BPI's Maxi Saver?
« on: August 24, 2011, 08:53:06 pm »
Hi sis, I just want to know your opinions/feedbacks about this BPI's maxi saver? Sabi kasi dun sa flyer nila, yung money will gain interest if you would not touch it for a month, etc. May mga naka avail na po ba nito sa inyo mga sisses? How was it? please share. Thanks :)

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but its not 12%
Its still 1.375% pa + 1% or 2.375% p.a.

Wala na atang bank deposit na may ganun
klaseng ka taas na interest rate.

The last one was Banco Filipino which closed down,

mababa rate ng time deposit. I understand yung Maxi Saver Php50K pg atm and Php100K pg passbook yung minimum na required balance. And meron promo BPI ngayon pg fresh cash yung iopen na account meaning hindi galing sa existing account mo sa BPI, minimum of Php100K ata. :)
The best is yet to come!

onga sis. nakita ko yung flyer nito after ko mag open ng account. eh hindi naman umabot ng 100K yung di-neposit ko pero hindi rin naman ako ininform nung sa bank na may ganung promo so parang namissed ko ba yun? or [textspeak!] kaya mag additional ng deposit para to make it 100K and get in the promo? umm :/

Dahil sa post nito, I called the RM kasi kala ko naisahan ako. LOL. Pero  based sa explanation nya sa akin:

This promo started Sept 1 and your money is kept for 3 months
Based sa 100k computation: total is 1.9% interest sa 3 months x 90 days/ 360 days so lalabas daw P475 and interest plus the Gift Item amounting to P400. TOTAL is 875

Comparing it with SDA, your 100k will earn about P815 so mas malaki ng about P60 itong may promo. yun nga lang hindi mo ma encash ang GC at Gift Item. Unlike sa SDA na cash yung buong interest.

^ thanks sis.

mga sisses clear ko lang kung pano tumatakbo ang Maxi-saver.

let's say for a PHP 103,000 at 1.375% starting interest..

if no withdrawal was made in the first month.. 103,000 * 0.01375 * 30 / 360 = PHP 118.02 --> interest at 1st month

if no withdrawal was made in the second month.. 103,118.02 * 0.02375 * 30 / 360 = PHP 204.09 --> interest at 2nd month

@bebeloo,

You should still get 2.375% if you don't have
withdrawals in the 1st month.

Remember that you get interest after 1 month
so there's already a 1 month period of whether
or not you had any withdrawals

First month interest should be
103,000 x 0.001583333 = 163.08

0.001583333 was computed by
taking out 20% off 2.375% as witholding tax
and then dividing the product by 12

But you had the right idea.. You just forgot
the 20% tax
