Mr. Shin/Beauty Brick Salon - Thread 2

Grabe nung Monday kay Mr Shin. Ang daming tao. Ang mahirap kasi pag super dami ng tao wala sila system e. My nieces and I had to wait for 2 hours before it was their turn to have their hair washed tapos when I left for the gym, it took them another two hours para magstart yung pag-digi perm. We went there at 2pm and went home past 9pm. I must admit na Mr Shin is one of the best, if not the best when it comes to perming and the like but I hope he organizes the way he accepts clients. Last night, my niece complained na super dry ng hair niya. Feeling ko, dahil sa dami at haba ng waiting time niya lagi, natagalan sa hair niya yung chemicals. So mixed feelings talaga ako now kay Mr Shin. Anyway, again, mga sis, set an appointment in the morning, don't go there at noon, kahit may appointment ka pa kasi sigurado ako masmatagal pa yung paghihintay mo sa actual process itself.

sis, nung holiday ba yan nung monday? nagpa digiperm din ako nun. i called the salon nung morning, sabe ko 6:30 preferred appointment ko sana kase may pasok ako, then i was told na pumunta daw ako ng earlier kung pwede. then i arrived ng 5:45 pm. andameng tao sobra. pero inumpisahan na ko ng 8:15pm. gusto ko na nga umuwi sana nun eh, kaya lang inumpisahan n din ako. past 12am na ko natapos kase ako ang pinakalast. actually antagal ko din nag aantay bago yung turn ko sa bawat process ng perm. no wonder din kaya nag dry up hair ko ngayon dahil siguro s tagal ng babad sa chemicals.  tsaka parang uwing uwi n din yung mga staff nila ata pagod na kaya parang minadali na ko sa huli. pero binigyan naman ako ng  10% discount, so 2970 na lang binayaran ko hindi pa kasama yung tip, siguro dahil super madaling araw na ko natapos kaya discounted.

^Yup. Binigyan din yung niece ko tsaka yung friend niya ng discount. Sana talga magkaroon si Mr Shin ng system kung paano siya tatanggap ng customers niya kasi sayang sa oras tapos yon nga, nakakadry pa sa buhok kasi nababad yung chemicals.

wow sis, 3rd mo na, i remember before i had my digiperm, i read your blog and love the color of your hair! =) Now i'm thinking for my 2nd time to have it digipermed and my kasama nang hair coloring! yey!

Im done with the hair perming. I didnt avail the hair color this time. Ill color my own hair nalang. Since sanay naman ako magcolor ng hair ko like college pa. Same service and mabilis ako natapos. mga 2pm tapos na ako. Shorter hair so maikli ang curls ko. I wanted it that way para mas matagalan bago ako bumalik kay Mr Shin. The only reason kaya lang ako bumalik talaga sakanya is because ang haba na talaga ng buhok ko. Pero the curls are still there maganda pa hindi masyado nagloosen siguro kasi naalgaan ko din siya mabuti.

As always size 15 padin ang barrels. I will post a review soon

mga sis, help naman.. napansin ko kase yung digipermed hair ko medyo nagloloosen up na,
3 weeks pa lang ito, pero may sections na parang wavy na lang. kung hindi ko pa i-twist hindi talaga sya ma-curl. ok pa kaya kung ibalik ko ulit to sa BB para ipa-redo? Sayang kase yung binayad ko kung hindi naman mgatatagal yung curl kahit na inaalagaan ko..

^sis, i've read before na may 1month warranty kay Mr. Shin.. check mo baka offer pa nila yun. =)

Went there last Saturday, Sept 24. I originally wanted to avail of volume rebond, but was encouraged by Deborah (the translator/assistant of Mr. Shin) na mas ok raw kung balloon wave ang gagawin sakin. Balloon Wave is almost same as Stracurl, but with lower curls. ideal for those with long hair. Di gora naman ako. Mr. Shin also confirmed that balloon wave would be better with my hair kasi pag volume rebond, di masyadong mapapansin ang effect.

So I went ahead and avail of the service. After the 1st medicine was applied and my hair rinsed, i noticed that the strands where the my hair color begins is sobrang dry na. nanigas and nag dry and ang squeaky ng tunog nya. pero ok lang di ko masyadong pinansin eh, kebs lang ako. i knew part of it was my fault kasi may semi-permanent cello ang hair ko (c/o Victor Ortega, obviously this was with bleach grrr). After that, my hair was ironed at the top, and curled at the ends using digital perm. then they applied the 2nd medicine, rinse and blowdry.

My review: I had mixed feelings din with the salon based on the ff:

Good:
1. Mr shin and his staff are super used to performing stracurl. All the other clients' hair are super picture perfect, even mine after the blowdry.
2. Their services are not overpriced compared to other korean salon.
3. Ang bilis mag curl ng hair ko even after getting rebond 9 months ago. Past experiences ko kasi with digiperm ang hirap kumulot pag galing rebond ang hair.

Bad:
1. Super daming tao! I went on a early Saturday afternoon (1PM). Mabilis naman akong naumpisahan gawin (mga after 45 minutes) pero ang tagal ko naghintay in between the process itself. Before ilagay yung 2nd medicine specifically. Sa sobrang dami ng tao di na nila siguro napansin na luto nako . Ayoko namang mag hissy fit at magmukhang primadonna.

2. Super dry na talaga ng part ng hair ko where i had semi-permanent cello. :-( Im kinda disappointed no one asked me if I previously had my hair colored, siguro sila inassume nilang wala at ako inassume kong di pangit ang gamot nila na magdadry ng ganito yung ends. Pero halata naman kasi yung color. I guess i cannot blame anybody but myself but I just hope they asked me first.

Post-treatment: The ends of my hair is super dry, but the rebonded part is super silky, FTW I just want Mr shin to cut all the dry part, maybe I'll go back there in a month. Pag chinagaan ko naman lagyan ng wax at istyle ng maayos yung hair ko, maganda pa rin naman tignan. Pag malapitan lang kita na dry haha.


I'd still go back there even after all this. Agahan ko na lang siguro next time para di sumabay sa dami ng tao and I'll make sure to tell them if I had hair colored from other salons.

Had my stracurl last saturday at beauty brick. I'm very disappointed with the results. parang sobrang buhaghag ng hair ko, sobrang frizzy...  sobrang dry din nung strands. I was worried kasi nagkamali sila ng lagay ng gamot. I think may miscommunication with the interpreter and mr shin. Nilagyan agad nila ng gamot yung dulo ng hair ko na ipeperm,however hindi pa narerebond yung sa roots. Tapos nagkagulo na lang sila bigla then nagmamadali nila winash off yung gamot sa hair ko..

sis baka naman kulang sa maintenance... baka di ka naglalagay ng hair products.  pansin ko kc pag wala kang inapply na hair products at di ka nag twist & scrunch mukhang buhaghag lang talaga yung hair.  kaya i make sure na paglalabas ako ng bahay naglalagay talaga ko ng mousse.  kaya yung curls ko tumagal talaga ng 9 months.  sobrang haba na lang talaga ng hair ko kaya no choice kundi pa-cut ko na.  actually 6 mos. after ko magpa digiperm mas napansin ng mga tao yung hair ko... ang ganda nga daw... siguro kc nagloosen up ng konti hindi katulad nung una na medyo short hair pa at masyadong curly.

yun bang straperm yung prang ni-rebond sa may bandang start ng hair then curly na malalaki sa bandang ends?

buhaghag kase ang hair ko, yoko na kulot sa may bandang face, gusto ko, s medyo below the face na yung kulot, pero ayoko naman na walang treatment sa don kase buhaghag nga.

^pareho tayo sis. inip na inip na rin akong maggrow out yung relax ko. sa tingin ko next year pa ko makakapag paperm ulit. i'm resorting to pusod in the morning para pag let down ko sa hapon wavy siya. haha.

^haha! i've also tried this sis kaso di ko ma-achieve. kung hindi super big hair mukhang sinabunutan lang.  buti my gay friend always initiate na ikulot ako pag may lakad (with curling iron).

^nung una, di ko rin maachieve. muka lang akong lion. lol! pero eventually, nakuha ko din. twist twist lang until mapusod. yung curling iron, meron ako pero yun namang ang di ko maachieve on my own. parang ewan yung labas ng kulot. kailangan ibang tao yung gagawa sakin para maayos. hehe.

sana lang talaga magfast forward ang tubo ng hair natin para pwede na magpaperm.
