Not really balikbayan but someone living abroad got in touch with me and asked if she could "crash" in our home for two days.  I replied that I could have her for two days; saying we had a lot of work to do and would have time to provide for accommodations only and won't have time to tour her around.   She arrived on a Tuesday and stayed on until Sunday!  And then she kept on bugging us that we drive/tour her around - despite her seeing that we did have work in our home office - and polite Pinoys that we are, we had to stop working and drive her around on that Saturday.  But the next day, Sunday, I told her I got too tired from the driving that I was sleeping in.

It was really verr stressful!

yes i have. just last january, my aunt arrived from canada, she kept on texting me that she wants to stay in our house in cavite for a few days. she wants to go to mall and shop lang daw. sabi ko sure. and asked her what till she will arrive (kasi sa laguna sya dumerecho straight from the airport) and she can't decide on what time.
eh i wanted to know, para ma-adjust ko sched ko. then she replied like this, "what if 6pm kaya kami umalis dito sa laguna by saturday then sunday samahan mo ako shopping"
so reply ako, eh di super late na kayo makakarating dito sa cavite, baka mahirapan kayo pagbyahe.
then she texted again, "ah what if 4am na lang kaya kami ng sunday alis dito ng laguna, then saka tayo mag-shopping."
sabi ko di kaya mapagod sa byahe si lola if kasama mo pala sya then derecho na shopping the same day?
sabi nya kasi my pupuntahan pa ako ng saturday eh, kaya i prefer those sched.
sabi ko, if shopping lang naman ang reason nyo to go here, why not try sm calamba, kasi open na naman sya. para di masyado hassle sa sched mo.
and she replied, parang ayaw mo kami papuntahin sa house mo ah. sige wag na lang.
nagalit sya.and kulang nalang isumpa ako.

same goes when a friend from Pinas comes over and visits you abroad...oh my! me pasok ka, it's so hard to take a leave because of a project, pag di mo pinagbigyan, sasabihin minsan lang siya bumisita di mo pa pagbibigyan.

yearly ganyan ang dilemna ko, kapag umuuwi ang close friend ko from Utah and yung mga cousin ng bestfriend ko from LA talagang nahihirapan ako mag adjust kasi kung hindi June sila pupunta dito sa Manila eh December. Susmio kapag ganung months eh super hectic ng schedule sa work lalo na sa construction. Nakakapuyat and nakakapagod talaga na samahan sila sa mga bars and vacation spots.
Minsan hindi pa magkasundo kung saan unang pupunta tuloy magulo ang lakad and nasasayang ang oras ko kung itinulog ko nalang sana...

well, for me since minsan lang naman sila makauwi, and pasko naman.. ok lang... at least happy makasama sila
