@Sis kwang sun, try to ask your derma which brand of tret she would recommend. That's what I did and my derma told me that stieva ang ginagamit nila sa pharmacy. I also even asked my derma what commercially brand topical meds na pang-maintenance ang recommended nya in exchange sa mga meds na nabibili lang sa kanya.

I am using tretinoin from Belo dati, pero ang mahal so tinry ko yung stieva-A, with same percentage 0.05. Same effect lang naman, iba iba pa ba ang tretinoin? feeling ko same lang sila lahat..

^depende kasi sa base used to mix the tret and if you have sensitive, acne-prone skin, mas finicky and hiyangan talaga  ang formulation.

Personally, napansin ko na with our local Tretinoin brands in drugstores, nag-iimprove texture ng skin ko after months of use but may persistent bumbs and butligs ako sa forehead area. This is also true with Obagi's Tret. But when I use my derma's own compounded tret, mas mabilis kuminis skin ko. I guess it's with the overall package and the products that they prescribe to compliment the tret kaya mas nagiging efficient. Pero depende pa din sa derma.

sabi nya same lang daw effect sa commercial brand  so I guess it's safe to switch?

Dhee-dhee,you'll most likely experience peeling. Lalo na if you put too much or if you didn't want 15 to 20 minutes after washing your face.

I agree with you on this sis! II'm doubting myself nga kung placebo lang since I super love my derma's topicals pero iba talaga yung bilis ng results from the derma meds versus those available commercially.

^^apir! Hehe :)

^Sis, I've tried most commercially available brands at various percentages. Kahit yung Euro retinaldhydes like Diacneal na-try ko na din, and I can definitely say na mas effective for me ang formulation ng derma ko ngayon. Like sis herroyalbleakness, I'm not sure if it's a placebo effect, but over the years I figured, why waste money and time trying and trying different products, when there's obviously something that already works for me?

Pero wary ako sa mga derma, lalo na ngayon na medyo more of negosyo na siya than profession. Napansin ko din lately na napaka-loose nila sa pag prescribe ng oral isotretinion. If you can find a derma you can trust, who genuinely cares for your general well being, while also respecting your funds, mas ok. Tretinoin is a prescription medication in other countries for a reason, so better get an expert opinion first before trying, mas mahirap i-reverse ang side effects and possibly, mas magastos.

For those din who are pregnant or trying to conceive, better quit tret altogether and ask for you OB's advice on when you can start again. While no significant side effects has been shown in certain studies, warning signs on packets are there to relieve manufacturers of potential liability.

i suggest try nyo muna yung .025% before .05%. baka kasi hindi kayo hiyang. Mercury and Watson's parehong nagbebenta ng tretinoin. same effect lang namann sya dun sa mga high end type. sana hiyang kayo. good luck sis. i've been using it from time to time preferably on rainy days para di masunog sa araw.
