Hi, euqihn18.
Is your home using a circuit breaker na? Hope the breakers are of good quality rin.
I do our electricals rin - ha ha, halata bang jack of all trades but sadly hindi ko pa rin ma-fix ang ride namin as walang time (and resources). Check mo muna yun mga paligid ng outlets and switches for signs ng tulo. Usually may discoloration ang paint sa paligid.
Next, recall saan yun naamoy mo na sunog ang electricals. Focus on that part AFTER checking all switches and outlets. Sometimes kasi ang source ng tagas ng tubig is far from there - per experience. Habol mo lang muna at this time is to see if may possibility of shorts. This is where you must focus kapag malakas ang ulan and tiyakin the breakers will trip or can easily be turned off when needed. May mga breakers kasi na lousy ang pagkakabit kaya mahirap i-on muli.
I can't go deeper as not sure kung bihasa ka sa electricals but if you are ay syempre turn off mo muna yun kuryente sa breaker then open up the socket/switch. Okay lang na may konting discolorations but check for signs na nabasa - a good flashlight will come in handy here.
You can also use a multi-tester to check for signs of shorts pero mas matrabaho ito though.
Do make kulit the developer a bit. He he, hindi rin masama na you ask for divine intercession on this matter. Kung yun mga nagkakaproblema sa mga ayaw magbayad ng utang were quite happy with that advise ay equally rin here
