ibabad mo muna sa asin yung ampalaya. at pag ginigisa mo na, don't stir too much.

yes sis ginawa ko yan, kaya lang di ko masyado nababad un ampalaya sa tubig na may asin, mga 10 minutes lang siguro, saka gaano ba kadami ang asin? natatakot kasi ako baka masyado naman umalat yun gulay, di ko rin masyado hinalo, hinalo ko lang nung luto na, pero mapait parin yung ampalaya ko??

i do what sis showermist is doing. also pinipiga ko sya and manipis lang dapat ang cut.

sis pigain mo, ok lang kahit marami asin... hindi naman maaabsorb ng ampalaya un kasi piga mo rin naman e.

ako naman, i put a lot of salt sa ampalaya then i-squeeze ko tapos wash then babad ko na sa water na may salt. wash ko maigi before iluto.

piliin mo din yung hindi masyado kulubot na ampalaya. more kulubot, mas mapait e :) tapos yung suggestion nila na asinan (let it stay for a couple of minutes) then hugasan.

ah okay, so kulang pala ako sa salt at babad, saka hindi ko kasi napiga kaya ang pait nya

Ok din yang pag-alis ng pait ng ampalaya pero inaalis mo lang yung' nutrients ng gulay sis.  Imbes na naka healthy food ka, la na gaanong sustansya. :)  But as your question, tama silang lahat.  Aasinan mo yung' ampalaya na hiniwa mo na at piga-pigain, dapat enough salt para matanggal ang pait.  :)

Thin slices ginagawa ko kahit di ibabad sa asin masyado. Di rin talaga ako nagpipiga e... Hindi ba nahulas na sustansya ng ampalaya sa pagpiga? O hindi naman ganun?

thin slices, then babad sa konting water with konting salt, di narin namin pinipiga kasi di naman necessarily nawawala, but syempre nababawasan yung sustansya nung vegetable pag piniga pa or pag binanlawan.

nawawala ang sustansya pag pinipiga mo.. what i do is put some sugar para magblend ang pait at tamis. yummy! :)

I read somewhere that pwede mo ibabad sa milk yung ampalaya before cooking, but I haven't tried it yet.

Ako rin babad sa asin, then wash it with konting piga. Gusto ko kasi may pait pa rin and malutong yung ampalaya. And maraming itlog at sibuyas! :)

For me dapat thin lang yung pag ka slice. No more babad babad. Mawawala din kasi nutrients if piniga piga pa diba? Then ginisa mix lang. Di naman mapait na.

salamat sa mga posts. i tried this kanina. i sliced the ampalaya in two. then nilagyan ko ng asin yung gitna after tanggalin yung seeds. after a minute or two, washed salt off and chopped into thin slices.Perfect! di na mapait :p
