dito at merun na din sa makati cinema square)
wag palampasin ang calea cafe - ang sasarap ng cakes nila dito mura pa

had dinner at hiksos (forgot the spelling) parang dampa ang dating

night out at safari ( forgot the spelling) pero ito daw ang hit ng gimikan, tama nga naman kasi ang dami tao at puro bagets ha..

san sebastian cathedral - nandito yung nuestra senora de regla - super pray kasama ku kasi like na niya magkababy.
and of course, malling rob and sm hehe
the best talaga ang may kasamang locals para kahit papano makaikot ikot

anong meron sa feb 15-19 sa bacolod, nagpapabook kasi ko ng hotel and nagrerequire na sila ng downpayment kasi peak season daw?

Taga Bacolod po ako, so baka makatulong

i think dahil valentines kaya fully booked ang mga hotels, although not sure..
recommended hotels:
l'fischer - pag medyo may budget

along main road
sugarland hotel
business inn
planta hotel
circle inn -dito tumira [textspeak!] cousin ko, 1800 [textspeak!] ang rum maganda na.. i also didnt expect na maganda pla sa loob, pero mdyo malayo na sa main road
O hotel

depende sa budget, marami ring hotels dito

tourist attractions:
1. Mambukal- mga 1 hr away from bacolod, sa taas ng bundok ito pero maganda din nman daan papunta dun.. may 2 swimming pools, sulfur pool (sobrang init na tubig galing sa mt. kanlaon), 7 waterfalls (pede nyong akyatin, hanap [textspeak!] kayo guide kasi medyo steep), green scenery..puro puno

2. The Ruins - sa Talisay, mga 30 min siguro from bacolod. its an old ancestral mansion na and natira ay [textspeak!] outside structure [textspeak!] nya. good for pics

3. San sebastian Cathedral- sa may plaza
4. Lagoon - pinakacenter ng city, may lagoon sa gitna at nandun din ang munisipyo ng negros
5. NGC- new government center, munisipyo ng bacolod.. bago kaya maganda pa

Food:
1. Inasal!! - kahit taga dito ako, ulit-ulitin ko pa rin. for authentic inasal, go to Manokan country.. its near SM. recommnded places are Aida's and Nena Rose. kng medyo gusto nyo aircon at resto type, Chicken house ( marami silang branches)
2. Pepe's - super sulit na pagkain.. you can eat a gourmet type meal for less than 200.. its in Sorrento place, Lacson st.
3. Calea's - the best and most sulit cakes.. binabalik balikan ko rin ito. recommemded ang mga cheesecakes nila
4. Batchoy - you can choose from Ted's or Deco's. parehong masarap
5. Imay's or Aboy's - for Filipino food (but i personally like imay's better)

madami pa dito masasarap na food.. Ripples (sa L'fischer), Tratoria Uma, Bob's, Cafe Bob's, Kuppa.. sa chinese food nman Golden Fortune and Apollo

hindi mahal mga pagkain dito, tska masasarap. kaya maraming hindi tumatagal dito na from manila (like Gerry's) except na [textspeak!] siguro ang mga fastfood like jolibee, mc do and the likes

^what hotel sis? when i was looking for a hotel last jan to attend a friend's wedding, accommodating naman sila. kaso l'fisher was fully booked din noon. sugarland is ok kaso medyo luma. i actually reserved a room at westown hotel near their city hall pero buti na lang the groom gave up his room at planta hotel for us. so we stayed at planta. one night lang naman kasi kami sa bacolod.

^sa MO2 ako nagpareserve a month ago, then finollow up ko this week (quote ko pa last email ko) then hindi pa pala nareserve yung room and now hindi na daw available yung promo rate na sinabi nila sa kin last month.

nakabook na ko sa circle inn, weird lang kasi nung sa email ko, nag ask sila ng 50% downpayment pero nung nagbook ako sa site nila mismo, reserved na agad yung room and wala hiningi na downpayment.

hintay ko pa nga sagot kung gaano kalayo sa port . 1 day lang din kasi kami sa bacolod, the following day, punta na ng iloilo.

Paano ba pumunta sa Punta Bulata from Bacolod City? Or anyone here knows a car rental (4 pax capacity) na mura lang?

^no idea sa punta bulata pero nakita ko poster niyan sa airport, mukhang maganda.

kababalik ko lang sa trip namin. one day lang dapat kami sa bacolod pero nagextend pa ko ng half day kasi hindi pa tapos ang food trip ko. sarap kumain sa bacolod and hindi nga siya ganun kamahal. =)

sa circle inn kami nagstay and dahil nagpanic ako nagpabook na ko agad dito at sabi peak season daw sila ng feb. 15-19. pero wrong decision kasi ang layo niya sa kainan, so napamahal pa kami sa pamasahe, kakasakay ng tricycle at trisikad para makarating sa lacson st. hindi rin madali makahanap ng trike, minsan inaabot pa namin yung robinsons para lang makasakay, 2-3 blocks away from hotel. ang ok na location na hotel yung l'fischer, sa site kasi ang mahal niya P3,500 yata ang lowest rate pero pagdating ko sa airport, may nakuha ko na flyer, may below P2k lang pala sila na room. sarap dito magstay kasi katapat lang niya calea. may saltimbocca inn din, sa likod lang din ng calea. so if ever babalik ako sa bacolod, dito na ko magstay.

1. calea - namimiss ko talaga yung cake nila, twice kami nagpunta dito.

^wow food trip talaga sis in just 1 and a half day! sosyal ng 21 no? i remember dito kami nag date ni hubby before we were wed and that's years ago pa ha. until now going strong pa pala ang 21.

^dami pa nga sa list ko na gusto ko kainan kaso no time na, need ko na pumunta sa iloilo, nalate nga check-in ko muntikan na macancel yung room namin sa iloilo.

sarap nga magdate dun sa 21, nahiya pa nga kami pumasok nung una kasi tshirt and pants lang kami pero nung may nakita ko na nakacasual lang, pasok na rin kami. tapos gulat ako, hindi siya ganun kamahal, expected ko P400+ ang isang meal dito. mas mahal pa nga restaurant dito sa manila.

sa Royal Am Rei naman kame nagstay last october, nasa lacson din yun. fully booked na kasi sa l'fisher at saltimbocca that time. ok din sa royal am rei, sa agoda ako nag-book kaya nasa P800/night lang yung w/breakfast na.

mga sisses ano ba ang mas okay, from the airport derecho na nag tour sa talisay then the ruins or punta muna sa city proper then tour? mahirap bang magcommute? balak kong magstay sa Saltimboca.

^depende kung what time dating mo sa airport and kung wala ka naman marami dala, pwede ka dumiretso ng talisay.

ok naman ang pag commute namin pero ruins and lacson st. lang kasi kami nagpunta.

^^yes sis. mas better from the airport tour na kayo agad sa talisay and see the ruins. you'll pass by this town anyway on the way to bacolod. and hindi naman mahirap mag commute kasi lacson st, where saltimboca is, kung dederechuhin mo ito, actually extends all the way to the highway to silay.
