nice thread. galing ng ibang mga posts dito.. i definitely learned a lot! :)

anyway, i want to post my reaction to let you think about the topic from another perspective.

i am barely fashionable. i have very little, bordering to non-existent, fashion sense. as much as i want to mix and match outfits, try new looks and generally revamp my whole wardrobe, well.. i always end up buying clothes of similar styles. my usual get-up is blouse, skinny jeans and flip flops. i go to the mall and find almost any other girl with this kind of outfit. i must admit, girls dito sa Pinas, talagang almost same ang fashion sense. before you are quick to scrutinize other girls and label them as clones, has it ever occured to you that there are girls, like me, who ADMITTEDLY just don't have a sense of style? LOL. i really don't know how to rephrase that without sounding too pathetic but it is true. as much as i'd love to experiment with unconventional styles, in the end, i feel stupid and i am not comfortable at all. that is why i just oggle at foreign magazines that feature different sense of fashion. for me, in whatever i wear, i value what is most comfortable, sadly, it is the "common" fashion. not to further depress my self-esteem, i just say to myself.. fashion is not really my forte in life. it is true. i just don't have enough interest in spending all the time and effort figuring out what matches what. it comes to the point that i just don't care. i don't care if i blen d in the crowd. i'd rather look like the next girl than feel embarrased by trying too hard to wear something i'm not comfortable with. i am also not ashamed to admit that i save up to be able to buy branded footwear (cough FITFLOPS cough) because they are super comfortable, and i have come to conclude from my past purchases that.. when i buy the cheaper stuff, more often than not, i get blisters or.. the shoe/sandals only lasts me 3 days. same with bags. does that make me pasosyal? a copycat?

with my income, i definitely cannot afford to buy luxury goods, but i don't find anything wrong with spending your hard earned money on the things you want. it amuses me how some people are quick to judge others on what they spend their money with--how others save and save for an LV. as long as hindi sila nangungutang from me, bahala sila anong gusto nilang bilhin. bahala sila if they eat pandesal and sardines to own a Chanel. pake ko sa kanila. i try hard to mind my own business kasi napaka ayoko din yung pinakikialaman ako. if some people live beyond their means, it is them who will suffer the consequences. i go on with my life.

great read about Warren Buffet. he is someone to definitely emulate. i try to live simply, as much as I can. i do believe in minimalist living.

^no sis, it doesn't make you a copycat for i definitely believe that we all have different reasons for our purchases.

in my case, i love dressing up with classic and timeless pieces. you'll when it comes to clothes, i'm not very particular with the brand. in fact, i love to scour ukay shops tapos inaalter ko yung mga nabibili ko dun para maging apt sa size ko or style na gusto ko. you'll often see me in a dark blue skinny jeans, black open-toed pumps, white button-down polo, tapos.

pero sa bags, i'm very meticulous. lalo sakin na mabilis makasira ng gamit. nung 2nd year high school ako, my dad gave me an lv speedy tapos kahit mga tita ko nagtataka kasi maayos at ginagamit ko pa rin sya ngayon kahit 6 years na yung lumipas. i have 3 other lvs but basically, my reason for splurging for those bags is the quality. yes, may mga bags din siguro na hindi ganun kamamahal na matitibay rin pero as for me, nasubukan ko na kasi talaga. siguro mako-consider ko din yung sarili ko na sanay na rin sa pag-distinguish ng fake at hindi kaya aaminin ko, sometimes it annoys me kapag merong mga sobrang OA makapag-show off ng mga "high-end" bags nila eh obvious naman na counterfeit (super light patina, etc.). para kasi sakin it's when you don't try too hard that you get noticed.  :)

probably it's the need to feel accepted nga pero hindi naman kailangan ibalandra mo yung mga gamit mo. this reminds me tuloy nung post sa sosyalera.net yung tungkol sa mga tao na super pa-picture katabi ng frap nila sa starbucks to show the world that they can afford to buy a 150-worth cup of coffee.

just share my opinion mga sissies :)

Kung afford naman na magkaroon ng branded na mga kagamitan, why not diba?some people are so lucky enough dahil kaya nila bumili ng mga ganitong gamit, some others naman, bumibili sila ng branded dahil they work hard at parang gift and reward na lang nila iyun for their self, there's nothing wrong of buying branded stuff, just as long na you can afford it and hindi galing sa masama yung pinang bili mo,having these things it's not necessarily  means that your being materialistic,

i love this thread it's only now that i've come across this thread! sayang nakapagcomment sana ako...

I love this kind of topic. One that would stir everyone's mind. Although it earned a lot of negative feedbacks, I think it's a good topic. Because as spartan puts it, its something that has been present in our society yet we all hate to talk about coz a lot of us are guilty. Kudos to Spartan!

I wish there would be more topics like this.

I don't care. Ang mata ko nama-magnet sa show of skin or show of curves ;)

"porma" is a female concern. Or concern ng model-modelang mga lalaki.

I understand what Spartan wants to point out with this thread, its not the actual purchasing of signature items that has issues, but how girls pair up the stuff they have, to the extent that it sometimes look so generic na.

This is definitely one of my pet peeves kaya ayokong nakikisunod sa uso na mga brands/gamit, naalala ko yung fad ng button up shirts (polo style) na tucked sa shorts tapos may belt, pair it with boyfriend watches and longchamp bags pa. :P No offense meant to those na fans ng longchamp, para kasi sakin, its nothing but a high end shopping bag. wa-appeal, id rather spend my money on michael kors or coach or kate spade which costs a little more than the price of those longchamps which everyone seems to have nowadays. Ako guilty ako of not having even just a single one, may kasunduan na kami ng wallet ko -- Ill never buy longchamps unless they release a collection that has Kokeshi/Japanese Doll prints on it, pero di ko rin gagamitin, for the sake of collecting stuff with Japanese Dolls lang. Hehe!

Aside from that, minsan may makikita ka rin na por que uso and almost everyone's wearing the same thing, yun narin ang bibilhin kahit na hindi naman keri, i know nasa confidence naman yun ng nagdadala, pero we cant deny the fact na meron talagang mga bagay na hindi bagay sa iba. Kasi ako, I make sure Im familiar with the colors, specific cuts and styles that dont look flattering on me, given that, mas maiintindihan mo kung ano yung mga bagay sayo at magcocomplement sa built, complexion and height mo.

i'll wear branded clothes if its a gift. but for me to buy it.... hmmnn.. lemme think about it. :D

i only have one branded bag. and it's not even LV. it's CK. and i use it all the time cuz of its matibay and im notorious on putting too much things to my bag na maaga silang nagreretire. LOL

clothes? i dun care kung saan galing damit ko or kung anong brand nila. nasa confidence mo lang yan at kahit gasgas na to pero oo, nasa pagdadala mo lang yan.

its weird how girls wear super duper high heels when they want to go to the mall tapos kung maglakad e parang madapa-dapa na.

its also weird how girls love to wear super short skirts tapos hila dito, hila doon. i wear skirts as well, in fact i love wearing them. and when i do, i let them be as short or as long as they should be. hindi ako hila dito, hila doon. duh? you wore them to show legs tapos pag tumaas ng onti, sige kang hila ng hila pababa. its annoying. if you can't carry it well, if you aren't comfortable with it, DON'T WEAR IT.

Hi All
Simple lang yan.

Among 10 people alam mo kung sino ang artist or fine arts students , tama? porma palang iba na.

kaya... for those na artist within, apir!
sa mga problematic mag decide, tagay pa!
sa mga gaya gaya, kill the TV

:)

POV ko lang naman ito.
Peace
