Make-Up Crimes that you Hate

For fun lang, share the Make-Up Crimes that you really Hate. Not that we're making fun of people who commit these crimes, but to help our fellow GirlTalkers avoid committing these make-up booboos.


Here's mine :

1. Overplucked eyebrows / Sharpie Eyebrows
2. Mismatched Foundation (either too white or too dark, ack)
3. Raccoon Eyes
4. Super Crusty Mascara (the lashes looks like tempura already haha! )
5. Harsh Contour Lines
6. Too much blush
7. Super Thick Eyeliners
8. Exaggerated winged eyeliners
9. Messy/Careless makeup Application
10. Too much colors (Bright eyes, bright lipstick, bright blush)
11. Harsh Lip Lines (that is so 1980s)
12. Generally, shades that do not flatter one's skintone.
13. Too much glitter/shimmer
14. Too Bright Undereye/eye area
15. Powder Foundation over Dry Flaky Skin (please moisturize)

here's one more thing that annoys me, i think it deserves to be included in the list because it also serves its "cosmetic" purpose,

16. Contact Lens colors that dont complement the skintone or facial features. (please check if the color suits you, if it looks good on others doesnt mean it looks good on everyone as well. )

Hahaha this is fun! I spend a lot of time on the MRT kaya I people-watch. Nakakaloka.

1. Too light foundation. I call this the "chinchansu effect", kasi face lang ang maputi haha. Bihira ako makakita ng too dark ang foundation.

2. Too much blush. Yung kind na super obvious na, hindi na mukhang "healthy", mukhang sinampal na.

3. Unruly brows.

4. Too much SPARKLE. Parang tipak-tipak na glitters. The first time I walked into a Skin Food store, ganyan yun makeup ng mga SA. Natakot ako.

5. Dark lipstick. I know some can pull it off, pero I see some ladies who wear lipstick shades that make them look like chronic smokers.

3. Super glossy lips. Glossy lips are fine, but when done in excess --- picture someone who just had lechon or something as greasy --- it just looks disgusting.
4. Super dark, thick and stenciled brows. I know it became (or is it still a trend?) a trend but they look too fake to me.

I remember there was this girl in school before na yun blush niya literal na bilog sa magkabilang cheeks. Parang measure talaga, naka-drawing perfect circle haha. Tawag namin sa kanya Santo Nino.

3 - okay lang sa akin ang glossy, basta huwag lang yun nadidikit-dikit na yun buhok haha

4 - correct! napansin ko to sa mga artista ng abs-cbn, parang ang strong nakaka-harsh ng mukha.

True! Ganun yung blush application nung girl. I told my mom about it pero I couldn't tell the girl kasi hindi kami close. But I felt so bad hindi ko siya kayang tignan.

Glossy is fine, pero minsan exagg. Yung parang nagpahid ng mantika sa lips.

I think hindi lang ABS-CBN. I saw a few GMA stars din na ganun yung eyebrows. It makes them look more youthful daw pero it just looks off to me.

ay yung mga bilog yung shape ng pagkaka apply ng blush, minsan mom and I cant help but comment na mukhang ginamitan ng compass. precise na precise e hahaha!

 Yung tattoed eyebrows --- Sobrang pangit tingnan.

^ i saw tattooed brows na maganda pagkakagawa sis, soft lang yung pagkakakulay, and hindi solid black, sinusunod yung haircolor..

       so far ang nakita kong ang sagwa talagang tattooed brows and eyeliners are those na pinagawa sa low-end salons/clinics siguro, yung nagbbleed ng bluish/greenish ink sa gilid nung mismong tattoo.. ack.

4. Super Crusty Mascara (the lashes looks like tempura already haha! )

add ko din yung hindi maganda yung pagka-curl ng lashes, parang hindi sila pare-parehas ang pag-curve. iwa-iwarang ang eyelashes at yung L-shape ang pagkaka-curl.

also nagka-mapa yung cheeks dahil sa cheek tint.  kelangan bilisan ang pag blend para hindi agad matuyuan.

marami akong nakikita nyang makapal na blush.

at yung sa twilight yung parang just bitten look, hindi lahat binabagayan.

^^sa majojonda ako nakakakita ng ganyang tattoo ng kilay at eyeliner. lol

- When one's eyebrow color is totally different from your hair color. Minsan, kahit black ang buhok, may nakikita akong brown ang kilay!   

- Different color ang face & neck meaning hindi tinuloy ang fonda sa neck

- Visible chappy/cracked lips under the lipstick. Pwede naman mag lipbalm muna before lipstick hehe

- Harsh/defined lines ng eye shadows, as in parang nag-drawing ka ng rainbow, wala ng blend-blend LOL

Yung mga lashes ng SA sa mga dept. store,parang nilagyan ng 1 tube ng mascara!! As in web-by na and ang heavy na tingnan...grabe naman yun..ang sarap i-brush ng mascara wand at i-declump,haha!

True! Meron talagang apples lang ng cheek may blush,as in 'circle of blush' sa cheeks..
Spare them din naman mga sis,malay niyo in a hurry yung girl,hindi na nagawang tumingin sa mirror!

Mostly sa mga nakikita ko sis ay yung mga makakapal at solid black ang pagkakakulay. Yung neighbor namin na late 20's pa ay parang nasa late 30's na dahil sa eyebrows niya. Ewan ko ba pero I hate tattoed eyebrows.

1. no mascara with heavy eye makeup. mukhang unfinished especially if you have very thin lashes.
2. wrong foundation shade, halatang iba ang color sa neck & arms
3. undereye concealer na very pale compared to the rest of your face
4. too much blush applied on the entire cheek area, parang sinampal hehe.
5. not my cup of tea because it rarely looks flattering on people, pero di ko gusto yung super tanned face + pale pink lipstick look
6. too thick and cakey powder/foundation. yung tipong pag kamot mo sa face mo meron mark lol.
7. super frosty browbone highlight and super frosty lips

^^ May iba naman, ang blush obvious na diagonal stripes! Di man lang na blend haha.

i have a difficulty sa pag curl ng eyelashes ko yung sa pinaka-dulo na part (outer), hindi maabot ng no-brand eyelash curler ko. kaya kelangan ililipat/iisod ko pa yung pagcurlash sa part na yun. at syempre sa paglalagay ng mascara nahihirapan din ako kaya sobrang tagal ko sa part na to. since hindi ako marunong sa eyeshadow (super sagwa kong maglagay kaya dapat neutral lang gamitin ko, hindi ako marunong nung may iba-ibang colors) eh dinadaan ko na lang sa magandang pagkaka-curl at mascara pati sa lower lashes. tapos nagmumukhang brown yung mata ko kasi super itim ng mascara.

@sheenaQ meron talagang ganun mag blush sis kahit may hawak na salamin hehe, may blockmate ako before na ganun mag-apply ng blush, but syempre, i didnt want her to look funny kaya i taught her how to apply blush properly..

@switchblade : LOL onga! may nakita din akong ganun, parang ni-sweep lang yung blush sa cheek then go na.. LOL! i agree dun sa heavy eye makeup without mascara, i remember once, i accidentally left my mascara at home, napadaan pa ko ng di oras sa beauty section ng mall to buy mascara, parang kulang talaga eh heheh!

@pink-sugar : same problem with curling the lashes, hindi ako nakukuntento sa one-time curl lang, usually immove ko yung mascara towards the corners ng eyes para macurl even yung mga lashes sa gilid, pangit din kasi pag hindi curled lahat. shiseido curler ang sobrang sakto sa eye contour ko, i can curl my lashes ng isang pass lang, and all the lashes damay na.

hindi bagay sa akin yung sa gilid hanggang temples naglalagay ng blush, hindi ko gusto hitura ko.  mas bagay sa akin yung sa apples of the cheeks mas bagay sa hugis ng mukha ko.

  i dont like yung pagkakacontour lagi sa face ni Kris Aquino, sobrang halata.

another thing pala na di ko gusto,

yung epic na pag create ng nose bridge using a bronzer/contouring powder. yung tipong halatang halatang may dark lines na sa gilid ng bridge ng nose. maganda lang kasi yung ganun sa pictures, nakakadaya, but when you go malling, and still do the same trick to make the nose look more pointed and matangos, ang sagwaaaaaa. hahaha!

^^sana pala nagbinili na ako kay sis Smile dati ng shiseido lash curler 350 pesos lang ata. yung shu uemura daw eh pang flat ang eyes? totoo kaya. kasi kung flat hindi nya talaga maabot yung dulong pilik.

kadiri din yung cakiness sa gilid ng nose dahil sa foundation/concealer.
