About neem tree, yup maigsi lang ang buhay ng isang puno (matagal na ang 15 years) pero super bilis naman nya lumaki at super dali alagaan. In fact kapag pinabayaan mo sya na nakatanim sa lupa, bago mamatay ang original plant mo me mini gubat ka na ng neem tree. Di sya advisable sa paso kasi puno yan eh.

My tip for the, dahon ng pandan against ipis and lamok (don't know about the lamok pero sure ako ipis). Sabi nila ayaw daw kasi ng ipis ang amoy nito. Ok ilagay sa kabinet, yun nga lang nakakagutom kapag bubuksan mo ang cabinet mo hehe.  ;D

agree ako about the pandan leaves. kami, pipitas lang ng dahon tapos ilalagay sa loob ng cabinet. they (ipis) don't like the smell ng pandan. same goes for oregano na ayaw ng mga ahas ng amoy (ok, hindi na 'to insect so OT na).  ;)

as per our experience, very effective ang insect repellant tree.. nakabili kami ni hubby sa greenhills (it's near the chapel) at P80.00 per plant.. yung tawag naman sa nabili namin Malbarosa.. I'm not sure if thesame sya sa neem tree.. pero nawala talaga yung mosquitoes sa labas ng house namin..

we were told by the tindera na every other day lang sya pwedeng paarawan saka sa morning lang at few hours lang dapat ibilad sa araw. and syempre water everyday..

sis have you tried venus fly trap & pitcher plant? They can add an exotic touch to your garden. I saw a store in Manila Seedling Bank selling it a while back. Di lang sila insect repelling, they "eat" the small insects so siguradong di na talaga babalik.

I don't know if I have a green thumb (Parang feeling ko, mamamatayan ako ng halaman. LOL). Yung insect repelling plants na mentioned here, do you know po if they're easy to take care of? I have an unused balcony outside my room and I'd like to put some plants there. Laging mainit dun kasi super maaraw, and I read na herbs like that kind of environment. Yung ibang plants na mentioned sa thread na 'to, okay din kaya kung laging nasa araw? :)

Thanks sis thansher01 for the malvarosa plant tip! Will check it out!
May mga pandan ako sa garage namin. I don't see roaches anymore.
Makapitas na din ng dahon para mailagay sa mga cabinet at ilalim ng kama!

Natural mosquito repellant pala ang malvarosa!
