^ yes kahit cs dapat may maternity pads. I still prefer adult diapers coz malakas ako mag bleed nun.

I hated the feeling when they removed the catheter and then there was still soo much blood. Maternity pads may not be enough if malakas ang lochia pwede mag stain eh. Adult diapers for me para safe

^^ or if you prefer maternity pads... get some bed pads din :) mas ok kapag may sarili kang dala. of course cheaper over the hospital price :)

WHAT TO BRING SA HOSPITAL:

-bible (for quiet time together nyo)
-socks to use during stay sa hospital
-binder (important ito para ndi ka kabagin)
-slippers (yung pwede pang punta ng cr, in my case, yun na yung suot ko
-pagpunta ng hospital)
-maternity pads (sanitex)
-personal thermometer (kung [textspeak!] digital mas ok, meron yata mura Care Plus, yung dulo nya is flexible)
-going home dress mo
-damit,slippers for husband
-towels
-kumot(for husband)
-digital camera (huwag camera phone), charger
-cellphone, charger

optional:
  portable dvd player
  portable radio
  video recorder with blank cartridge/discs

-soap (small)
-joy diswahing liquid with small sponge and dish (in our case styro lang
pinaglagyan namin)
-toothbrush
-toothpaste (sachet para ndi bulky)
-alcohol
-tissue roll (mga 2 rolls)

-spoons and forks (para gamit nyo ni hubby and isa pang kasama nyo)
-microwaveable plastic container (yung rectangle, para pwede kainan, tipid
-plastic cups (for drinking) or better yet water bottles yung mga 330ml.

-pen
-envelope na lalagyan ng mga documents

-breastpump (should be clean and sterilized)

it is recommended to exclusively breastfeed the baby for the first six months.

Research  ka din about Gelai – being done after giving birth.

Check Medical City website, meron sila free breastfeeding seminar for expectant mothers.
Hm… baka meron din St. Lukes.

------------------

MONEY MATTERS:
i suggest, ask nyo na how much yung downpayment sa hospital para set aside
nyo na yung money na yun. lagay nyo sa envelope and label it as downpayment.

pati na din money for emergency use (example, mga 1000-2000 pesos to buy
meds, food, etc kapag nasa hospital ka na), you can set this aside on a separate envelope with label.

-------------------------

HOSPITAL ROOMS:

for the hospital, it is important na get the best for less. i was admitted
sa ward with airconditioning. hubby asked for semi-private na 100 pesos lang
ang difference but we opted to get the ward because the doctor previously
reminded us everything carries over when you upgrade to a higher room. don't get tempted to get a higher room if in case na 100 pesos lang ang difference. think of yourselves' financial capability rather than your visitors. Yung sobra dun sa better rooms, ipunin nyo na lang sa pagwelcome ng other visitors when coming to your house or sa birthday/dedication ni baby or sa pagbili ng gatas and diaper, mas maganda, mas practical.

---------------------------

PHILHEALTH:

ang ginawa namin is to use both of our philhealth benefits.

yung sa philhealth benefit ko, ginamit for my hospital bill. yung
philhealth benefit ni hubby ginamit for baby's hospital bill.

yung sa philhealth documents ko:

ask your HR on how you can get/request Member's Data Record (from
Philhealth) and Philhealth Claim Form 1 (meron kelangan data and pirma ng employer mo) para dala nyo na yun kapag na-admit ka sa hospital (and hindi na magpabalik-balik to your office habang naka-admit ka), then kapag mag-checkout ka na you need to present these forms sa hospital for outright deduction.

yung sa philhealth documents naman ni hubby:

Philhealth Claim Form 1 lang (na meron employer's info and signature) yung
kailangan, ganun din kapag mag-checkout na si baby you need to present
these forms sa hospital for outright deduction. kaya mas maganda kung meron na employer's info [textspeak!] dala nyo kapag na-admit ka na sa hospital.

-------------------

BIRTH CERTIFICATE INFO:

create and print a document containing birth certificate info for the baby.
pwede mo gawin pattern yung birth certificate mo para less errors for the
hospital staff lalo na sa spelling, dates and addresses.

-------------------
(add ko na as suggestion:)
COUPLE TIME:

yun nga, if you could, spend more time together as a couple kasi kapag
meron na baby madami uli adjustments. pwede kayo dinner sa labas or lunch out together during sunday para lang spend time together.

another question, what type of clothes ang magandang dalhin?

Thanks Mommy for the list sobrang comprehensive and complete, it helps me a lot and i even wrote it down sa notebook ko hehe.

Excited na ko though too early pa para magprepare ako hehe, im on my 25th week pa lang pero thank you so much at least mapreprepare ako ahead of time.  :D :D :D

You mentioned kasi na you have used both yours and your hubby for your newborn. Pede ba yun kahit di pa dependent si baby make-carry over yung hosp bill niya ke hubby's Philhealth?

@ $ale Seeker -

hi sis hingi ka ng philhealth certification mo from your company yung nakastate dun [textspeak!] mga binayaran both mo and ng company mo while youre were still with them. And then visit ka sa Philhealth office malapit sanio and ask them if you can still continue as voluntary member. Or better yet call them nalang para di hassle. That's what I did when I have queries about my hubby's philhealth and then right now what I plan to do is to pay everything in full from June until Nov 2010 since Oct 2010 ang due ko. Advised yan sakin ng HR namin before I left my company last May.

Kaya lang make it clear with Philhealth when you visit them or call themif you can still pay the 1st and 2nd Quarter since ang pagkakaalam ko per Quarter ang bayad jan ng mga employers not sure though if that also applies sa voluntary member.

Hope this helps.

uberchic, sorry OT here but question on your suggestion sa philhealth.

:-\ is that why you opted to use your hubby's philhealth for baby's blll?
