Definitely for Retirement. If you don't have kids, then lalong mas dapat kang mag-prepare for retirement because you can't expect other people to feel obligated to take care of you when you're old. To make things worse, as we get older, our medical expenses increase too. In fact, I believe that kahit may anak na dapat maglaan parin for retirement so our kids can think more of their own future :)

Saving more for real estate investment and planning to start investing in stock market. I already have Life Insurance, AUD TD, PHP TD kaso hindi ko ramdam dahil sa liit ng interest, parang pinapatago ko lang talaga sa bangko ang pera ko that's why I will try out stock market. :)

Since i got my first job, i saved a portion of my salary every pay day. For now, im just building may liquid asset para kung may emergencies, may mabubunot ako. Once i hit my target, mag iinvest na ko sa mutual funds o sa stocks, and if my next job will have a higher pay, i will look for a small house to buy, yung pang single muna. hehe

I'm single. Some of my savings:

My Retirement Fund - PRU Life investment/insurance but I have it on 80% investment, 20% insurance para I still have a bit of coverage pero my money can grow. I pay a premium of 38,400 annually for this, and get a self-calculated and self-projected 6-8 Million in 10 years. This is for when I grow old and I will have money for myself and not be a burden to my dependents :) kawawa na man magkaanak ako and my children cannot live their dreams because they will be giving money to me all the time.

Pending My Equity Investment - High risk, yes, but willing to play the field naman because I have some money coming, esp. monthly/yearly bonuses. Planning stages pa because I want to really understand how Equity works. Looking into BPI Equity because BPI is near my home. My goal with this is to buy a small lot to make a little house-farm with organic veggies and free-range chickens. :)

My Emergency Fund - I have stashed about 3 months worth of salary in a Time Deposit with a 3-month rollover. It is low, since it's just 2.75% per annum. But I'd rather have this here than anywhere :) I feel safe when I know I have it. It's not very big, but I am still building it and I have steady work naman in an office.

My 'Cushion' Fund - My most easily accessible money, has just 10k, but it deflects me from having to tap to my Emergency Funds, which is supposed to be hands-off unless things get very dire or I am drowing in debt which I am not.

My Opportunity/Travel Fund - Self explanatory.

Well, that's just it. Sorry for posting too long. There are many levels of savings, because there are many things I want to do and ensure in the long run!

I am 24, single, and has been working overseas for more than a year na. As of now, wala pa akong investment, pure savings only. Bilib ako sa mga sisses natin who are into stocks and mutual funds. I'm afraid of taking risks kasi. I have a savings account in BDO which is earning very little interest. I plan to make it as emergency fund for me and my family. I also have a separate BPInoy account which the majority of the money I put in time deposit. This is preparation for my future.  :)

I also contribute monthly to SSS.

^Sis ako din I was risk averse kaya nung una hindi ko talaga nilalagay pera ko sa mutual funds and uitfs, but when my mom showed me her Mutual Fund, omg, walang sinabi ang savings account. Right there and then nagbukas ako ng MF. And I have not looked back since :)  Yes mas risky, pero I'd rather risk risk now when I'm single kesa kung kelan may pamilya na ko.

Sorry OT!!! Sis Aichusyu, yung Pru Life mo na 38K annual premium, how many years to pay? And magkano yung coverage mo?

Me, I'm single now but my fiance and I are planning to get married in 2014. Ngayon palang iniisip ko na yung mga educational funds ng anak namin haha. BUT even if I weren't going to get married, I'm planning to put up a house din. My OWN house. Tsaka sana I have enough funds to put up my own business someday. For everything else, it's really just to maintain my current lifestyle.

^^hi sis! nice naman at yung mom mo pa nakapag-encourage sa iyo to go into mutual funds. If i may ask sis, saan ka nag-open ng mutual fund? Can i do it online? I'm presently working abroad kasi at sa next year pa ang bakasyon ko.

nung single pa ako, lagi lang naka time deposit yung savings ko kasi i'm afraid to take risks.
gusto ko sana bumili ng lot, pero it always wasn't enough.
i never got around to using it until i got married though and bought a house&lot.

I'm 23, and right now, lahat ng savings ko sa para sa family parents ko. Unfortunately, it appears that they have no plans for retirement so right now I'm doing it for them. Also, I'm preparing my brothers for their future:

Brother 1
: to be applied for VUL before Graduation n'ya. This is my Grad gift for him instead of gadgets and money, kasi at least, all set na s'ya para makapagipon for his future family and retirement.

Same goes for Brother 2: currently 8 years old, pero pag naayos ko na siguro 'yung kay brother 1, aasikasuhin ko na 'to. Para makapagready na rin kami ng funds pagdating n'ya sa college (since my parents would be around 50-60 years old and won't be that capable to produce money for his education).

Also, struggling to earn and have a business for my future family, have my own house and get married at the age of 27-29.

Sounds tough, puro management finances at raket talaga ginagawa ko recently just so I could extra bucks for different investments like at the stock market; bentahan sa office ng clothes from M&co; Boardwalk etc; breeding dogs; VUL; and this coming november makikipagbusiness partner ako sa very trusted friend for selling gadgets in the office. So far, magandang market ang call center, kaya maganda rin takbo ng tinnie-tiny businesses ko. Income flow may be slow and little, however, the good part is, it still puts money in you pocket..

Tough world for a single person like me. Walang inheritance sa parents so theirs and my future is all up to me... :P I take it as a challenge and pretty much up for it..

I'm sure it's going to be worth it...   ;D

Done enrolling my 2 brothers for VUL with SunLife.

Anyway at least I had them enrolled. I was hoping to start business this year, but I read my Horoscope and it told me na now is not a good year to start a business but to save. Pero siguro kahit maliit na loading business won't hurt, the rest would go to my savings, stocks and VULs.

I hope this year turns out to be a good one for me...  :-[
