^why not start re-building now?

Balak namin mag asawa na mag start ng negosyo that we can remotely manage, and just visit every quarter or so. The thing with businesses kasi, it's the riskiest type of investment - di katulad ng bonds, or funds na kahit papano you get to see some returns. And most times, kelangan tutukan ang negosyo. Isip ko na lang makisosyo sa mga kaibigan who needs funding, but who are perfectly capable of running a business. So while kaya pa namin mag asawa na kumita at magtrabaho para sa iba, gagawin namin - pero isip na rin ng mga ibang investments that will provide us different income streams - para pag balik namin sa Pinas, at least meron kaming maaasahan. Good luck sa atin lahat!

For vacation nalang for us. So if babalik kami sa Pinas for vacation nalang talaga. :) Though nandoon pa yung 2 younger sister ko, susunod din sila dito, ang question lang eh when...Kasi we have to wait for their petitions.

Mga sis to those who wanna invest and earn some extra income...

Remember na you get what you invested. Meaning if maliit ininvest mo, maliit din ang returns but if malaki kikita ka din ng malaki. Your job nalang is how you manage everything.

I already earn some money doing that and it's all done at Home. You'll be raking the dough! ;)

Tea97, share ko lang sa iyo.. kami ang main business na ginagawa namin ngayon ay magpa-rent ng bahay and condo.. pinapaikot namin ang pera.. the rental fee sa bahay and sa condo combined ay pang ammortization ng condo (the house is paid na).. in 6yrs pag fully paid na ang condo, we will buy again another property at ipaparent din.. on which the income from the bahay and condo will suffice the payment for the new property.. this is the safest remote business we can think of..

^public schools here are not free pero very much affordable.. i heard less than a $100.. pero ang downside ay local english (singlish) accent ang bata.. which I refuse.. hindi din ako comfortable sa amount of stress na ini-instill nila sa mga bata.. but i hope kayanin namin sa international school.. yan ang project talaga namin.. pero wala na chance magkaron pa ng another baby haha ang mahal kasi!

Yes, public schools in Sg are very affordable.  Grade school (di ko pa alam sa HS) ranges from Sgd 15-35/month.  So bale mga P500-P1000/month.

And I also agree, ayoko din ng Singlish, hindi ko sila maintindihan :(  On top of it, napakabilis pa magsalita, akala mo laging hinahabol ng apoy.

As for the stress, dito medyo salungat ang experience ko compared sa Pinas.  Sa Gradeschool, I find Pinas private schools more stressful compared to Sg public schools. Dito, all they have to do is focus on understanding the lessons for Math, Science, English and Mother Tongue (Chinese or some other language).  Kahit pangit sulat ok lang (which is another thing I dont like, ang pangit ng penmanship nila kasi wala nga sila masyadong homework or practice sa pagsulat).  The advantage is, naka focus talaga sila during exam time.

Feeling ko nga naging mas kampante ang anak ko when we transferred here.

So may pros and cons din ang educ system.

scary ang singlish talaga lah! but what i observed sa mga pamangkin ko is they talk singlish if kaharap nila locals, their friends or classmates but when kami or other people, they speak english the right way.

^ gusto ko education system nila dito. i get to see the materials of my pamangkin sa P2 and P5 way advance sa pinas. i think some schools in the PH use the SG mathematics curriculum din.

we want to go back sa PH definitely, but not soon.

In US, they acquired Singapore Math.. mga primary textbooks and syllabus they got it from the national curriculum of Singapore..

Only if their english is not singlish, i wouldn't think twice to send my son to public schools here.. then we wouldnt have considered moving back to pinas.. i like the lifestyle in Singapore.. pantay pantay ang tao.. you wouldnt be able to classify if the person is rich, poor, or middle class... hindi masyado (discrete) ang gossip...

Upon retirement siguro pwede na umuwi permanently. Right now, we help out back home like I buy used books pag may library sale. Then I send it sa Calvary Kids sa Bacolod. Pag tight yung budget, I donate it to Books for the Barrios here then they send it to Mindanao naman.

Yung neighbor namin nung nag moving sale, binili ko lahat ng used clothes then I sent it to Missionaries of Charity.

God willing, pag nakaipon, we can retire early so we can focus on helping NGOs in Pinas :)

I  retired early and can stay in the Philippines for a few months visit and then back to LA with family for the rest of the time. Can enjoy both locations. No need to choose. Like to stay in Phil. much longer when wife also retires. Talked/suggested to my LA family  doctor(also a Filipino)recently about him being able to afford a house in Forbes Park or any very expensive subdivision in the Phil. and the lifestyle that comes with it  when he finally retires from his medical practice a few years from now and he said  that he does not to live there anymore even though  he can afford any  house in such exclusive subdivision. My guess is he hates the big big  inequalities that exist in Phil society. He is the only doctor I know who is very frugal that he  makes house and office improvements personally. He said he was mistaken for a delivery person bec. he drives an old beat up toyota pickup truck.
