sis thanks, ano ba mas ok sakyan from Rome airport? taxi or train na lang para mas cheaper? nong nag paris kasi kami, ngrent a van-shuttle service kami kasi compare sa bus same lang ang price na makoconsume namin kaya ngrent a van na lang kami, paris to disneyland. nong ng london naman kami, accessible naman ang train kaya nagtrain kami. sa Italy kaya, ano ang mas maganda at cheaper?

thinking ako sa paglipat lipat ng gamit kasi ako lang mag isa at 2 kids kasama ko, si hubby kasi magstay ng Modena Italy-magkita na lang uli kami ng Rome sa ika 6th day para pasyal pasyal.me training sya don, isasama lang kami kaya ako lang w/ 2 kids ang mamamasyal, karaniwan sa isang hotel lang kami ngstay then saka kami mamamasyal. ang iniisip ko naman eh from Rome airport dretso kami ng Venice don na lang kami mgcheck in sa hotel then pasyal ng Rome via train balikan lang din. para isang accomodation lang kami. at least nasa gitna na from florence to venice at venice to rome. any suggestion? thanks.

^sis, parang mas napagod ako sa gagawin mo. Also mas mahal ang mga hotels sa Venice compared to Rome or Florence. Baka pwede pa na sa Florence kayo mag stay ng matagal kasi yun ang gitna. Then from Florence day trip mo Venice. Leave early and come back late. To give you an idea where the cities are located and the train travel time, check mo this site:

sis thanks for the link. next year mo pa pala plan ang europe trip mo. nabasa ko sa kabilang thread. si sis bankrun pala ang mag venice ng april, sana mag update sya dito ng venice tour nya. baka this MAY naman kami. di rin naman ako sure if matutuloy (knock on wood, sana matuloy).

mas mahihirapan kasi ko if me mga bagahe kami dala then lipat lipat ng place tapos ako lang with kids. di ko kakayanin. sa Modena Italy daw kasi sya eh wala naman daw masyado pasyalan don kaya iwanan daw nya kami sa Rome, balikan nya kami sa ika 6th day. hay! bahala na kung pano at saan kami mgstay. pag aralan ko muna mga places.

Yup! Kaya as early as this year careful planning na ako. That's how I do all my DIYs. Para on the trip itself plantsado talaga. Ang hirap pa naman sa Europe kasi mahal. One really has to look for good deals para pocket friendly.

If I can further suggest, you can ask hubby to leave you in Florence instead of Rome. Florence is on the way to Modena. Tipong hub ang Florence. Get a hotel or stay in an apartment there. Yun na ang home base mo. From there you can do day trips to Venice, Rome, Pisa and other nearby cities.

Then after hubby's training, he can pick you and your kids up in Florence on the way to Rome. This way you don't have to deal with your bagahes alone.

sis thanks for the tip. very helpful yung tip mo na yun na magstay na lang kami ng Florence para kahit papano medyo nasa gitna ng pasyalan. so from rome airport diretso na kami ng florence then mgstay ng rome 2 days before our flight. medyo surprise pagkakasabi kaya ilang araw lang ako magsearch ng tungkol dito. hirap ding pumunta sa isang country na wala ka man lang alam kaya dapat matagal tagal na pagreresearch. di ko pa naman ugali mag avail ng tour. mas prefer ko DIY para hawak ko oras ko at me mga kids nga rin kami kaya mega search talaga mula sa ano sasakyan, etc, etc.

^sis the rental price will depend on the rental company, the type of car and how long you will be renting. Last year when we did a road trip in Germany we paid around EUR400++ for a mini-van and a week's rental. We didn't rent a GPS na kasi meron yung kasama namin dala. Usually it will come out cheaper if you rent by the week compared to daily rates.

For flexibility advisable ang car only if you will keep out of the crowded city centers. In forsix10's case mas advisable na mag train sila when going on day trips kasi most of the places she will be going to are mga city centers na mahirap maghanap ng parking.

^^You can get tickets for USD800 during low season (winter except the Christmas holidays). During peak season (late spring, summer, early fall), tickets range from USD1000++ up.

sis wengerts I don't drive so commute lang

sis mama squeak ang latest eh sa modena na lang kami magstay then from there, saka kami mamasyal bahala na san makarating. nag google ako sa maps.google for direction, if commute lang from modena to florence abutin ng more than 7hrs pero 2hrs lang if by car. kaya hay! malamang hanggang modena lang kami.

sana me makabigay pa ng other tips saan saan at ano ano pwede naming mapasyalan if we'll be staying in Modena, Italy ng 6days. para kasing kakaunti lang attractions sa Modena. gusto ko sanang mapuntahan din ang Venice at Rome.

^sis, sinagot na kita sa European thread. Mas convenient mag train for your day trips outside of Modena. Aside from the link I gave you sa European thread, you can also check the link below:

 http://www.italiarail.com/

Modena to Venice is 2 and a half hours. Modena to Firenze is 1 hour and a half. Modena to Rome is a little more than 3 hours. So pwede ka mag day trip medyo bitin but kung yun talaga balak mo pwede na rin. Siguro start early and go home late to maximise your time.

just got back from our europe tour. my suggestion is to stay at least overnight in venice. there are lots of day trippers in the morning so venice can really be crowded. but around 5pm, crowd thin out and the beauty of venice becomes more apparent. the place is also uber lovely early in the morning! dont attempt to shop here even though there great brands all around. mahal! but the murano stuff can be affordable naman.

also, i dont know with the other hotels, but in all my travels, i experienced the best ever service in the hotel where we stayed in venice. it was just a boutique hotel but the service was superb.

^Good to know you had a great time in Venice. What's the name of the hotel where you stayed? Hubby and I are also planning to overnight in Venice. Right now I'm still looking for a place to stay.

sis we're planning na mag day tour kami ng venice, any suggestion para malibot namin yun in one day, if not kahit yung pinaka "must see attraction" na lang? at saka pagbaba ba ng train how to start our day tour. ano ba sakyan from train to some attractions like st. mark's square. hindi ba nakakaligaw mga signs doon? thanks.
