^ if  you have a lot of time, stop by PP and stay for a night.

eto scenario pag nagPP ka: earliest bus to SR the next day. dating ka ng around lunchtime or 2pm sa SR. tapos explore around town (hindi pa temple tour). next day yung angkor complex tour. hindi advisable yung half day - half day na tours, mahal yun. you pay $20 per day, either half day ka lang magtour.

I'm planning a HCMC-SR-PP trip. Anyone who have done this? Kaya ba ito ng 3 weeks?

^sis kahit one week lang...masyadong matagal ang 3 weeks...ang saigon in 2 days malilibot mo na, sa cambodia, sa siem reap, sa angkor [textspeak!], kahit 2 days pwede na rin. di kami napunta ng phnom pen, pero i guess in 2 days din...killing fields lang naman at saka yung mga little angkor lang di ang makikita mo dun yata...be ready lang kasi sa pp parang mas mabigat ang pakiramdam dahil nga sa maraming namatay sa area. nung pumunta kasi kami dun, nag-change bus lang kami for sr, pero maganda ang lugar...but according sa mga friends ko na nag-pp, iba daw ang pakiramdam sa pp, mabigat daw...at maraming ghost stories...:-)

I got this suggestion from other people in VT forum, maybe it can be a help for some people here. For HCMC-Siam reap trip:

HCMC-2 days (city)
mekong delta (vietnam)-2 days (for homestay experience)
mekong delta (vietnam) to cambodia (forgot which part in cambodia) - ?? days
siam reap - 3 days (to fully enjoy the city and angkor temples)

So better if allot at least 10 days, take it slow, and enjoy the scenery.

My friend worked in Vietnam for 3 years and sabi nya, tagalan ko daw sa Cambodia dahil super ganda daw. And altho mabigat nga yung feeling sa Killing fields, amazing daw yung lugar. Hingi ako ng IT from him and I will share it here :)

Sad lang kasi yung promo fare ko sa Air Asia ay wala din since ang mahal naman ng Visa ko :(

Ask ko lang, pag dating ko sa HCMC, how do I book for Mekong Express to PP and then PP to SR the next day or prolly after 2 days?
HCMC >> PP >> SR kasi ang gagawin ko.

TIA

When we were there, we asked the hotel manager to book us tickets for Cambodia. Actually, wala din kaming sinabi na bus liner but he booked us at Mekong express, with return tickets na.

I know the thread's just Vietnam-Cambodia but since an ideal Indochina tour will also include Laos, question lang- anyone went to all three? Anong makikita sa Laos? Tia ;D

^ 10 days is enough if you only plan on going to HCMC in Vietnam, SR in Cambodia and whatever city you plan on visiting in Laos.

If you really want to go to Nha Trang and Hoi an, spend your 10 days in Vietnam nalang. Go from HCMC to Nha Trang then onwards to Hoi an, Hue and Hanoi.

^ lol thanks mali mali pa names ko ahaha. not really interested in hanoi eh. but you're right-i think pahirapan ang 10 days kung sasama pa laos and madami ako nagustuhan sa nha trang, based sa kuwento ng friend ko ;D isn't there an international airport closer to nha trang? not hcmc. tenchu! :)

Pangarap ko 'to for 2011 -- Cambodia + Vietnam. Start na ko ng research. Sa February, may trip ko BKK kami kaya lang baka kulangin sa time kung magtatry pa kami mag Siem Reap. Halos half day din kasi yung byahe via bus.
