This is one of the fears that I really have to overcome just like everyone else here. I will try my best to learn this summer talaga

I overcame my fear after -- of all things! -- I bumped the guardhouse.
Then about 15min after while making a u-turn, I bumped my neighbor's car.

Hindi pa natapos doon, kasi the following day... another u-turn, I bumped naman a gate.

After that, tumapang na ako kasi well.. what the heck,  magpapa repair na rin lang ng car due to the bumps eh... todo todo ko na --  kung ma bump eh di ma bump.

Hubby said then:  sige, basta hwag lang tao.

Hello! i had my driving lessons in SMART also but after the first lesson, my dad was not satisfied. So he enrolled me again after a month and nagpractice ako sa min.

I got a license after a month and then hit the street (commonwealth pa) on my own the Saturday after I got my license. It was funny kasi hanggang 2nd gear lang ako. imagine yung gas na inubos ko nun. And then every week nagppunta ako sa SM para mapractice. When my mom and dad left for states, I brought our car everyday and dun na ko nahasa. Pero di pa rin ako magaling na driver but confident enough to drive. :) 2 years palang ako nagddrive pero lahat ata ng klaseng daan, malubak, makitid, pataas, matarik.. even expressways nakapagdrive na ko.

Lakasan lang ng loob. :) basta magpractice ka. Don't scare yourself too much. Walang pupuntahan ang takot. Enjoy driving! :)

Manual o automatic car mo, sis?

I just enrolled this afternoon for a 5 hour refresher course. Wala, sobrang di pa din ako confident, i feel i still need a lot to learn- backing, parking, hanging, pati tamang pag turn ng steering wheel.

ang iniisip ko lagi noon, basta kapag nalito ako or nataranta, i can always stop the car by stepping on the brake pad, clutch then neutral.

twice na din akong nabangga since my first drive, but i can proudly say na 'di ko fault.

After driving school, I was still quite scared to drive. Pero nawala lahat ng takot ko when I drove my first car from Manila to Baguio with my dad. He calmly guided me, and after that long drive, I was on my own.

^^ actually, my courage comes from having passengers who are scared... hahaha! bad ko no? i find it funny na kinakabahan sila and the more i am relaxed. sorry but that is just how i did it. if it works for you, then good.

i never had a formal lesson except for atras-abante and the usual pangaral ng papa ko sa mga kapatid ko. i was the last to learn driving sa aming apat. i learned driving outside on my own. it's a miracle my papa allowed me to. siguro kasi may work naman ako nun, if ever madisgrasya ko yun car :P. i drove across metro manila - literally. from valenzuela to paranaque with my hubby (then boyf) who doesn't know how to drive. nakauwi naman ako ng buo.

hubby was so scared then sabi ko mabibitin kami sa fly over and he would need to push the car forward. hahaha! kahit nerbyos na din ako, nawawala kapag ganun e. or maybe he's the one who takes my fears away? di kaya?

@aquacharly: bump car? jk
