for first trimester, folic acid lang talaga ata ang binibigay ng mga OB.
for second trimester, she changed mine to Mosvit.
Tapos just the other day, change na ulit kami from Mosvit to ferrous sulfate and Caltrate.

i'm 21 weeks by the way  :)

hi sis.. frist trimester my vitamins are folic acid, vit. c 2x a day and caltrate 2x a day.
nung nang 2nd tri na ako vit. c, caltrate, obmin (multivitamins) and Iberet (iron + folic acid).

wala pa naman sinasabi si OB na magchange na ng vitamins. I also drink anmum once a day lang. So far hindi naman ang tumaba ng todo. Konti lang weight gain ko pero si baby sakto daman daw ang size for his age.

pampakapit daw... may mga pre-existing conditions kasi ako pero i totally stopped all meds upon learning that im pregnant, mga 5 months din ako naka-duphaston but i think it helped me kasi i had no problems with pregnancy, kahit morning sickness, wala. may hormonal imbalance and reakouts lang ako pero ok lang...

hi sis! re vitamins for pregnancy. usually we give folic acid not only on the 1st trimester but also prior to pregnancy(usually 2 months before the anticipated pregnancy), to avoid neural tube defects or abnormalities involving the spine and its components, such as meningocoele. during the 1st trimester all of the main organ systems develop, so, it is pertinent that during this time, pregnant women must not be afflicted with any infectious diseases such as german measles. duphaston is a progesterone that acts on tne endometrium to protect the developing fetus. "pampakapit" is the usual term we use so for layman's term. after the 12th month, multivitamins, any brand is given for added nutrition of the developing fetus. on the 5th month or 20th week, iron supplementation is a must. at this time your baby is competing for iron, so added supplementation is needed to avoid iron deficiency anemia, which is the most common type of anemia in pregnancy. calcium is also needed for the mother and the fetus. :D

Hi mommies, so far my OB prescribed Obimin and Caltrate Plus lang, saka Anmum Vanilla. I'm worried though, nung 4th month ko lang kasi ako nagstart magpa-check up sa OB kaya hindi ako nakapag-folic acid before. Nagka-emotional crisis kasi ako for the longest time about my baby. :( Nastress nga ako sa secretary ni OB kasi parang gimbal na gimbal siya na hindi ako nagfolic acid before pero si OB wala naman sinabi. Wala din naman prinescribe.

Tingin niyo sobrang sama nun para kay baby? Is there any way to make bawi sa folic acid?

hi sis goldie.locks!
as for my earlier post, folic acid is best 2 months prior and on the first 3 months of pregnancy for the brain and nervous system development. all you have to do if you were not able to take folic acid is stay healthy (physically and emotionally),  and have a regular prenatal check up w/ your OB. :)

my ob prescribed folic acid at least 5mg/day daw. and OB SMART. sobrang mahal nga lang ng OB Smart (almost P17/cap). my OB's secretary said that OB smart and ob max (P9/cap only) are the same. when i compared, they're almost the same except for DHA and EPA that are present in OB Smart na wala sa OB max. same manufacturer din. pampatalino daw ng baby ang DHA, if that is so, when is the best time to take it, 1st, 2nd or 3rd semester or all throughout?

andikandice, hope you can enlighten me :) hiya ako magtanong sa ob ko baka sabihin kinokontra ko reseta nya hehe

1 - 4 months Obimin and Hemarate FA
5 months - Obimin, Hemarate FA and she adds Calciumade para hindi daw masyado mamulikat.

pre-pregnancy, may folic acid na ako once a day.
1st trimester = folic acid pa rin at mama whiz
2nd trimester = caltrate plus, iberet folic

i'm on my 5th month, so yun lang muna. baka may idagdag pa si OB in the following months
i drink anmum paminsan-minsan :)

hi milktea! sorry for the late reply. just attended our annual convention last week. its true that all the brands regarding folic acid are all the same. nagkakatalo lang yan which is the innovator or what. you can take any multivitamins but i suggest that you also supplement it with folic acid. hindi yung naka incorporate lang sa multivitamins. actually yun lang binibigay ko for the 1st 3 months.. i mean folic acid unless me nutritional problem yung mom, then i give multivitamins with folic acid.. :)
