Haha kelangan pala masipag ako maglinis nun. Self-installation ng mosaic tiles, kaya ba? Or hanap nalang ako ng pro at ano ang magandang unahin. Installation nung kitchen cabinet or backsplash?

^yes last yung countertop then mosaic para sakto yung installation. if sanay ka sa DIY's, madali lang mag-install yun pero to be sure, pagawa na lang sa Pro  ;)

A mosaic tile is usually in 300mm x 300mm but the squares itself varies.  Be sure lang na before you install the wall cabinets, measure first. sakto dapat yung mosaic tiles sa cutting line (the gap between each squares) pagdating sa bottom panel ng wall cabinet. why? kasi there are cases na you have to cut the squares in two para lang ma-fill up yung remaining space between the wall cabinets and mosaic tiles and hindi siya maganda. The squares of the mosaic tile should fit perfectly sa wall space. sorry if malabo yung explanation  :)

^Teka nalito ako sis hehe Unahin ko muna pa-install yung overhead kitchen cabinet then range hood then mosaic tile backsplash?

our kitchen backsplash at the condo was glass. but i have it changed to mirrors only this sat para the kitchen would seem bigger. so far i like the effect. the glass, which is tempered, was moved to our house naman to be repurposed.

^sis, sa amin the kitchen cabinets went up first. then the range hood was installed. then when everything was clean na and alikabok-free, the backsplash was installed.  :)

^customized sis at paco. we're near kasi dun. bale they went to the condo to measure the backsplash and the tv rack (pati kasi yung cabinets ng tv rack pina-mirror ko na rin) a week ago. tapos ininstall na ng nitong sat. pa customize ka na lang sis. para exact fit sa kitchen counter mo and it will come out cheaper pa. sakin pala frameless. :)

Heatherette, I know someone from Timog. San ka ba sis?
Usually mirror as kitchen backsplash are made to order.

cindylulu, yes everything should be installed first before the countertop and splashback.

Yung sinasabi ko kanina, do measure first para perfect yung fit ng mosaic  ;)
kasi if you don't baka ganito mangyari:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y142/zchell/Public%20Photos/COUMT514.jpg

kesa yung buo like this:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y142/zchell/Public%20Photos/COUMT514-Copy.jpg

parang ganito (below the range hood):
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y142/zchell/Public%20Photos/S3010017-500x375.jpg

so dapat may napili na tiles na para pwde i-measure if until saan yung termination then you can install the wall cabinet na. magulo pa din noh? hehe! sorry.   ;D

pwde din may gap between the mosaic and wall cabinet para hindi mahirap:

^^I love the tiles sa last photo pero mukhang mahirap linisin yun, ang daming spaces haha

Nasa QC ako sis, ano yung name nung store para ma-visit ko one of these days. Next month pa naman ako lilipat pero inaayos ko na lahat para di ako naghahabol pag move in time na :)

^Thank you sis :)

Paano kaya mape-prevent yung pag-itim ng mirror no?

^True. May local and imported mirror. According to google, mahirap i-repair yung black spots sa mirror.  Some articles suggested na ipa-re-silver (the back part) pero costly siya and if naka-fixed na siya sa wall as splashback, mahirap na ata alisin yun. All you can do is prevent it. Google mo sis, madami din suggestions on how to prevent the black spots. Pero naisip ko, instead of fixing the mirror by using adhesive, why not use glass metal studs? At least madali tanggalin, yun nga lang makikita mo yung metal studs.

^But in the long run, mas ok na ang tiles than mirror no?

^^Yes. Low maintenance. Went to Wilcon Builders kanina, madami na din tiles na mura na maganda design for bathrooms and kitchen splashbacks. Price range is 105 to 150 per piece. Bumili ako for one client  ;)
