when i was in pinas for a vacation, i came across a store that sells knits, sweaters and jackets. It's called Terranova. Also, you can check out Zara and Marks & Spencer.

For woollen coats, there's a stall in Greenhills that sells affordable ones. Price range is 1.5K up.
For thermals, I get mine at M&S.

For a little price difference, go to M/S.  This will not be your first and last winter trip, so those M/S thermals will serve you well... they keep their shape well.

Go to Zara's.  All you need is  1 good versatile coat that you can wear with your shifts and pants... that can decently go from day to night.. Then bring 1 thick muffler and say 2 scarves.  A couple of good cardigans will do the trick.  It is cold only when you are out of the buildings,  so you don't need to dress like an Eskimo -- but dress as you usually do here in the Phils:  fashionably sensible.  :D

Don't forget to buy leather gloves when you get there.  I do not know where you can buy these here in the Phils.

Remember, cheap isn't necessarily the best... always, when you go abroad:  Best foot forward.  We Filipinos have a lot to be proud of.  :D

Hi girls, I was in Beijing last week and it was -4!  OMG!  What saved me were Heatech inner shirts from Uniqlo.  Price starts from RMB  19.00.  I had wool gloves from Zara and it didnt work.  I was freezing!

I agree with aquacharly.  I bought winter coats from Mango and Zara when it was on sale.  Puffer jackets work too but a good black coat is more versatile.

You would also need a scarf.  But if you have a pashmina or something like it, that can work too.

Sorry, Uniqlo is available everywhere but here.  Japan, HK, China, NY.  So if you chance upon a Uniqlo in your destination, try the heatech shirts.  :)

Its would be my first time to experience winter kaya nahihiya pa ko mag over the top winter attire. Haha. I dont want to look too balot na balot.

hi.. i experienced this dilemma few months ago. I wasn't able to ask for suggestions here, buti nalang hindi ako nagpost ehe. I passed by these mentioned shops kaso ang mahal grabe. I was thinking na di naman ako madalas pupunta sa snowy na place kaya ayaw ko maginvest masyado... mahal na nga pamasahe namin, gagastos pako. I went to russia by the way. And it went as cold as -8 deg when we went there. Kase sigurado pag bumili ako ng mahal, i can only buy 1  :-\. I needed to buy atleast 5 para palit palit pagdating sa pictures... I settled going to ukay ukay instead. Basta may fur sa loob and with leatherette... yun na! Try mo, mainitan ka rin naman..you'll feel it. And i also bought my thermal suit sa SM dept store. It's cheaper than MS. Pero kinaya naman talga ang lamig. It really depends on the suit and the temperature... kahit naman pagka kapalkapal ng suot kung talgang malamig na malamig e, wala rin. I suggest kung di ka maselan, ukay ukay is the best place. Brands i got there pala were Zara, MS, Bossini (for my hubby and son), and others na di ko na matandaan. Be sure ligo ka pagnafit mo. Or better ask the saleslady na, pag nalabhan tska mo ifit, pag di kasya, papalit mo :D i did that here sa pampanga :) i hope this helped :D Importante rin ang mittens, bonnet, scarf and shoes mo.

Terranova, kaso lang the clothes aren't very... fashionable? Medyo cheap looking yung iba, but if your scrounge around, you'll find something good din naman. Promod, Mango, Zara has some really nice/thick coats. :)

Parang sa Baguio before, i saw knitted gloves (malayo nga lang, sorry for the suggestion).
But mind you, even leather gloves doesn't work in sub zero temperatures, even if it has an inner lining, manipis pa rin. For really freezing temps, you can use snow gloves, but quite bulky. the trick is, if you are not holding anything, make a fist while your hands are inside the gloves, it will keep your hands from being too cold.

Try Terranova :) I think they sell faux fur coats, long sleeves and scarfs. Really affordable :)

If you're from the South, you don't have to go to Makati to visit Terranova and other branded stores. You can drop by SM Southmall :) My sister bought her clothes there for her Korea trip :)
