House blessing/Store blessing etc
« on: November 13, 2010, 12:20:23 AM »
mga sis, how much did you spend on your house blessing? we just moved in to our new house (newly renovated narin) last october 16, hanggang ngayon di pa namin napapabless... medyo tight kasi ang budget ngayon kaya di namin alam kung kelan namin mapapabless yung house.  siguro ny december na yun since magsstart pa lang ako sa work ko this 15th.

any special preparations that we need to do? sorry sobrang clueless talaga ako...  :(

btw, we are both roman catholic ..... aside from the fee of the priest for the house  blessing and yung food ng mga aattend, ano pa yung dapat ko isama sa budgetting namin?

and normally how much yung fee ng priest sa pagpapabless? anong klaseng food ang dapat iserve on the day itself? may specific ba? or anything will dO?

thank you po sa sasagot  :D

Hi, honeybunny.  I have no idea as to the cost of how much to ask a priest to preside over a blessing.  Alam ko they term this as donation.  You should check out your local parish for details.

As for preparations, per norm there should be something made of rice.  If possible, sweet and sticky.  Less on the sour ones and avoid having playing sa background ang news, sad o heavy metal music.

Also, I strongly advise you to only invite sa blessing itself yun mga really want to see you and your family find success and happiness in your new home.  Yun mga tipong pupunta lang para makakain ng libre ask them to arrive after or wait outside.

And make sure all the areas have been blessed by the priest.  Kung ma-late magsimula at tipong napansin mo gutom ay bigyan mo something to fill their tummy.  May napuntahan ako mukhang yun lechon ang binabasbasan dahil gutom yun pari and staff niya.
Cheap work ain't good.  Good work ain't cheap.

any suggestions, sisses? :)

Hi, onefineapril.

Maganda yan idea mo.

Yun handaan it depends sa budget and guests mo rin kasi.  Some sinasabay sa piyesta but that's in the provinces.  Just avoid alcoholic drinks on the handaan day itself kung maari as some tend to put the effects in their heads than where it should be.

Also, try to find a priest that's really into his duty.  That way mas maganda ang maging chi ng home mo.  Make sure they have enough holy water on hand as sometimes bitin ang dala nila.  And uulitin ko lang, make sure every area of your home has been blessed such as the bodega under the stairs, CR, etc.  Pati yun bawat sulok ng garden mo.

Cheap work ain't good.  Good work ain't cheap.

Ibigay ko na yun basic guide on how to do this.  Feel free to share this with anyone.

The first thing to do is CLEANSE your home.  Just like in making your car nice dapat masabon muna ito before you wax it.

Cleanse your home using prayers at the very least.  You do not need a priest to be with you to do this.  Kailangan rin ninyo matutunan para you can do this regularly.  Blessings rin should be done from time to time.

Use the prayers I shared sa ibang thread.  Pray it from the heart.  Yun prayer for blessing of buildings is actually cleansing and blessing but the latter is best done by a priest or minister - again, hindi kailangan specific religion huwag lang of the dark ones.

You can say it kahit sa sala lang just make sure ALL the doors sa rooms are open.

Pray it from the heart ha.  Hindi pwede yun napilitan lang.  If there is such one with you bigyan mo na lang ng pang merienda sa kanto at bumalik na lang after.

Then sked ninyo yun blessing for your home/office.  If you are curious what is my part in this when doing a professional call is to make sure that it is done right and the chi is indeed improved although at one case I was there to spot the possible suspect na may masamang intention sa owner.

Ang mauunang papasok dapat sa bahay ay yun priest with his assistant.  If you have lots of priests invited to do the blessing ay sila at ang mga alalay nila dapat mauna.  Followed dapat ng owner at partner o asawa niya. Sabay sila dapat and carrying a blessed religious image.  Sa mga atheists obviously you won't be doing this anyway.

Cheap work ain't good.  Good work ain't cheap.

Pasensya na at continue ko here as at some certain point the message box keeps moving up and down.

The next that should follow the couple should be the children of the owner of the place. By rank NOT unless one is of the dragon sign.  If one of the couple who owns the place is of the dragon sign dapat a step back.  If its one of the children or apo dapat sa huling huli sila but before the rest of the guests o hindi relative/family member that will reside sa place.  This is because malakas masyado ang sign ng dragon.  As to determine your animal sign just Google it na lang.

They, the next to follow the owners to enter the place, should carry with them the usual stuff.  Salt, rice, water, sugar, oil, etc.

However, my approach is different as I require that the first thing the couple would do is to place those images sa altar and have it blessed by the priest(s).  Then and only then should the other things follow.

This way the unstable chi that is still in the area will not influence the unborn child.  Ditto goes for its mother.  Nakawin man again itong advice at least it will help save someone.

After the blessing is done prepare a seat for the priest and his assistant.  It is best kung seated siya at the head of the table to bless it too.

Hope it helps answer most of the questions here.  Hindi ko lang talaga alam ang PF but I know it isn't that expensive naman.

Thanks for the tips!

Priest
Sacristan/Minister+their relatives if they are with them (Spouse, kids)
Resident/Owner of the House+kids

Sa case ko po kasi, I'll be living with my daughter lang sa 18.5 sq.m. studio type unit. Nasa 5th floor kami, unit 527 tapos sa Feb kami lilipat (ito ba ang tamang time do so?).

Pasensya na if me konting consultation na tinatanong ko. Sobrang kabado ako ngayon & hindi ako makatulog re this matter.

Thank you so much in advance!

No.  Tama na mauna yun mag-bless and sa Catholics it'll be the priest assisted by his assistants.  Ang susunod dapat ay yun may-ari ng bahay then their kids by rank.  Mahuli yun other people kahit pa assistant ng assistant ng pari.

And the item that the couple should carry is a blessed item.  For Catholics, I strongly suggest that pa-bless ninyo Sacred Heart then mount it above the door before the priest formally begins everything.  This way you are welcoming Him and Him alone into your home.

5 plus 2 plus 7 equals to 14 which is broken down into 1 plus 4 equals to 5.  5th floor ka rin.  555.  5 plus 5 plus 5 equals 15 that is in turn comes out as 1 plus 5 na equals naman to 6.  So good number :)

Earth Horse at Fire Dog.  Nice combination.  Your child is a strong inspiration and support for you.  Well, the month of February is divided between the Tiger and Rabbit na supportive for both but more sa Dog.

Sir Chard, does this have a relation w/ the filipino myth na bawal magpagawa ng bahay ang buntis and bawal maglipat ng bahay pag buntis?

Hi, johan827.

One of such state can commission naman such a deed but I opine it would be the stress of insuring all is done right and fair - knowing how some cheat on the materials and labor - that will affect the mother and child.

Being present at a place where the construction is being done isn't good dahil the chi is unstable pa nga.  Think of it as a forge where a masterpiece is still being crafted.  You are exposing both mother and child to dangers which can affect not just the two but future generations as well.  Hence, the risk is just too great.

The same goes when moving to a new home.  Hindi pa timplado ang chi sa kanila.  Some of you may have experienced yun feeling na namamahay even if that used to be your old room.  Yan yun.  May mga tao naman na mabilis maka-adapt which is a plus but minus rin in some ways.  Minus as you lack sensitivity to danger.

We'll be moving to our new place on Feb. 6 na... I'm really excited and broke at the same time hehe... I went to St. Pio's chapel kanina to buy Sacred Heart kaso wala pala dun 'yun... I'll be buying plants na din for the window. Kapagod yet fulfilling experience ang paglilipat.

Hi, switsuplada.

Have that, yun Sacred Heart, blessed on the day of your house blessing itself.  Before kayo pumasok sa main door ay pa-bless mo muna yun sa pari then mount it before anyone even goes past the main door.  This way si God mismo ang nauna pumasok and you welcomed Him.  This applies to those of other religion pero palitan lang ninyo with something that is accepted and related to your faith.  Like, ang unang ilagay for others may be Sutras, Koran, Bible, etc.  Always emphasize on Him before anything else.  After that ay bago lang papasok dapat ang pari at assistant to be followed by the owners - sabay dapat not unless one is of the Dragon sign kaya dapat at least a step back siya sa hindi Dragon sign.

Hello again sir! I feel like placing it there to protect our house from any danger like gas leaks, etc. from the kitchen.

Hi, switsuplada.

It would be best if the Sacred Heart is placed above the main door else beside it kasi kapag on the door itself ay it might fall lang.  Kung hindi pwede outside ay place it inside your place pero facing the main door directly.

The same will apply sa St. Benedict for your back door.  Some though bury St. Benedict medallions sa foundation but prayers are still better than such a passive act.

Hi, wickedbone.

No need to include yun parking area and drying cage although if you can include that sa blessing ay it would be much better.  Most often those are areas missed nowadays when it comes to blessings - and sadly a lot of priests and ministers aren't bent on doing their work properly.  Oy, not all pa ha.  Just observations in my professional work.

Thanks sir! I had my place blessed yesterday and nailagay ko na po 'yung Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart na din three days before ako magpa-bless ng house namin. :)

@Mr. CH, when you say Sacred Heart, yun po bang solo na Jesus Christ lang or yung Twins hearts with Mother Mary? kadalasan kong nakikita sa mga bahay or gate eh yung Twin Hearts po. and this should be hanged directly above the main door itself po?

good day bro ch, as of now hindi pa kami nakakalipat ng house dahil di pa maikabit kabit ang ilaw sa 2nd floor. Question ko lang po:

1. Wala po kasi mother ko dito kaya ang pinakahead ay ang father ko which is dragon sign (2-9-52), sa sinabi ninyo na "By rank NOT unless one is of the dragon sign.  If one of the couple who owns the place is of the dragon sign dapat a step back". pero sabi kasi ng mama ko year ngayon ng papa ko which is dragon.
