^ I know the Chief of ITAD.  I also know an action attorney from the Law Div.

Have you filed a request for ruling?  There is a specific procedure to follow and documentary requirements to submit when you file a request for tax treaty relief with the ITAD and a request for ruling with the Law Division.

You can go to ITAD every Tuesdays and Fridays to follow up or talk to the officer of the day.  Sa Law, any time puwede kang mag-inquire. :)

yes sis.. we submitted all the requirements and every tuesday and fridays follow up through phone and we plan to go there for personal follow up kasi ang laging sinasabi sa amin "in process pa yung ruling".. tapos na yung assessment, complete na lahat ng requirements, ruling na lang talaga..

true ba na mismong si kim henares daw ang mag-iissue ng ruling? kaya mahigpit ngayon?

will send pm to you sis.. thanks

^ I apply for rulings and tax treaty relief applications on a regular basis.  The last treaty relief ruling I got was last year.  It took 1 year for me to secure the ruling.  Ganoon katagal!

I have pending requests na mag-two years na this coming June. :(

^I'm only a second year student, but I suggest you start studying, at least read through (if not analyze) the laws involved in 1st year courses. Also, find a support group you can trust. If you can't find anyone among your classmates, seek out other batchmates, or your friends outside law school. Law school can get very stressful because of the workload, so finding an outlet is good. Even if you're not stressed yourself, people around you who are stressed can/might/will affect you. Learn how to combat that, and you'll do fine.

No tricks, just be ready to study like you've never studied before in your life.

p.s. I wonder if the MCQ bar exam format has made law school life easier since one doesn't have to memorize anymore.

^I don't think it's gotten easier, in my case we still have to memorize elements of statutes for recits and exams. And in most of our exams (essay + MCQ), the MCQ questions require you to know certain things by heart, otherwise you'll get the answer completely wrong.

^i agree. I took the bar last year, and thank god I passed! Nakakapraning din yung fact na buong law school life namin eh yung training geared towards sa essay type exam tapos Biglang ginawang multiple choice questions..

Yung method of study, same pa din yan. So if you don't really understand the concepts, you won't be able to choose the best answer :)

What kind of a lawyer will you be if you just read digests?  The kind that goes for short cuts.  Enough said.

Don't ask old students for feedback regarding your professors.  If malaman ninyo na terror, tatakutin ninyo lang sarili ninyo.  Just study.  Try to read all the assigned cases and readings though it seems impossible to finish everything.  Goodluck.  I won't ask you to pray, automatic na yun mapapadasal kayo. :)

^ That is so mean!  Kasalanan iyan ng school eh.  Bakit tatanggap ng maraming freshmen tapos magkikick out pagdating ng sophomore and upper years?  Obviously, the school just wants to make money.

^Hence the need for an outlet/people you can trust, to protect yourself against the many arrogant people in law school. Studying isn't the only difficult thing in law school, it's also your colleagues.

I hope those rude students get what they deserve.

speaking of old students, during my enrolment, may dalawang law students that time naglalakad sa likod ko, loudly talking about the schools' enrolees. tapos biglang banat ba naman na, "sa dami ng nag eenrol na yan for freshman, wala nang matitira nyan next sem!" sabay high five at hagalpak ng tawa, talking about their grades.

very true ang sinabi ng old students na yan.. normal na ang madami 1st year tapos nauubos na pagdating ng higher years.. in my case, 2nd sem pa lang ng 1st year naubos na agad, and nung 4th year, 5 na lang kami

normal din na mayabang pa pag lower years, then pag 4th year or magbar exam na, nawawala unti unti ang yabang.. pag 1st year, todo dala ng law books, pinagyayabang na law student, pag higher years, halos ibalot pa sa envelope at itago sa bag ang law books..

these are based on my experience..  ;D

Naku, don't listen to all the yabangs you hear.  Those won't guarantee that the source will finish law school or even pass the bar.  Nor would they determine how well you do in law school.

And, oh yeah, try to befriend the upper classmen.  Baka may maawa sa iyo o may mauto ka at ibibigay nila tips or old notes nila sa iyo.  Also when you are all stressed out with your law studies, a good advice from someone who had gone through the same thing will help a lot.  Anyway, it's never a good idea to antagonize an upper classman or even just a sophomore.

Hi sis! Atty. charlito was our prof in Consti I (we were the first class he had when he started teaching).. Mag-aral Kang mabuti hehe.. Usually style ni sir, recite ng provision, then concepts tapos cases. About the cases, marami din siya mag assign And for sure these cases will be covered in one session. Although consti naman kasi yun, but i think ganun din style niya with regard to other subjects. Yung iba kong blockmates naging prof din siya sa prop. He's very strict kasi gusto niya talaga level up yung students, but he's one of my favorite profs. You'll understand when you start reviewing for the bar na :) good luck sis! He's really nice pero pag dating sa classroom,he's a bit of a disciplinarian.
