Hi mga sis,

What could it mean if the companies you are targeting for a job do not reply to your job application via e-mail or jobstreet? does it automatically mean I am not considered?
Is still advisable to walk-in or mas ok thru e-mail?

Thanks,

Trew

^ Hi sis, its either you did not meet the qualifications or matagal lang hiring process nila. Some companies kasi mabilis mag respond while others might take forever. Usually BPOs, one day processing or a week. It depends din sa urgency ng position.

Some companies require thru email lang and hindi nag a-accept ng walk in. It depends sis, usually posted naman sa advertisement.

Sometimes madami ang waiting queue ng applicants.  Most of the times naman when you send application my response naman from the company confirming the receipt.  Best is while you are waiting, try to check other vacancies din

hi mga sis, eto mga tips ko.

1. questions about yourself- always follow the rule of 3
ex.  Q. tell me something about yourself?
      A. i like reading books because it enhances my communication skills, and....and....
(so atleast give 3 reasons in this way it avoids FOLLOW UP questions. now, in reference din sa "tell me something about yourself question" you can atleast give them a brief summary ng work experience mo but not totally yung nakalagay sa resume mo kasi parang redundant ang labas non, or you can state anything na hindi naman nakalagay sa resume mo. yung iba kasing interviewers hindi nagbabasa ng resume meron namang iba na nagbabasa.)

2. questions about situational - rule of STAR

S-situation
T-target
A-action plan
R-result

ex. Q. how will you handle an agent who is always absent
     A. well, the situation is agent is not coming to work, my aim here is to know the reason why he is always absent and for him to come to work and perform at his best. i will talk to my agent, build rapport and gain his trust after that i will ask him why he is always absent if its personal reason then i will give him some advice but still be professional, i will set expectations, provide him a glide path and will give him a leeway in order for him to catch up. moving forward, he will come on time and will perform at his best.

S- the situation is agent is not coming to work
T- my aim here is to know the reason why he is always absent and for him to come to  work and perform at his best.
A- will talk to my agent, build rapport and gain his trust after that i will ask him why he is always absent if its personal reason then i will give him some advice but still be professional, i will set expectations, provide him a glide path and will give him a leeway in order for him to catch up.
R- moving forward, he will come on time and will perform at his best.

-syempre pag pala absent ang agent damay pati ang performance niya. so you can also add:
a.will do proper monitoring
b.side by side coaching
c.provide feedback every now and then

-if you guys notice maraming mga strong words sa answer ko like,
a.build rapport
b.trust
c.set expectations
if you can add more mas better. yung mga strong words hindi lang sa situational pwedeng gamitin even sa "about youself questions pwede din yan.

-now, pag ang follow up question sayo dyan eh "what if your plan doesnt work" then kelangan alam mo ang house rule ng company niyo,. like " if my plan A doesnt worked, then i will proceed with my plan B which is i will issue a disciplinary action."

hope this helps sa mga sisses nating nag hahanap ng work.  goodluck!  :)

I do not have scholastic records, I'm only an average student, pero maaga kong naka graduate, I'm only 19 now. I do not have any extra curricular activities, focus kasi ako sa studies ko.

I don't know what to do now, parang lahat ng nakausap kong HR ayaw sa ganun.. :(
how can i get a job? :( so sad...

any advice.

Hi, hermione28.

Hindi ako expert HR ha but what I can opine is that one with extra-curricular activities sa school is a better rounded person than one without.  Interaction with others is very important na na-discover ng mga companies unlike before na small family-owned enterprises lang na parang robot nakatutok lang sa papel the whole day yun accountant.  And believe me I used to see such when going my rounds.  Yuck!

Wala akong money para mag weekeds pa aa school, ayoko inuuwi ng gabi mga ganung reason why i don't join activites during college and high school.

Hi muli, hermione28.

He he.  But correct ka na life is really unfair.  But, that is no excuse to lie.  Having extra-curricular activities in school as well as having decent or good grades speaks more than one without kasi.  I am not familiar with how things are with other schools but extra-curricular activities are usually sked after classes ng 1- or 2-hours past dismissal time.  Kapag college naman ay mga clubs na you can be with on your free time.

The best you can do right now is make a list of what you do on your spare time and if it interacts with others na hindi mo naman kasama sa bahay.  Like do you do weekend gardening with your neighbors, do taichi o wushu, help with the streetkids o visit and make happy those abandoned sa home for the aged, etc.  Kung wala best start doing something na.  You can try to lie but if you do it before someone like I who can spot a lie a mile away ay good luck kung malulusot mo yun.

You can also mention your hobbies or interests or kung nagco-collect ka ng something. They just want to know you more that's why they're asking that question. Or kung me talent ka in painting, singing, etc maybe you can also mention that.

Hi, alam mo ako din graduate ng accountancy, wala akong extra curricular activities and focused din ako, but i managed to get a spot on a stock brokerage company.  Don't think that dahil wala kang extra curricular activities, it means you are not complete na, in my humble opinion.  When you are asked what other things you do outside school hours, think of things you do that involves interaction with other people.  You said that you have lots and friends and an enthusiastic person, so tell them what are the things you do with your friends and what are the things that makes you happy.  Extra curricular activities not exactly means anything that is still connected sa school like clubs, it can be anything else you do other than studying.

They are just asking you that kasi a call center job or a customer service job involves interaction with people over the phone and it is very important that you are exposed to conversation with people and it is in your trait that you love interaction.  Baka you were making a false impression that you are so much serious and you don't know how to interact with others anymore.

Now when it comes to the interview part, the flow of the interview are based on the answers you provide...take control of the interview.  Bring up interesting facets about your personality aside from being a dedicated and focused student.  Show them that not only you are intelligent, but also lively, happy person too.  Before they are even going to ask you about extra curricular activities, provide them some interesting skills and hobbies you have. You can do it, just do not give up.

HTH ;)

Hi mga sis :) I plan to apply to call center companies. Kinakabahan ako. Ask ko lang, how would you answer these questions?

1. Aside from this job, what other kinds of jobs have you applied for? (1st time to apply in a company)
2. What is your ideal job?
3. How would you describe great customer service?
4. What would you do if you had trouble placing a client in a job?
5. When a project didn’t turn out the way you expected, how did you handle the situation?

Thanks mga sis! Your help will be deeply appreciated :)

Hi! The answers to these questions should come from you, based on your experiences and your honest opinions. Remember, the interviewer wants to get to know YOU, how you respond to situations, and what your skills are.  It won't be of any help if you obtain these answers from anyone else but yourself. But here's how you can come up with answers:

Describing your ideal job
This is a very open-ended question that interviewers usually ask to see if you are a good fit for the company and for the position you are applying for. Don't be afraid to be honest about what kind of job you really want, even if it might cost you the job opportunity. Let's face it - if you think you'll work better in a creative job at a small company, then you won't be happy at a large corporation. If you really want the job at the company you're applying at, then describe what you like about the workplace. Of course, avoid smart-aleck answers like, "My ideal job is to laze around the beach." That won't get you any offers. :P

How would you describe good customer service
Questions like this are designed to test your knowledge about how to handle customers and provide great service. If you don't have experience dealing with customers, describe how you like to be treated when you go shopping or when you're at a restaurant, and talk about how you can also give people the same treatment.

For situational questions like 4 and 5, explain the situation briefly in 3 steps:
1) what was the problem or situation
2) what you did to dissolve the situation/solve the problem. Be very specific.
3) the results of your efforts
If this is your first time to apply for a job, try to think of a similar experience at school, during group work or with your college organization.

Hope this helps!
