^true sis! I want to go sa Sta.Cruz Island, but sabi ng tita ko who's residing in Zambo eh need daw ng military escort dun. Nasa list ko itong pink beach.

I've been to Zambo last year ang sarap ng seafoods!
Enjoy while it lasts!

we went there mga 2 or 3 years ago. maganda ang lugar nila. ang mura ng paninda sa barter. :) we stayed at la vista del mar beach resort. when we [textspeak!] to sta. cruz island may escort talaga, di daw pwedeng wala. kasi sabi nila yung katabing island nun is basilan na.  sa sta. cruz island kami nag-lunch, i think pina-arrange yung food dun nung officemate ko na taga doon.
at first di ako naniniwala na pink ang sand. hehe pagdating dun, pink nga. actually white and pink and super fine. napansin ko lang pagbasa at sobrang init ng araw lalong nagiging pink ang color. :)

i've been to zambo pero as a hub lang. kasi this is the only way going to tawi-tawi and sulu.  anyway, what i like about zambo is small lang siya and masayahin ang mga tao dito. I always stay at Orchid Garden Hotel.  Walking distance lang siya from the airport. so kung magpapasundo kayo sa hotel, it can also be arranged.

they have this park. i think this is where the treehouse is located.  they have this park where 14 (not sure with the number) of concrete tents tribute to all the boy scouts who went to a jamboree trip and had a plane crash. nice ang park kasi maraming pumupunta. free ang entrance.  they also have this butterfly sanctuary and pool something. i forgot the name. was not so tempted to linger kasi daming tao and kinda dirty. (sorry)

zambo has 3 malls that i know of. The Gateway, Southway and Mindpro.  Sa gateway ako namimili nung Alavar na crab sauce. and their alamang is the best. also try their spanish sardines.

Sa barter namn, you can find malong and shawls na mura. and you can also haggle.  marami din dun mga products from malaysia like sotanghon na very good quality, mahling, mga coffee and mga chocolates and biscuits.  haggle lang para makamura.

no taxi in zamboanga tricycle lang. minimum pag ikaw lang ang pasahero ang babayran mo is 20 pesos. from my hotel going to the gateway around 25 pesos. i'll post more kung may maalala pa ako. :)

i thought about going there around 2007 to see nga sta. cruz island because i really want to see a pink sand beach. done with all the white sand beaches nang konti. pink is the new white. lol. but apart from scheduling conflicts, natakot talaga ako. and to this day, takot pa din ako hehe. but i've read some people say that it's really nice. sayang lang that it's hard to market because you can't blame people din for being scared of the area. ayan tuloy, subic beach sa matnog, sorsogon ang baka targetin ko. kung pink sand nga yun. but i think mas maganda yung sa zamboanga. but then again, hard to judge by pics alone. :)

honestly, ako rin first kong apak sa Zambo, i was really really scared. but then, have to conquer my fear eh.  and later on you'll realize ok namn yung place. yun lang kasi as sis mooncake and leaves said, mahirap imarket kasi nga sa mga nangyayari sa area.  yung recent bombing sa airport was a big blow sa city.
