^ako din i applied thru jobsdb, jobstreet, job monster, jobs central. meron din ako jobs alert from indeed, recruit.net, st107.

actually last january may nagcontact sakin for an interview pero dito pa ako sa pinas. so turn down ko muna kasi di rin pwede video call/skype interview tapos tumawag ulit sila ng feb. i went to sg just for that interview pero unfortunately i didn't get the job. sa jobsdb rin lang ako nag apply. im going to sg this june to try to land a job. actually kinakabahan na din ako kasi start ng july 1 20% na lang ang quota for s pass sa isang company. but still, if i don't try i'll never know. andun din si bf kaya okay din kasi may support from him.

^wow,that was an expensive trip for an interview sis! may mga tumatawag pa din pala kahit andito sa pinas?

sabi nung batchmate ko na galing sg may mga kakilala daw siya na pasado na sa company don pero hindi binigyan ng pass ng mom...

^well actually sis i used an sg address, yun din ang fault ko. pero meron naman talaga tumatawag kahit andito ka pa sa pinas provided na match yung qualifications mo dun sa job post.

Sige try ko mga sites na nilagay niyo Streetsmartsgirl and Bratty. Sana may magreply na. Ano nga ba mas effective? To go there or to apply online? What's S Pass? Yan ba yung kinukuha kapag nagpunta sa Singapore para maghanap ng work? Parang yan yung na ikwento sa akin noon. How do you get one?

nagpunta ako s sg dati as tourist visit, after one week i was able to get a job in a fine dining japanese restaurant, this is direct hire, i apply personally, then they process my paper/docs for MOM, luckily i get an E-pass!. in sg kasi though like ka ng employer mo but u didnt pass the MOM they cannot hire u.
dun sa E-Pass ko, general manager naka indicate na position but on actual i was just a receptionist/teller/inventory a multitasking job for me at times waitress too..

marami akong kasabay or kakilala na dun mismo s sg naghahanap ng work, mas madali kasi, if u like din meron naman mga agency din dun so kalimitan ganun gawa nila as in walk in applicants or buy ka ng news paper nila n look dun s ads nila..make sure to bring your documents with you! diploma is a must!

^^ I think you're referring to EPEC. It allows you to stay in singapore for a year to specifically look for a job. Unfortunately this scheme has been discontinued

normally if tourist visit, they will give u 1 month, so dapat within that period u get a job na, or if still none apply for extension a week before your visa expires. sometimes on the 3rd month they exit to malaysia and then get another 1 month visa, coz its cheaper and easier to go to malaysia than go back to the philippines, this is if your really job hunting in sg!

E-pass or Employment pass is given usually to white collar jobs or higher paying jobs , while S- pass naman is given to those like saleslady, etc, below salary of SSg2,000. then work permit naman is given to those who work as domestic helpers..now the dilema lies in Ministry of manpower (MOM) which means u have to pass to have an issuance of e-pass or s-pass to be able to work, but they are really strict! job vacancy is a lot but hard to pass s MOM!

^^sis honeys yung s-pass 2000 sgd minimum yun, not below. bawal bumaba sa 2k sgd ang s-pass holder. pero may mga company na nandadaya. ako engineer ako pero s-pass holder ako.masyado ng mataas requirement ngayon for e-pass.

Hello and Good evening mga sisses, I want to ask questions about this SG thingy na to:

Yung dad ko kasi he been there matagal na (Pinadala lang siya dun ng boss niya hahaha!) mga mid 90's siguro lol! He told me na medyo in demand ang SG nun panahon nila. Ayun naka trabaho naman siya na maayos dun kahit papaano. Ngayon kasi nasa Saudi na siya ngayon. eto ngayon:

Yung kuya ko kasi he's a licensed Electrical Eng'g and he resigned his job last week. So ayun he needs a 2 years experienced here muna, Kasi ang goal niya is makapunta siya ng SG maybe next year or someday. Tanung ko lang, kapag licensed ka ba, it means na mataas ang sweldo mo kaysa sa di ka licensed? Kasi i ask my dad before na licensed Mechanical Eng'g na mataas daw ang sweldo niya nun nandun siya. Kasi yung kuya ko he wants to work there. Pero i told him naman na mag pray siya at matutupad ang gusto niya. I know madaming proceso pag pupunta ka ng SG for work right?

when i was still there (2008), what matters to the locals is the years of experience, much better if your brother will gain a solid experience first here. IMO only sis.

^ Thanks sis, kasi depressed ang kuya ko ngayon ee. Pero like what you said, he needs to work solid for 2 years. His friend was in SG din pero wala naman siya experience nun pumunta siya dun.

Pero right now, he had a job na. project engineer siya.

and he's also a licensed din.

@cool_chique, there are no interviews or exams. When you're hired, you have to fill out the forms for the work visa and the employer is the one who will submit it to MOM. From there, hintay hintay na lang for the results. So long as you fulfill the requirements for whatever category your employer have applied you for (best eg. min salary), you will likely pass. But then again, pahirapan nga ngayon sa MOM

Hello GT! this year my husband is going to sg to work as a nurse, he applied in MIP medyo malaki nga ang placement fee eh. Next year plan ko sumunod sa kanya to find work na [textspeak!] din dun, mahirapan kaya ko? College graduate naman ako medyo malayo nga lang sa work ko ang couse ko, BS Math, pero receptionist cum admin ako sa isang advertising company. Give me some advise naman mga sis... thanks

^ If your husband can apply you for a dependent pass when he gets here, it'll be easier for you to find work. I'm not saying it guarantees that you can find a job, but it will increase your chances.
Dahil sa paghihigpit ng MOM ngayon ng pag issue ng work pass, it's easier for employers to look for PR or Singaporean na they don't have to apply for permit.

I'm not in that field kaya hindi ko sure ang hiring process nila. Just be prepared at tiyaga lang na mag apply at mag attend ng interviews.

sis, ano bang pass ang ibibigay sa husband ko? kasi sa agency lang din siya nagapply eh.... ifever working visa yun, maaapply pa rin nya ko ng dependent visa? thank you sa reply :-)

Sis depende yun sa salary nya. E-Pass ang iissue sa kanya kapag more than 3000 sgd ang salary. 3000 sgd and below S-Pass ang tawag. Parang naka categorize sya according to his salary. Kapag 2800 sgd and above pwede kayong makuha as dependent. Sometimes company ang nag ssponsor. Minsan din ayaw magsponsor ng company kaya sya mismo ang mag-aapply ng dependent pass nyo. Kapag sya lang pala nag-apply for you kelangan nya magpakita at least 3k sgd sa bank account nya.

Mukhang mahihirapan sya iapply kayo sis kung di abot sa 2800 salary nya. Yun kasi ang requirement.

Pero you can come here naman as a tourist then hanap ka ng work. Within 30 days dapat nakahanap ka na kasi usually 30 days lang itatatak sayo. Or you can exit to indonesia/malaysia after 30 days at di ka pa din nakahanap. Be sure lang na stable na hubby mo bago ka pumunta dito. kasi medyo risky din. I know someone na 1900 yung salary then pinapunta nya dito spouse nya to find a job. E ang naging resulta medyo nagkautang utang kasi may kids din na pinag aaral sa Pinas plus high ang cost of living dito e ang tagal bago nakahanap ng work spouse nya. Ang hirap din kasi ng magkalayo no?
