I had an endoscopy recently sa My Health, Edsa Shangri-la. I have Maxicare but no Philhealth so i had to shell out an extra 16k. Pero if [textspeak!] dn ako maxicare total cost would be about 24k. Yes its very pricey talaga! Sabi ng doc ko sa states an endoscopy is 3,000 USD pa.

Hi sis, share ko experience ko; ako din super takot magpaendoscopy as in! My doc said i will be sleeping during the endoscopy session pero still syempre kinakabahan pa din ako. Dami kong tanong nung prep time; [textspeak!] unang kumakausap sakin is the anesthesiologist. He stuck me with dextrose and sprayed my throat with something that tastes like spicy bananas to numb my throat. Tapos nung malapit na [textspeak!] doctor dumating, he injected na anesthesia sakin, and he said ill feel sleepy. I did feel a little woozy, kinda calmer, pero i didnt fall asleep! Dumating na yung doctor ko and lalo ako nagising! Even when nagdagdag pa ng anesthesia sakin gising pa dn ako and my doctor stuck the tube down my throat and told me to swallow. I gagged a few times and was told to swallow and then i could feel the tube poking inside.

I can tell you this though, endoscopy is very doable. I was able to do it while i was awake and im a huge chicken and hate visits to doctors. Nothing is painful, just a bit uncomfortable. Gagging does not hurt, it just comes naturally. Youre not nauseous so its not that bad. You can breathe normally through your nose and mouth even if there is a tube inside you. Biopsy does not hurt, i didnt feel a thing as i was too busy feeling the tube inside my esophagus. Very weird feeling. When they pumped air inside to see my stomach better, i burped really long and loud and normal reaction daw yun.

Actually if they told me that theyll do it to me awake i wouldve protested but it was a good thing that i didnt do it asleep. I was able to recover faster. You'lll be ok, no need to worry cuz its a quick procedure.
Next time i would probably still do it while awake.

mga sis do you think I have ulcer na? kasi lagi ako nalilipasan ng gutom eh.. lagi kasi masakit yung tyan ko, yung pakiramdam na laging gutom at feeling ko literal na binubutas yung sikmura ko.. ganon yun pain tapos nakakapanlata.. nawawala siya when I eat tapos after ilang hours ayan na naman masakit na naman.. hindi naman ako nagsusuka or what..

count me in here. i belong sa thread nato. yung feling na para ka din buntis kasi para kang nasusuka at may halong nahihilo.

pag umatake ang sakit to sa akin what i eat is lugaw lang muna.
sis devilish_einjel yan yung 1 of the reason pag may ulcer laging nalilipasan ng gutom then masakit na yung tyan.but mas much pa chek ka sa doctor sis.

Hi mga sisses, I was able to see a gastro and he recommended PPI (Omeprazole). I need to take it once a day before meals. I forgot to ask him kun before breakfast, lunch or dinner? To those taking PPI, kelan nyo sya iniinom? TIA

After taking soo many meds in the past, I decided to take chlorophyll tablets. at first, parang walang effect for a week. But then after that, significant change tlaga yung nangyari as in nawala ang burp ko at everyday na rin ang bowel movement ko. I take 4 tablets a day, every after meal.

Hi sisses im newbie..same rin tayo ng problem.madalas sumasakit tiyan ko,pero sasakit tuwing matapos kong kumain ng meal.after 2 hours masakit agad,feeling gutom,na nanghihina ako.so ayun ang bagsak kakain na naman ako.kaya tuloy tumataba ako lalo,di ako makapag diet..sabi ng doctor ko sa Medical City,di naman ako pwede magpa endoscopy kasi im too young for that(sabi niya yon,pero 26 na ko).pinainom muna ako Omepron,before breakfast ko iinom once a day for 14 days then balik ako sa kanya.next week pa ko babalik.nawala yung sakit kaya lang ewan ko pero nung isang araw lang nakamiss ako uminom ng isang tablet,ngayon balik na naman yung sakit-sakit effect.di ko alam kung dahil ba yun sa namiss ko yung isang araw na di ako uminom ng gamot ko..

off topic rin saka OT pero pwede bang mag suggest naman kayo sa akin ng mga pwede kainin para di agad ako magutom?basta walang rice sana,hirap talaga ako mag diet.sabi ng doctor hatiin yung meal,kaso kung yung half rice ko hahatiin ko pa sa 2x kainan,baka lalo ako manghina..sorry dami tanong..

hi share lang, i was taking PPI before, but then meron nag recommend sakin sa mercury ng herbal supplement sinubukan ko kasi sabi sa akin natural daw ang sangkap, mabisa sya kasi for 2 weeks na pag take talagang naranasan ko nawala iyong madalas na pag burp at nawala rin ang pangangasim ng sikmura ko.

hi mga sis newbie, share ko lang before meron akong Gerd halos daily sinusumpong ako binigyan ako ng doktor na gamot cost 100each, for 1 month na pag take hindi naging effective sa akin, meron akong friend nagsabi try ko raw iyong Gastrocare supplement 2 weeks pa lang akong uminom hindi na ako sinusumpong.

Gastrocare herbal supplement, nagustuhan ko sya kasi natural ang sangkap at totoo naman kasi okay na ako ngayon.

I'm having the same symptoms with most of you here. Stomach pain above the navel & below the ribcage. Then I have mild chest pains along with shortness of breath. FOr this symptoms nagpa check na ako few months back pero ang sabi lang ng doc eh anxiety or panic attack kasi based on her PE normal naman daw heartbeat ko. Then I also have constant farting & burping, plus i have this feeling na may umaakyat sa throat ko that causes discomfort on in between my colar bone. I'm getting worried kasi last night lang di ako nakatulog due to shortness of breath feeling ko nalulunod ako.

I'm currently out of the country and scheduled na uwi namin in less than 2 weeks so i was thinking na sa Pinas na lang magpa check up. What do you think mga sis? should I wait for our vacation or I should go to the doctor na?

And also, do I have to go to a gastro doc or a visit to the internist would be fine?

i have GERD too. meron dapat akong schedule for gastroscophy last december kaso i had it rescheduled kasi busy nung holiday.

the doctor had me take omeprazole. pero i had to stop it few days before the procedure, but since hindi natuloy ang gastroscophy, ayun balik na naman sya.

i also often have sore throat kasi nadadamage yung throat ko ng stomach acid pag nagreregurgitate.

anyway, i discovered blood type diet kasi i noticed tumataba na rin ako. no relation sa GERD whatsoever.

pero ang napansin ko, since i followed the blood type diet, bihira na humilab ang tyan ko. hindi na rin umaakyat yung stomach acod, and kahit gaano karaming food kainin ko never na ako naging bloated. regular na rin ang bowel movement so i guess diet lang talaga ang katapat nya.
