I want a running shoe that's lightweight.  Nahihirapan kasi ako tumakbo pag mabigat shoes.  Any suggestion?

Most running shoes for paved road running are lightweight.  Trails running shoes tend to be heavier.  Running flats are the lightest but that is sacrificing better cushioning.  Most of the popular brands of running shoes have all 3, it's really up to you to try them on and see which is best for you.

I would highly  recommend asics because its stylish ,comfortable to wear and the design is durable.A gentle reminder choosing a right shoes would depend on your foot type.

I agree with the others. Try and check your gait and how you pronate and choose the right shoe by brand/style. I'm an Asics fan, my old pair of running shoes were from the 2100 series nila, with more stability ito for over pronators. They were fine, but now I got a new pair, the SD-Lytes, this is from their line of Cushioning Shoes with some Stability Control. I love these better, lighter than my 2130's, but cushioning is excellent at tama lang yung stability control.

Please check the Asics website, all their Shoes/Styles are laid out there. Especially the Running shoes. Great guide. Afaik they've opened na a store of their own. Hopefully they carry a more extensive range, unlike other stores that have them, piling-pili lang talaga.

I order mine online tapos balikbayan box. So much cheaper if you get older styles like I do, got my SD-Lytes on sale. I have a pair of their Crosstrainers also, which I know aren't available here. Fan ako ng brand na 'to cos I love the fit and sizing is sure across all their styles. So maski I order abroad, sigurado ako sa fit all the time. Plus they really have great shoes that perform and deliver well for me. Hopefully they get represented here a bit more, they're pricier talaga but worth it. ;)

whoa! laki pala ng price difference ng running shoes at stores here compared to the US. I was eyeing this new style of trail running shoes from Columbia priced at 4.8K. And when I checked online, it was only a mere $45. Screw those taxes!

Re 5 Fingers, I suggest to newbies to work up to this. Get your leg muscles strong first, these barefoot styles reallywork your feet/legs harder talaga. Start na muna with running shoes to get used to it. Besides, you may find out later running/jogging is not for you. ;)

I can say that it is better to wear rubber shoes which are light and flexible. It will give you a full performance and easy way on running and jumping.

Sa Amazon ako suki. Pag free ang shipping super sulit pag naka sale. I got an Asics Antares X-trainer for $31 before with free shipping. Medyo bihira na ganon ka bagsak sa Asics, but if you get them for $39 for my latest pair ng Asic's SD-Lyte runners then sulit na sulit na.

Recent buy ko sa recent Athletic Shoe Sale nila are Puma Sneakerina's casual shoe also $31, free shipping. I saw this sa Puma store sa Trinoma P2.6K.

tried one, pero medyo di ko type kasi feel ko masakit pag-mabato ang dadaanan mo.

but I have Singaporean runner friends who love it...pero mostly lalaki. They said it takes time to get used to it. Vibram kasi was meant to emulate bare foot running, which is the best way to run kuno.

Looks like I will have to say goodbye to my Nike Frees already. I am going 15K already and it seems like everytime I train I get blisters. Mukhang I will consider New Balance and Asics this time. Parang what I get here is that Nike does not seem to be a favorite among sa runners na sisses natin.

No offense to Nike fans, but most of my runner friends sya it's not for serious runners. Sayang nga kasi ang gaganda ng styles nila. Been running (intermittently) for almost 2 years in my trusty Adidas but now looking for a pair that will correct (or at least improve) my over pronation and heel striking. I've actually found my dream shoes at Runnr ATC, but it comes at a price: 5,295. SALE pa yun from 8k plus. It's called Newton Motus Motion 410. Newton shoes have a patent on their lugs which are placed specifically on the balls of the feet (midfoor part) so it forces you to be a midfoot striker (which is the correct way to strike).

I'm thinking of whether to invest in these or just go with the more affordable Asics, Brooks, New Balance or Mizuno.

Has anyone here used Newtons? Would really appreciate some feedback before I decide to buy. TIA! :)
