i was an althea user for almost five years. this september lang ako huminto. i didn't notice the side effect until i stopped. i was dry down there pala when i was using it, as compared now. di ko masyadong pansin kasi ok naman. but when i stopped, ah grabe. it's like i'm back to my teen years, lubrication- and libido-wise

dati ako user nito, pero i noticed na nagkakapekas ako. Kaya i stop na. Hay, di na nawawala pekas ko pero nalalighten na lang sya ng derma at beautyproducts.

yung ob eto ang pinainom na pill sakin..for 3 months para maging regular period ko.
natatakot lang ako sa side effects ee.. i'm on a diet kasi hindi ba to nakaka-taba?

Althea rin nirecommend ng OB ko sakin, wala naman siya side effects sakin so far. Hindi rin naman ako tumaba or naging dry down there. Medyo nagkalaman kasi medyo matakaw lang talaga ako sa sweets pero not bceause of the pill. Don't be scared, iba iba naman effect ng pills sa tao eh. Try for 3 months then if may napansin kang iba, go back to your OB and tell her ano side effects para if ever hindi pa rin maregulate period mo, she can prescribe a new pill, usually Lady yung isang pang regulate eh ng menstrual period eh.

same experience.. super dry down there kaya i stopped taking it after a month palang.

Hi mga sis, newbie lang ako dto sa forum. ask ko lang, uhmm been taking charlize pills for  4mos 'coz sobra akong tinigyawat dun, tapos kakaswitch ko lang sa althea. kakatapos ko lang ng 21 pill ngayon. mejo naconfuse ako kasi parang ang aga masyado ng mens ko if ever? nagkakaroon kasi ako usually on the 20th. sept.8 plang ngayon. kinda confused lang. is it okay? tsaka sure naman na magkakamens ako? please answer, thanks!

Sis, kaka switch mo pa lang kasi to a new pill kaya ganun. Usually, leeway time para mag adjust ang body natin to a new pill is 3 months. So give it time muna. hehe. Nice choice, Althea nga yung nakakatanggal ng adult acne and facial hairs eh. =D

I just switched to Althea from Yasmin. I am on my 2nd pack na. I didn't have any side effects while on Yasmin. But since I wanted to have better skin nga, I switched to Althea. Now, I don't know if this was just because of the holidays, but I feel I am gaining weight. I'm not sure though if this is water retention. My OB told me kasi before na compared sa Diane, Yaz and Yasmin, the latter daw does not have water retention tendencies. I'm confused

hmmm...i am taking althea pero hindi naman nakaka gain ng weight. And alam ko wala ngang water retention ang Althea. Maybe finish 3 packs muna then see what happens. If feeling mo hindi hiyang sayo, then maybe go back to your OB and ask for another brand. But I'm pretty sure Althea is not the reasonw hy you gained weight.

I'd like to think that, too! Maybe it's just because galing ng holidays that's why I gained weight? I want to use Althea talaga, you're right, I suppose I need to finish 3 packs na muna and let my body get used to the pill before I judge it.

How long have you been using Althea pala sis katieflores? Is it true na it really clears the skin upon regular intake? TIA

I plan to switch from cerazette to althea. I was taking cerazette kasi while breastfeeding but now na hindi na, ob said i can switch to any pill and i chose althea. Sa cerazette kasi di ako nagkakaron. So after my last cerazette pill, immediately take na ba ko ng althea? Or should i wait for my period first? And pano effectivity? Wait ba muna 7 days before i indulge or since continuous naman on pills (magkaibang pills nga lang) eh safe pa din?

Hello mga sis! My OB prescribed Althea dahil irreg ang mens ko. Para di daw ako mahirapan magbuntis pag gusto na namin ni hubby magka-baby. May problem is that hesitant ako mag-take kasi I heard na super nagbe-breakout daw once you stop using. We are planning ni hubby na itake ko yung pills only for 6 months, pag naregulate na yung mens ko eh stop na ko. Meron na ba sa inyo nag-stop magtake nito then nagkapimple?

Nainis pa ko kanina pagbili ko kasi hiningan ako reseta, eh naiwan ko reseta ni OB kaya umuwi pa ko para kunin eh ang alam ko OTC lang ang pills.  Baka tinatamad lang kumuha yung pharmacist.

Hi! Just a few questions lang po, Im new with Althea kasi. I've been taking other brand pills for so long na but I recently changed it to Althea. Its my first pack pa lang, I started on my 3rd day na, kasi I intend to take it on the exact day as what it says on the pack para less ko sana makalimutan. It says in the package na ok naman mag-start even if it's not on your first day of period, is this effective sa first  time users? And about the 7 day free pill after you've taken all the 21 pills, it says you wait for your period, does it mean I need to start the new pack on the 1st day of my period or do I have to wait until the 8th day?? Thanks in advance for the answers..

Please advise me mga sis, i'm planning to take Althea pills. Maybe next week i can have my menstruation period, if i start taking the pills on my first day, am i safe to have intercourse with my boyfriend after my menstruation?
when i will take the Althea, is it morning or evening?
Please help me because it's my first time to take pills because i stop the injectible, they inject me august 19 and my next session is November 19 but i didn't come because within that 3 months i have spotting, i didn't enjoy that's why i decided to stopped it.
Please advise me how to use Althea pills..

Hi guys. Just wanted your opinions on what's going on with me and my girlfriend right now. She's been taking Althea regularly now for more than a year btw.

So last night after having sex, we found out that the condom had ripped inside her. We tried to look for it immediately but no luck. Tried to get her to check if it was left inside her, but still no dice.

This morning she did find it inside her while she was using the bathroom and she told me there was still some cum on it when she found it.

My question is, how safe are we pregnancy wise? I've talked to some friends already and they said that we should be just fine. Last night was her 10th day on the active pill cycle. We're just really paranoid about this hence the pill along with the condom.

We're both working now so no troubles there.

Is it also advisable for her to take the 4 nordettes immediately followed by another 4 in 12 hours while still taking Althea? We decided not to right now because I'm afraid na baka magloko yung hormones nya lalo.

Lastly, any advice on how I should talk to her? Nagkakastrain relationship namin dahil dito right now.

If she regularly takes the pill, that wouldn't be a problem. And she's on her 10th day already, so it's safe.

I mean kung religiously she's taking the pill (as you've said, for one year now) that wouldn't be a problem. Ang alam ko, you only take extra precaution (additional protection) for 7 days after taking the pill if you didn't start the first day of your menstruation (sorry... so much girly stuff here).

Parang you can take it anytime basta yung 7 days na yun, extra protection, just so ma-set yung hormones mo.

Hi Madness.  Yes, she does regularly take the pill but I'm not sure about the 7 days extra precaution thing. Ngayon lang ako natututo. Di kasi ako nagkaexperience nung college e hanggang hhww lang dati. 

So no need to take the nordette.

Yup. We decided not to take the nordette anymore ultimately.

I know nakaka-stress yan. Feeling ko talaga super stressed ka na, at feeling ko mararamdaman yan ng gf mo. Pero just talk to her na lang. Be honest about it. Once na mapagusapan, then let it go. It's going to be alright. At wag masyado papa-stress.

Nakakastress nga sobra. Nag-away na nga kami kanina e, di pa resolved until now. And I feel that the condom ripping was my fault. 

Now I just have to convince her that everything'll be okay for us. Thanks ulit, Madness.
