TTC's who got pregnant: Your Journey to BFP
« on: November 26, 2010, 01:16:49 PM »
Hi everyone!

Usually, when I'm reading a forum and someone says they're pregnant already, I can't help but backread and try to see what treatments they have done, or if they took some vitamins, etc. Kadalasan, natatabunan yung mga gantong klase ng posts.

I have a favor to ask those who got pregnant already, or those who just recently found out that they're pregnant. It would really help us a lot, those who are still trying, to know what you have gone through to get that much awaited BFP.

I have compiled the questions asked in the forum:

1. What's your diagnosis? (PCOS/Endo/etc)
2. How many years TTC?
3. What meds did you take while TTC?
4. Any fertility supplements?
5. Name of OB - Hospital/Clinic
6. Message/Tips for those still TTC

For sure marami pang questions. By posting BFP's here in this thread, baka sakaling makakita tayo ng similarities, etc. :) It will really help us a lot, and will inspire us na BFP is just around the corner.

Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! Here's mine:

1. What's your diagnosis?
- PCOS both right and left, 40 lbs overweight (sinama ko narin to kasi 3 OB's I went to pointed this also as a cause why hirap mabuntis), retroverted uterus

2. How many years TTC?
- 2 years and 2 months

3. What meds did you take while TTC?
- 1st OB (Oct 2008): 1 check up lang, gave me metformin and folic acid only. Di pa ganun ka determined mabuntis so di na kami bumalik on my second day of menses as she instructed.
- 2nd OB (Mar 2009): After research dito sa GT, I visited Dr Illescas. Two cycles of clomid (3x a day), Follart, Metformin (Humamet). Although may dominant follicles both months walang nabuo.
- 3rd OB (Jan 2010): Recommendation ng officemate we went to Dr Mendiola of CMC. He is also an andrologist. He found out that hubby's SA motility and morphology are both low. So he treated us ng sabay. For me--2x a day clomiphene, folicare, Metformin (Glucophage). For hubby--Polinerve E w/ Lecithin and Antibiotics. After one cycle, positive na.

4. Any fertility supplements?
- None. Novena kay St Pio.

5. Name of OB - Hospital/Clinic
- Dr Rogelio Mendiola/Capitol Medical Center (Reproductive Endocrinologist)

6. Message/Tips for those still TTC
- Enjoy these moment na kayong dalawa lang muna ni hubby. Believe in the power of prayers. Think of having a baby as just a "bonus" to remove the pressure. I know what most of our sisses are going through so having a supportive hubby is one of God's greatest gift too.

BTW, our boy baby is now two weeks old. I am confident makakagawa naman kami ng baby girl 2-3 years from now.  :D

Baby dust to everyone.  :-*

If nag smoke si hubby patigilin muna kasi yun ang isa sa cause ng low sperm.

Sharing mine...

1. What's your diagnosis? (PCOS/Endo/etc)
PCOS. Dermoid cyst on left ovary.

2. How many years TTC?
Almost 2 years.

3. What meds did you take while TTC?
Nothing.  Didn't even have the dermoid cyst removed :D

4. Any fertility supplements?
None.

5. Name of OB - Hospital/Clinic
I'm based in the US, and I'm seeing a group of OBs at Barnes.

6. Message/Tips for those still TTC
I remember my first OB saying that it's hard (and even dangerous) to get pregnant when the dermoid cyst is there.  I didn't have it removed and I stopped stressing myself about it... now I'm 6mos on the way! It's true that stress can really mess with your cycle and if it's not time yet, it won't happen. Just surrender this desire to the Lord and trust that in His perfect time He will bless you with a beautiful child :)
Getting angry is actually punishing yourself with the mistakes of others.

Hi Ladies,

This will actually be my 1st post, hope it's helpful.  :) Here's my story:

1. What's your diagnosis? (PCOS/Endo/etc)
6 months before the wedding - had myself checked (TVS, etc.) no problems. Around 3 months into the wedding, went back to OB now diagnosed with PCOS. Had a full work-up - all the blood tests, checking of tubes - everything else fine.

2. How many years TTC?
1 year 8 months of no contraceptives.
Aggressive TTC for 3 cycles
Charted my temps for 3 months or so

3. What meds did you take while TTC?
1 cycle of Clomid and HCG shot
2 cycles of Letrozole and HCG shots

4. Any fertility supplements?
Acupuncture for around 3-5 months for overall wellness
Folic Acid (in case of pregnancy)
Megamen Vitamin for Hubby (although he has no problems)

5. Name of OB - Hospital/Clinic
3 aggressive TTC cycles - Dra. Manalo in Makati Med and Asian
Acupuncture - TCM in Glorietta

6. Message/Tips for those still TTC
PRAY and BE PATIENT. Am almost 7 weeks pregnant now but I haven't seen an OB/acupuncturist in the last 5 months. I stopped charting my temps awhile back too. We stopped trying for awhile already and I just prayed for acceptance for whatever God's will is. Am still in my 20s so I wasn't in a rush but it was quite frustrating, especially when I was supposedly perfectly healthy (never missed a period til now when I got pregnant, no other problems). We just stopped thinking about it and stressing about it and it happened.  :)  We found out about it a couple of days after my husband got a better job ;) Everything in God's time talaga.

Also, OB now, Dra. Illescas, suspects (seen sa TVS but not confirmed through laparoscopy) that I may have endometria in my right ovary, which would supposedly have made it more difficult to conceive. My last OB visit (with Dra. Illescas also) around 5 months ago before this pregnancy, no endometria seen. You can never say talaga. Just don't lose hope and keep the faith!  :)
