Hi,

I've seen several OB Gynes since 2011-
OB # 1 - I got pregnant the natural way, but had a miscarriage 8 ++ weeks into the pregnancy. She later on couldn't explain it and was recommending I have myself checked for APAS (which reportedly costs 70k for a workup).
OB# 2  was too nonchalant about the miscarriage and wanted us to try the natural way.
OB # 3 is a Infertility Specialist/RE/OB- is very competent and was the first one among the bunch who  recommended that my husband had himself checked as well. She was the one who diagnosed me with PCOS and I have been taking Humamet for one year already. My husband is also taking a lot of medicines which helped his motility (which includes Glutathione).

Last December 2011, OB # 3 recommended we go through AI/IUI, which sadly after initial positive results failed. Now, she wants us to do the procedure again (which we're very hesitant about, not only because of the the strain on our finances, but also because it's such a stressful experience).

My question is- I am now looking for another specialist who can confirm if I should do the AI or we can opt for a more natural course (or if my husband needs to go to a urologist).

I have narrowed my list to
Dr. Ma. Concepcion Oreta
Dr. Theresa Vergara
Dr. Mae Syki Young
Dr. Angela Aguilar

I want someone who has more than 20+ years of experience already.

If any of you has had experience with these doctors, kindly let me know.

Thanks, appreciate it!

Hello again!

2nd ob- dr. elsie badillo pascua... st lukes qc. wala akong endometriosis. pero pcos naman nakita sa akin. saka vaginal analysis.. mild kaya pinagtreat ako. pagkamens ko first day balik daw me sa kanya start ng fertility pills... clomid etc sabi niya pcos daw kapag hindi nastimulate using pills... baka maopera. natakot tuloy ako. aggressive agad treatment niya sa akin eh.  :'(

lumipat ako kay DR. Angela Aguilar. sabi niya ayun no need daw matakot na pcos ako. hindi naman daw agad opera. hindi nga dapat itreat. kasi genetics siya. monitored lang. saka bagets pa ako. last year may 2011 lang din kami kinasal. so natural method kami 3 months. awa ng Diyos nagkaroon ako ng 1 dominant egg this cycle. hiyang na ata ko sa kanya. inexplain niya sa akin yung mga methods and cycle na gagawin namin... na hindi naexplain nung dalawang ob ko. ganun ata kapag infertility specialist.
  :D
feeling ko magtatagal ako kay dr. aguilar. gusto ko kasi magaling at mabait. isama mo na pati secretary. :)

hope that helps!

^ have you checked your tubes after miscarriage? after miscarriage there is a chance your tubes will scar of if ever you had infection. Who said APAS work up is 70k? The test only cost 6,410 to be exact at PGH around 15k at Asian Hospital. If you are indeed positive for APAS, you will undergo medication WHILE you are pregnant. There are lots of immunological problems aside from APAS. Regarding IUI, there is really a little chance if morphology is not good. Ask your doctor to monitor your cholesterol, sugar and the likes. Age is a great factor too, and also weight issues.

Hi mga sis,
I came across this board while i was searching for an endocrinologist. Just want to ask sana if doc aguilar will accommodate consultations regarding hormones but not fertility per se? :) I recently turned 30 and have been suffering from a lot of cystic acne kasi (dati naman, okay ang skin ko). :( a friend suggested kase that I visit endo because it might have something to do with hormones.
Thanks! :) apologies if out of the topic sya  :-[

Hi sissies.. does anyone here had heard or encountered Dra. Mary Joyce Medina? She's my current OB kase, wev been ttc for almost 3 yrs though paputol putol ang pawork-up. Ive been to Dra Sua Lao and Dra Aguilar, but due to some reasons i decided to look for another one plus accredited pa cia ng HMO ko. Though my first encounter with her is ok naman, she's nice and hindi nagmamadali even though im her last patient and may for OR sya.

I'll appreciate all ur inputs.. thanks, god bless!

sis joan_0519, i suggest na wag papalit palit ng ob.. kasi everytime bago ob mo, back from scratch ka eh.. your third ob suggested IUI kasi naka-ilang tries na kayo ng natural method pero failed..  actually, ganyan naman talaga procedure eh.. natural method tapos next yung with aid of clomid na, then iui, then ivf.. yung clomid i think 3 cycles lang dapat na sunud-sunod kasi nakakanipis ng lining yun.. then youcan rest for half-year tapos another 3 rounds uli.. pag wala pa rin iui na.. IUI kasi less chance talaga specially like one of our sisses mentioned, morphology yung problem.. may mga kakilala ako yung husband nila nag-take ng enduranz and effective naman.. pero sila unexplained fertility kasi..

is your ob #3 Dra. Eileen Manalo?

my current ob si dra. cassanova in asian hospital. 2nd cycle ko na ng clomiphine. hoping and praying na hindi na ako umabot ng 3rd cycle kasi mejo expensive ang work up. lalo na pag monitoring ng follicle kasi every after 2 days ang tvu.
she's nice naman and sasagutin niya mga tanong mo and ieexplain niya talaga results ng test mo.

anyone can reco a good OB/Sono in Cardinal Santos or St. Luke's QC or even Medical City. Prefereably with own TVU or Ultrasound machine.

I have heard of Pastorfide, Sua-Lao, Aguilar, any feedback? I'm newly married and have PCOS.

My current OB is Dr. Pastorfide.  He is considered the pioneer of ivf in the Phils.  He is very experienced I might say based on how he deals with his patient.

Dra. Sua-lao was my OB last year who performed my laparoscopy.  Infertility specialist din siya.  If you need their contacts you may pm me sis.  Bawal kasi mag post dito.

Hth!  :)
