as far as I know, there's a law na against pre approved CCs. dami kasi nagkaka prob with it, hindi ma manage. for me it's good to have a CC, for emergency purposes, not for shopping  :P

marami ng companies now ang nagbibigay talaga ng pre-approved credit cards.  check mo kung maganda mga perks that come with it. kung responsible ka naman na cc user, gamitin mo siya. make sure you pay the full amount every month para walang interest. The ipa-cancel mo siya before the year ends para walang annual fee charge. Although kung good standing ka at marami purchases, they'll waive your annual fees naman.

You will get a lot of not-applied for credit cards if your credit card history is good.

I always pay my due bill in full, all the time, on time.
So  I never apply for a credit card. They send me.   It is usually the bank managers who bring it to us.
So tama kayo dyan.
I never pay for annual fees too.  Hello.
I do not think it is all because I use it a lot. IMO, it is because my credit history (which nasisilip ng other  credit card issuers) is good.   I think it does not matter if I charge only  5thou a month or 50thou -- Basta you pay in full on time, they will send you free cards, zero fees.  That is as far as I know.

But I do not accept every card that comes my way.
But I keep all extension cards my hubby sends my way, , Lolz.
I will not also  carry a card that has a low/medium credit limit.
Hindi sa yabz Ko kelangan Platinum - but kasi I refuse to have an ATM acct/card. SO kelangan, my credit cards can absorb any emergency or moment of madness .

I like the Union Bank & Bank of Commerce cards.  Both cards lays accepted abroad - kahit na magkano.
The 1st always texts me to confirm transactions - even if I am abroad.  But never sila nag hang approval of any purchase of mine.
I like BOC - it allows me to pay my US charges in US$.

I gave back the renewal card BPI sent me, coz:
conversion rate of $ to Pesos mahal.
It has been politely refused by cashiers a few times abroad - embarrassing.  Call my bank daw, it appears so. Parang Ako  pa may atraso?!
Pag 20thou charge mo -- "call bank" appears - kausapin ko pa. - I find that embarrassing.
At 1st, the renewal card sent was a downgrade kasi daw hindi ko max use.  Sabi ng accountant ko -- keep your card.   LOlz, BPI sent another/the better card. Pero yoko na
Atchaka due date na wala pa statement! Lagi hinahabol ng accountant ko.  Yoko ganon.

So, for those who want higher limit cards, tip yan.  Build up just 1 card lang muna & take care of your credit/payment history there.  After a year, sigurado  upgraded your card limit.   At sigurado, bwisitin ka ng other  issuers with free cards.

Marami na talaga pre-approved nagdadatingan. Sana Lang always be responsible users. Ang iba kasi nagging excuse may card lang, they keep spending more than they can pay back. Tapos pag sisingilin na magagalit hinaharass daw or humihingi ng understanding na kesyo walang pambayad etc etc. Hindi ako nagwowork for collections agency but I hate hearing people whining about collection practices at sila pa galit pag sinisingil... Yun pala charge ng charge wala pala pambayad tapos mag complain taas in interest. Opinion lang.  :)

i just received a pre-approved BDO Gold Credit Card. I have no plans of using it cause i dont bring my other card anymore. i just wanna keep it for emergency purposes since AF is free naman until next year.

My first ever Credit Card (MetroBank) was also offered to me, i paid in full or at least i maintained a good account history with them. I was even approved of super high credit limit which i dont have plans of using.

Hindi ko rin kasi namamaximize yung mga promos or freebies nila, kaya sayang lang rin.

hi po sa lahat mga sis, just want to ask bout my BPI blue mastercard, sabi sakin ng BPI cavite branch is pwede ko na magamit yung blue master card from BPI and i can also use it daw in other countries kasi international, first time ko nagtry gamitin sya dito sa china pero hindi pwede, please help mga sis :-[ :o

Hi! BPI Blue is a classic type diba? I think you had to call up the bank muna to make sure that they're clear you are moving out of the country. Blocking a weird transaction is one of the security features of BPI to ensure things. Ang transaction details ng card mo was set to receive from PH siguro, then na alert yung system showing na CHINA transactions na agad.

There are many instances that bad people get credit card numbers and use it internationally.

So happy i got my citibank na... :) oh well i hope my credit card will increase limit within 6 months. I may not use my bdo card na, for emergency na lang yun. But will use citibank from now on, btw mga sis, do they also send text message if say your one time bill of your utility is approved?

Ohhhh you're lucky! I applied for my citibank but they havent gotten back to me kasi siguro I lost my CP so they weren't able to call. I will be replacing Metrobank CC kasi pangit talaga ng system my ged! di ko kaya na!!!

I am keeping my HSBC because it is very good to me :)

sis you can call them for cancellation but you need to settle all your obligation with them or any remaining balance on your card as in kailangan ma 0 balance siya.

I am very satisfied with my metrobank CC. They're very flexible para saken, i can update my account via internet, via text and via phone. Eh i'm the one who always keep tracks of her spending, kaya every time i swipe my CC, i see to it to see the new available/outstanding balance to know if the right amount was debited in my account.

so far so good. though, di lang ganun kadami perks nya like CITI and BPI.

mga sis what does it mean when they swipe your credit card and they get a message saying invalid card number? i'm pretty sure i'm not over the limit dahil 40k ang limit and nagamit ko lang one time for groceries worth only 2k and that's it..i only use it for emergency purposes..kakabayad ko lang din ng 11th and hindi ako nalalate so i don't know what's the problem..kelangan kelangan ko pa naman kanina to pay for dental services

I was able to have credit cards from HSBC, Citibank & BPI, and the latter served its best purpose for me. Not too high ang credit limit, international card, easy to pay online, and gets some free items for 2k and above charges.

I used to like Citibank too with its high credit limit (premier miles) but when I had my annual fee waived, they left me hanging for 3 days while sa BPI i know immediately. So I had it cut na lang. Not my loss. Ngayon they kept bugging me to get the rewards card since waived na raw forever ang annual, but what for? Now that i am able to manage my financials, no need. As long as you are a good payer, they will keep calling me pero deadma na. Sorry sila. HSBC & BDO gave me quite a bad service, so not interested, as with BDO pa they charge you the annual fee in monthly installments. Nah.
Thank you Lord for our new inspiration!

^sis ba pwedeng irequest sa BDO na gawin na lang annual din yung fee? sayang, interesado pa man din ako sa BDO cc though i already have a BPI. and yes, you're right. napaka convenient ng BPI since makikita mo agad online yung transactions, pede magbayad online, etc.
