^^Hello sis, travel time from the airport to Taipei city takes around an hour (one-way). Terminal 1 is under renovation so most shops are still closed. But Terminal 2 has some shops... I don't remember masyado since I've only been there once...

Food - try to check this site for recommendations:
http://hungryintaipei.blogspot.com/
I'm not much of a foodie but even I have heard of this famous blogger when it comes to Taiwanese food/eats.

One of the most famous restos here is Din Tai Fung but you have to wait to be seated sometimes (like 30mins to 1.5 hours).

^Good choice, sis!
The weather is mostly the same as HK... cold and damp.

Taiwan is relatively crime free, like Singapore. No worries there... But unlike Singapore, English isn't widely spoken here. Medyo challenging if you can't speak/read Chinese. You'll see English signs but you can't read them aloud and expect people to understand you... Mandarin is a tonal language kasi. Hmmm, as long as you have a solid itinerary, you'll have fun :)

^ I just booked my ticket.. Weee!! I'm excited!  Good to know na safe sa Taiwan :D

Solid itinerary.. hmm plan is to just wing it! haha  I just wana see the major sights and then eat and absorb the city the rest of the time..  This will be my first solo adventure trip kasi.. something that I decided to do before I get married.. sa hostel rin ako magstay which will be my first time..

If any of our sissies will be there Dec 27-31, I'd be glad to meet up :D

enjoy Taiwan sis ^^

super safe sa Taiwan, we went there last March '11. I love the weather, the foods and the people ^^ We stayed din sa hostel, and okay naman dun. Ang importante malapit sya sa MRT  :D

fashionista ang mga Taiwanese, I met a friend there and she's super bait, buti nga marunong sya mag english :)

I miss Taiwan, hay sana makabalik ako dyan  :D

Hanggang 12 midnight lang pala yung mga MRT. What's the best way for big groups (8-10 pax) to get around Taipei after midnight?

btrcp - hi sis, most clothing brands are more expensive here in Taiwan. the only brand i can think of na mas mura is Converse... some brands go on sale like Giordano, Bossini, Hang Ten and Baleno and you can buy a shirt for 99nt (or 140php). mura rin if you shop in Costco but you need a membership card to get in.
after midnight, we take cabs na... walang choice. it's kinda expensive... like 5-6x compared to Manila  ???

You can take the TRA train to Ruefang station and transfer to the Pingxi line :) Here's a good blog post about it:
