Ako I gave birth 2010 sa St. Lukes Global.. na-CS ako after 24 hours of labor na hindi nag-work.  So by the time na-CS, 10 na ng gabi.  We decided to room-in kahit pagod and post-CS kasi I wanted to breastfeed.  Best move talaga.  My baby is now 15 months, and Im still breastfeeding.  Baby never had to drink formula.  So tipid talaga.

CGH - dito kami sa eldest ko Aug 2006. at that time, nirerenovate ang nursery nila and since alam ko na madami nanganganak dito we specifically requested that our baby be roomed-in ASAP. Sa gabi ako nanganak, sa morning ayaw pa ibigay kaya tinawag ko kaagad sa pedia. then dinala na. maganda kasi yung room na nakuha namin. kaya ok lang. also ang kinakatakot ko lang naman yung bath time, kaya may pumupunta na nurse sa room to bathe him. the rest kami lang ni hubby nag alaga sa kanya. no nurse no yaya to help us.

MADOCS - 2009 - pro breastfeeding sila which is good to me since i plan to bf my baby right after giving birth. salute ako dito 98%. may unang disappointment lang sa policy nila pero naging advantage din naman for me.
- had our 1st latch right after delivery (na emergency CS ako) sa OR.
- had our 1st real nursing (parang 1hour yun) sa recovery room. he was crying and asking for milk na daw, kaya yung nag catch na pedia sa baby ko and nurse brought the baby back in the recovery room from NICU, to bf him. half awake na ako ng dumating sila and since kaka opera ko lang naka higa lang ako. sila ang humawak kay baby to nurse him both sides yun. galing!
- around 4am nayata ako naka punta sa room ko. and hinahanap ko na baby ko. after sunrise, wala pa din si baby. they wanted me to go to NICU to nurse him. sabi ko gusto ko sa kwarto ko and ako na bahala to nurse him. dito ko na disappoint nun. so nangulit ako sa pedia and obgyne ko para dalhin si baby sa room. umiiyak kasi ako nun na paano naman ako makakapunta sa NICU kung wala pang 12hours yung operation ko  pinapatayo na nila ako. umiiyak ako nun. so pinilit ko talagang tumayo nun para makaupo sa wheelchair. good thing dinala din naman nila sakin si baby kasi nasumbong ko nga sa ob ko.
- advantage of their policy: during my baby's 1st 24hours, we noticed his breathing and pulse was not normal. masyado mabilis. so kinuha sya ulit sakin and binalik sa NICU. umiiyak nanaman ako nun. pero in a way, it helps me na maka tayo and maka kilos na than stay sa bed lang dahil sa operation. in 2days nga, feeling ko pwede na ako umuwi. but since may sakit si baby nun every 2hours ako nandun sa bfeeding room nila. sometimes they even let me sleep there w/ my baby until he needs to feed again. sila na nga nangungulit sakin minsan na matulog na lang ako sa room ko at night then tatawagin nila ako kapag umiiyak na or feeding time na. ako ang may ayaw, gusto ko parating maaga ako para hindi sya umiiyak.

2012 - now in less than 4mos time i will be giving birth to our 3rd baby. i still prefer him to be roomed in so i can nurse him early. pero better pa rin to lessen your visitors. just like what we did sa 2nd baby namin.

When I gave birth last September 2010, we roomed in our baby. It was scary at first cus my husband and I didn't know what to do and what to expect since first time parents kame and iba naman yung nababasa sa books with the real thing. But it went on smoothly naman and our first night at the hospital as a family was very special and intimate.

I agree with Hunny_Ally na you dont need to bring a yaya with you when you give birth. Hinde naman mahirap alagaan ang newborn especially kung hinde mo naman first baby yan. In my case nga, I had CS delivery pa and masakit pa the stitches that time but hinde ko na din napansin. Also, I only got a yaya when my daughter was 3 months old na, pabalik na ko sa work non (and the yaya was a disaster too).
Whatever I want, I get. If I can't, I don't stop TRYING.

Blah blah blah!

^Yup, that's what OBs would recommend talaga as long as walang complications yung baby.

with baby #3, we also hope to room in. although i'm just a few weeks along the way, this time i don't want to commit the mistake of letting the baby stay in the nursery kasi nahirapan talaga kami with breastfeeding, especially with my 2nd baby.
